    The Stanley's and Figi's have made it possible for my son to get better. I can't thank them enough for offering to help us at the Realm of Caring. I think the more they get this information out there the better. CBD is helping these children and I love being here in Colorado. We had to move from WV to get help. Sad...federal laws need to change soon!

    • @trig1211
      @trig1211 11 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Though, good people aren't necessarily God fearing people. Especially scientists. By both, you mean God and Science? Can't thank something that doesn't exist. These people did good because they know what it is to do good and more often than not know how it's like to have it bad. Hence, empathy. This is not a religious/spiritual "thing" however much people want it to be.

      I'm an atheist, but I have zero problem with someone thanking "God" for something like this. Scientific knowledge is a glimpse into the unknowable, which is more or less the basic theological definition of what God is. Atheists might find it easier to relate to religious people if the debate over religion and science is reduced to the chiselling away at the unknowable, no matter what your beliefs about God happen to be.

    • @trig1211
      @trig1211 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i say thank god as a figure of speech as well, the problem is intent. i have a problem when people attribute hard work, scientific inquiry, etc to a fantasy. you saying you're an atheist gives me no context of who you are. atheists are by all means fallible in their thought process.

      Ben Hilton I'm saying prayers for you and your family, Ben. I've been through it, too. My son is a grown man, and he still has seizures. He takes Kepra, which controls the seizures better than anything else, but he recently had a breakthrough seizure while I was visiting with him and his sisters. No parent wants to see their child suffer, no matter what age he or she is. That familiar feeling of complete helplessness and terror because you can't do anything to stop the seizures is...well, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

    Our 5 year old daughter has epilepsy, and was having seizures every 4 minutes according to her EEG. Her neurologist prescribed Zarontin, but we didn't feel comfortable going that route. A family member/RN suggested we look into studies being done on CBD, and we ran across Charlotte's Web. She had her first bottle this summer, and we noticed a difference overnight! She wasn't dazed and was back to the "pre-seizure" daughter we knew. She has been great ever since! Her teacher told us she (like us) noticed that she rarely has seizures, and to keep doing whatever we're doing. Thank you, Stanley Brothers!

    One of the best talks I've ever seen. Very moving. The stigma/taboo & myths around Cannabis, need to stop. I'm exhausted with all the pills being handed out like candy and then controlled, and the medical community (doctors, hospitals) drug testing for marijuana on patients that should be using marijuana. Meanwhile, medicines that don't work, being changed repeatedly and the patients not having any improvement because cannabis is NEVER even suggested. Things must change, and access to it should also. Thank you for being so incredibly frank and passionate to find something that works for so many people and hopefully the world SOON. (Just have to put all of our voices together so we are ALL heard over FDA & other groups that are trying to keep people from the freedom to choose.)

    If this little girl, and her family doesn’t warm your heart, and convince you that Marijuana should be removed from Schedule 1, you are a heartless monster and should be forever shunned by the rest of humanity. The fact that people actually go to jail for doing everything they can to alleviate the suffering of these little ones, truly sickens me and shows that not only are there monsters in our midst, but that it's these ghouls that actually rule the world. This is not a “conspiracy theory” and you don't need to where “a tin foil hat” to see that this is not right. I’m sure there is a special level in hell for people that can justify their beliefs that “these hippies just want to get high” and who cares about a “bunch of stoners anyway“, while at the same time there popping every pill the doctor says they need, and washing them down with alcohol, because it‘s legal to do so. May God have mercy on your wretched souls.

      Medical Marijuana can be helpful to so many people with various conditions, but legalizing it comes with so many issues. So many people would make fake conditions to gain access to “medical” marijuana. Even though the legalization is for medical, recreational users will always find a way to get around this. That being said, your comment that people who don’t support legal medical marijuana are horrible people is overdramatic. Many people who don’t support it feel that way because of the people who would abuse it. In this video, one case is examined and if that is expected to be enough for people to change their minds that’s wrong. Yes, it’s a very touching story, but no, not all stories end up this way. Using the story of a sweet young girl and her family is a manipulation tactic used by the person telling the story. When people see a sick child get better, their immediate response is to support whatever made this possible. This however, is not enough information to change someone’s mind about an issue that is so important.

      But Emily, haven't you heard him saying that they were able to isolate the THC (the thing that actually makes you stoned)? If this gets regulated, people that need it can have access to MJ that is not only not a drug, but also a powerful medicine.

