  • David Tuttleman's talk recalls his awakening to the power of cannabis as a medicine. His first experience with medical marijuana is with his sister, who is suffering from stage 4 cancer. Two hours after she asks him for a pot brownie, she is transformed. Then, he learns that his niece, who has been diagnosed with grand mal seizures, has decided to take CBT, the non-psychoactive part of cannabis, and it has stopped her seizures entirely. Tuttleman meets a father in Fishtown who is illegally providing CBT to his baby son, who is suffering through chemo. The CBT makes an enormous difference. As he learns, Tuttleman decides to invest -- he now has a production lab in Las Vegas. The talk's final point is to ask everyone listening to forget the propaganda they have heard, because marijuana IS a powerful medicine.
With a family history deeply rooted in operating successful business entities, David Z. Tuttleman has excelled for more than 30 years across a variety of industries including apparel, real estate development, food & beverage, entertainment philanthropic efforts and more. The experience he encountered during his sister’s illness forever left a mark upon him - one that challenged him to become involved and be part of the future of healthcare. David soon realized that the values instilled by his father when he was only twelve would become the foundation upon which he could plant roots in an effort to touch the world.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Awesome synchronicity. When the letters fall. Perfect moment. It was one of the dumbest staging mistakes I've seen: that the technician came out to set those letters back up while this gentleman gave his talk. Distracting, disrespectful, pointless. Just leave them there until he's done. It happened for a reason.

I too have witnessed the benefits of medical marijuana when my cousin was in the late stages of cancer. As David asks, I have "thought about it" and fully support the use of marijuana and CBT for individuals suffering from cancer and other conditions.

Interesting to see the viewpoint of an average person with real life situations. It’s absolutely great to see PhD’s and scientists speaking but also enlightening to see everyday ppl talking about their experiences.

Cannabis is a medical necessity for all those of us who have been innocently and ignorantly consuming metabolically poisonous polyunsaturated Vegetable oils in our diets and getting one or more of many more modern metabolic diseases. You need to exclude snack, takeaways, restaurant fried and manufactured foods. The solution is to go vegan and take cannabis supplementation until you are better (maybe 2 years or so) while getting all vegetable extract, industrially refined oils out of your diet. You can use some polysaturated animal food-based oil, that in all animal products if you are not quite so worried about living as long as reasonably possible while remaining perfectly healthy.

Hopefully the more legal it becomes the less abused it is. Way to many people use it with no purpose and simply waste time.
