Damn, the video was awesome, mixing an amazing project with this way of narrating, i really loved it, we rarely see stuff like this i'd say. Thank you man !
This is legit brilliant. I love this approach at a teaching creativity through the lens of a project. Which feels familar, but so fresh at the saem time. Thank you for your service mate
"Duuude, I watched your video while sitting at work, and it felt like some kind of unplanned therapy session for me :D … in a freaking good way! I totally feel the same way over here!"
I spent a year making a feature length traveling video. What you are describing in this video is the exact battle I was fighting in the "editing gulag". For awhile there, I was shaving scenes by individual frames to achieve more "kineticism". Framing, reframing, and adjusting keyframes by mere pixels to make things look more "even". I ended up editing 2 months over schedule before I realized I would have to just start slapping shit down. In the end, the important thing is to get your art OUT THERE. The perfectionist bug can make things better, sure, but it can also stop a project dead in its tracks if you're not careful. Excellent vid, you have more than earned a sub friend.
Awesome vid!! Expected to see 200k+ views when I first looked. It would have been good to chuck in the finished scene at the end as well, having to go back was a bit jarring and im still not sure if im looking at the right clip. Also maybe a bit much on the parasite side of the vid, the visuals were cool but over mentioning it reduced the impact, probably could have cut the video down a fair bit or replaced these parts with more of the vfx process especially some of those perfectionist details which I was most interested in seeing!! Keep up the good work
A fellow Recovering Perfectionist. I agree with Play. Sorry to nitpick... but I disagree with the parasite and slump. I deal with it differently. I see it more like an eagle able to see from afar and find a target and swoop down to catch its prey. Design is in the details. The skill to build is to be able to Zoom In and Out, and be strategic, knowing when to do it and where in the process. Ultimately, what perfectionism shouldn't do is to stop us from creating, instead, it should drive us to improve, get better, as we aim for the best. This presentation is creative and entertaining, and the perfectionist in you has served you well, I say! Amazing!
So far, this has had the best start of any video I've made both in terms of views, CTR, and view time, with an overwhelmingly positive reception and yet... I've got a feeling you might be right. What did you expect when you clicked?
@DanielDanielsson Whether this statement is true or not, I wouldn't change anything that you did. I've seen plenty of animation tutorials and scene recreation vids on yt, but nothing with this much personality and charm. Original character animations, an introspective look into your creative process, and a little twist at the end. Honestly, just keep doing you. No need to give in to expectations. (The part of your title that says "as a recovering perfectionist" is the whole reason I clicked in the first place. I was hoping it would be more than a typical tutorial.)
I watched the whole video and as a recovering perfectionist myself, I related to what you were saying 100 percent. The issue is, the title of the video gives the impression that it's mostly about creating the project and the steps involved. I feel the reverse was true. This isn't to say I didn't enjoy the video but I humbly suggest that moving forward you make it more obvious what we're about to click on. Maybe it's just the doctor in me that tries to get things done quickly but yh. Again, great video
This recreation anf the whole video, the editing, the humour, the dankness had absolutely no right to be this amazing but im all here for it! ❤
Hmmm... Sounds like something the nitpick would like me to hear... 🤨
No seriously bro, this is one of the most entertaining - and thought provoking - videos i've seen - very motivational! :)
this is hands down the best teaching / entertainment format that has ever been done, well done sir
Thank you!
Damn, the video was awesome, mixing an amazing project with this way of narrating, i really loved it, we rarely see stuff like this i'd say. Thank you man !
Ah man, big merci!
One of the best videos I've ever seen, I really needed this. Thank you!

Thanks man!
Keep up the effort you put in your vids! We appreciate that
Dude thats a crazy good Video
Good to see you back
Amazing video, loved hearing about your own problems with perfectionism
¡Gracias!
I don’t usually comment, but this video was really awesome and engaging, looking forward to the next one! Great work🫡
Feels like I went off the rails with this one, but idk. Any good? 😅
sure, it's a quite tricky epizode, hah
and quite smart approach to art directing
Thank you for sharing this Video. I often find this topic to be one of my biggest challenges.
Just a bit too long, but hilarious and entertaining! Loved the fragment of Dune's song playing for 20 milliseconds after each slight movie reference 😂
Terrific video. The result looks really close, like it's just one of the other variations of that scene 👏
"In the ancient Fremen tongue this planet once had another name... Desert Planet™"
"Nissan Al-Gaib!"
No I didn't notice it, I thought It was the original scene! Really will done!! Can't wait for the next video
Thanks! Felt real sneaky with that one. 😏
Been around since you had 1k followers. That's a really good piece, really good. Hope to see more in the future.
Thanks man! Hoping to start the new year with a bang.
"Duuude, I watched your video while sitting at work, and it felt like some kind of unplanned therapy session for me :D … in a freaking good way! I totally feel the same way over here!"
...THE PRESTIGE
Seriously, that felt like a magic trick
Thats crazily good

Been there. On the whole 2 months over on a one year project isn't _that_ bad. 😭

Thanks man. I feel you, I probably should have cut down on that part. It's by far what took the longest to do.
I loved the part where you unleashed the nitpic at the original. That was so eyeopening! thank you :)
It felt incredibly nitpicky. 😆
This video is the therapy I never knew I needed.
There's something poetic about a video about fighting perfectionism where the narrator is slightly out of focus when he films his own face. Kudos
A highly appropriate (un)happy little accident.
Amazing shot recreation, really nothing to pick for me. Entertaining video for the nerdy perfectionist in all of us!
🙌
Unfortunately the Nitpicus Vulgaris can morph into a Giganto-perfecticus Self-destructus if not delt with properly.
Love these types of videos. 👍
A terrible sight to behold when that happens.

The goat 😎💯💯
Fantastic video 😂
omg are you picking up the mantle of andrew kramer? fantastic tutorial, and amazing presentation!!! thanks!
Wether it falls to me or not, it's a mantle I strive to be worthy of.
No nit pick it 🥲only fuck it 😂 amazing 😍 the way the explains 😅 never watched this concept like this 👏😭🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's a good summary. 🤣
I really hope this means this will be rendered in vr180
pls no
@@DanielDanielsson noone makes good vr 180 content:(
@@bananaear23 It takes so many pixels. 😭
@@DanielDanielsson you can do 2048x2048 x2 but yeah. All the vr content is just lewd stuff or 360 cam which is hard to watch and grainy/low bit rate
Finally
It's been a looooong time. 🎵
I'm sorry man but I think you strayed way too far away from what most of us clicked the video for