    • @Kojitsu
      @Kojitsu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Emily Fauser Except that there isn't just one case and that was made clear during his talk. Also, CBD doesn't get you high, what would he have to gain from "manipulating" people into using it? He developed the strain Charlotte's Web specifically for her condition, this isn't just regular cannabis that people are smoking recreationally.

    The funny thing is, the question: "we're gonna give a 5 year old cannabis!?", is probably a legit question that would raise much debate and concern. But if a doctor says that they are going to place her on any of the 15 meds she was currently on... no red flags. Wake up people! I hate to use the word but most American's, and people in general seriously are sheeple.

    Im not sure why we need to point out that it makes you less high than other strains, as being high from cannabis is probably more beneficial for society as it would stop war and make people happier and less worry and stress. Thats why its called being 'high' because you are on a higher vibration which means positivity not negativity.

    Long needed and greatly appreciated. We may never know the full extent to which marijuana can help people unless and until it quits being treated as a "hippy" drug. Legalization, taxation, regulation and proper controls on growth and production are necessary. Why shouldn't we have ALL healing products available?

    An important little correction: CBD does not actually bind to the receptors in the brain, it binds to the CB2 receptor, which is throughout the body, but not in the brain. It is the CB1 receptor that is the most abundant type of receptor in the brain, and its the THC that binds to that. High THC strains have also work for epilepsy, but I understand the special approach for children. However since CBD does not work the same on its own (if it did, these families could buy CBD legally extracted from hemp in all US states, but it does not work like a high CBD strain of marijuana, so, the magic ingredient is not only CBD), there is synergy with that small amount of THC that makes for the overall medicine.
    Just pointing that out for those who jump on the band wagon saying there should be only high CBD marijuana with no THC at all!
    GW Pharmaceuticals and others have found, for most illnesses, a 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD generally produces the best results for most illnesses. Unless someone is highly sensitive to THC, then a high CBD strain is required.
    Just pointing out that THC is just as important as CBD. THC is ALSO a powerful antioxidant and neuro-protector, just like CBD. The 2 work best together.

    • @JN003
      @JN003 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you happen to know the percentage of the 1:1 ratio ? I haven't come across any strain that was eg 50% THC and 50% CBD. Its usually 20% THC and 0.5% CBD or something similar.

    • @keithmaynard1722
      @keithmaynard1722 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the most consistent 1:1 strains available just now, are either clone only (tested so you know its content), or, from seed, the 'CBD Crew' seed company seem to be the only ones with consistent ratios grown from seed. Varying from around 5% THC 5%CBD to 10% THC and 10%CBD. When the ratios are close to 1:1, it is even more effective, meaning you can take a smaller dosage and still get the same results as if you were taking a higher dose of a 'regular strain' of commercial weed. The synergy of the cannabinoids enhance each others effect. If you had a mainly 'THC only' strain, or a 'CBD only' strain, you would follow the protocol of upping the dosage as you develop tolerance, however with the 1:1 ratios, (or as close to that ratio as possible) you do not need to up the dosage so much to get the same benefits. One other option, is to make the oil from any regular strain 20% THC 0.5% CBD range, then supplement that with CBD extracted from hemp. (not hemp seed). CBD from hemp on its own is not nearly as effective, but, it can be used in combination to increase the CBD levels and make the THC oil more effective.

      Westword, Denver's arm of New Times, ran a great article about this a few years ago. Pharma and tobacco can't figure out how to CONTROL cannabis and harness its profitability. As a matter of fact, Colorado's limits on growing make it impossible for Big Tobacco to monopolize. But the Big Three have many politicians on both sides of the aisle in their pockets: keep an eye out for tax laws, medical definitions, and growing regulations that seem tailor-made for industrial pot. Laws have already been announced to curtail pot edibles.

    Speaking as a person that has had epilepsy for over 15 years.Seeing a little child go through this far more severe then me is something that proves she has abundant strength and her doctors etc have common since. Natural meds are always best. One of my "prescription medications" Dilantin is a 95% reason why I now have diabetes also.

      Kevin Williams My son was on Dilantin, Depakote and several other drugs that I can't recall right now. Dilantin was by far the worst drug. His seizures weren't controlled, his head hurt constantly, and he was very depressed all the time. I didn't know it caused diabetes, though. It's really, messed up that you have that disease now. I wish there was a cure for epilepsy and diabetes. Are you still taking Dilantin?

    • @diesel21485

      If you listen to the example he uses, "Ben", he got on Medicinal Marijuana so he could get high. He did so by claiming to have back pain. This was a widely used excuse to get a Medical Marijuana card so that they could smoke recreationally. That is the "back pain epidemic" he is speaking of, not people with valid pain.
