  • In this video, Jessica Rae owner of Sunless Rae, shares her trick on how to close your pores right before you get a spray tan or self tan. It is easy to forget you need to exfoliate, shave/wax 24 hours before a fake tan, but using ice right beforehand is a simple trick to close your pores and still get a flawless sunless tan application.

    I've done this with frozen peas before and it definitely works 😊 What I do now is if I know I'm putting fake tan on and I need to shave and exfoliate I'll hop in the shower as normal and shave etc and then before I get out I take the shower head off the mount and turn the water all the way to cold and hold that over the areas I need to close the pores (mostly legs) and then I hop out and pat dry 😊 always works for me 😊

      Yes that is a great option too! Yes, exactly!! If someone tells me they have to shower beforehand, I always tell them to do that :)

    I might have to try this ice idea! I have been studying this pore issue for months because even if I shave, exfoliate, blast my legs with cold water 24-48 hours before my tan, my pores on my legs are STILL OPEN. I also had an idea while watching your video, wetting face cloths and placing them in the fridge to put over my legs.
    Ps. LOVE your shirt! x

      Is the tanner leaving you with brown look spots on your legs? You may have really big pores, and if thats the case use a water based self tanner (no bronzer) and that will fix the issue. Isle of Paradise has one :)

    I’m going to try this soon! I always shave/exfoliate 24 hours before & wait hours after showering before I apply self tanner but always get spots on my legs 😒 I just used self tanner yesterday LOL can’t wait to try this next time!

      Let me know how if it works for you! If it doesn’t try a self tanner with no bronzer in it, so a water based one 😊

    I’ve followed your tips but I still get little dots on my legs when I self tan . I’ve used a dry brush and waited 24 hrs after I shaved . What am I doing wrong ?

    So I was wondering about spray tanning the face is it bad to use a bronzer and does it cause an oxidation process to happen on your face because the reason why I wanna spray tan is on when I prevent aging.

    • @sunlessrae7022
      @sunlessrae7022  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never heard of that making you age more.

    How do I make self tanner take to my skin better? I don't use moisturizer before hand, I use a scrub in the shower. But it won't really take much, especially my chest and legs, when I wake up the next day and shower there's barely any color.

    Hi just started watching your videos, very informative but I have an issue that when I tan I get black dots on my back and my neck. I do exfoliate and I shave and everything before like 24 hours before and I still get the dots. I don't spray tan I do the foam tan. I didn't really do the cold water.

    • @sunlessrae7022
      @sunlessrae7022  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Try self tanner that is clear. Some will call it water based. That will stop that from happening 😊

    Is there some kind of body makeup/ thick illuminator that can kind of cover/ distract attention away from this issue? It happened all over my lower stomach where I shaved...

      St tropez has a matte body makeup in beige tube I find it online and it’s good on sweet and water

    I have a few larger pores on my face and I tanned yesterday - I think the tanning guide bronzer the technician sprayed on my face got pulled into these pores and it aint the look lol - I washed my body and face with water this morning but the bronzer is still in my face pores. Is there anyway to salvage my face tan (even if it gets lighter) while also opening up the pores to get the bronzer out of them? We're going on vacation tonight and I was hoping to avoid wearing makeup

    • @sunlessrae7022
      @sunlessrae7022  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So next time skip tanning your face and use face drops to tan it (that doesn’t have bronzer in it). I would use a facial steamer and exfoliate. That should get do the trick!

    I'm confused about this. All dermatologists/Drs say that your pores don't ACTUALLY open and close so how does it work?

    • @sunlessrae7022
      @sunlessrae7022  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don’t completely open but they open enough for bronzer to get stuck in them. The correct term is they expand and then get smaller. However, most people who aren’t drs or dermatologist don’t know the difference so most just say open and close 😊
