If only I could give Roland a thousand 'thumbs up' !!!.. He WAS thee greatest of all !!! His ability with both the mechanics of the instrument itself and the emotion and expression he adds, spells perfection every time !!! Maestro Roland Dyens, gone way too soon....
Simply, that is my Fav Guitarist Maestro composer for the last 10 years and will ever be no 1, cant wait for his new arrangements for Piazolla! Finally seeing him performing La Foule, This is the only available video performance by him!
Angel Cabral (the original composer) was Argentine, but the song is based on a Peruvian valse, and you hear echos of A. Lauro's Valses Venezoelanos in this piece, possibly accentuated by Dyens' arrangement (especially the bass line). Check out this folkloristic rendition of the original: th-cam.com/video/vEHU6G_OC9I/w-d-xo.html
I've just made a denoised version of the audio if you're interested. You can clearly hear the all frequencies of the original guitar recording with about 85% noise reduction. I don't want compensation at all, message me if you're interested.
This man wrote the arrangement and described how each note of the piece should be played. So with no disrespect to mattrach but R.Dyens is the best at playing his own arrangements and pieces

So good. He raises the level of classical guitar
For sure he did.
Do you know Fuoco ?
JUST BRILLIANT ...
Roland Dyens atteint des sommets dans l'imagination créatrice et la splendeur de l'interprétation.
Thank you! This is the first time seeing this played live, and is hugely appreciated. A terrible and premature loss.
He was a real music magician!
Este artista era una orquesta el solo!!! Brutal.
Au sommet de son art. About the time when I discovered his music. Unequaled ! Roland I will miss you.
Bello y magistral arreglo, Roland Dyens es único.

Master
Try comparing this to Mattrach's version, recorded when he was 15 years old. Over 2 million views. I think Mattrach cannot be equalled.

Dyens est à la guitare ce que Bach est à la musique.
Entonces Dios bajo de los cielos y dijo:
