I was diagnosed with ADD, OCD, mild depression, insomnia, and an anxiety disorder. I was prescribed two medications per ailment. I had to take 10 pills, 2-3 times per day. It made me very anti-social, lethargic, and almost in a coma like state. Then one night I apparently went out driving at 1am and ran into a power line and took out a bus stop sign. I have no recollection of this at all because I was experiencing a severe sleep walking episode due to all of the prescriptions. That was the LAST time I ever took that crap from a pharmacy. I got my medical cannabis card and I have now replaced 30 dangerous pills per day by one medicine. I am no longer feeling any of my symptoms and can fully function. I finished school and am now a physicist. I would not have been able to do that while on all those toxic prescriptions. Cannabis is the healthiest substance on earth. We should love it. Everyone should.

+James Benton Ticer Good on you, James!! I think all the time about how the opiate/heroin addicts could be stepped down and weaned off with the help of cannabis. They walk around town like zombies, and it is infuriating to see politicians/DEA straight up lie about a plant. They want you to believe that cannabis is drugs, and Big Pharmaceutical is medicine. It's the other way around... plants are medicine and their chemicals are drugs. People are finally waking up to this. Peace

+James Benton Ticer Nice. It's really hard for me to grasp how people can be so stubborn about the positive results people are getting from these plants. I think if there is one positive thing that the prescription drug abuse epidemic is bringing to light is that these insanely numbing pain killers, anxiety medications, etcetera are far more addictive and dangerous than cannabis.

I've been smoking daily for 15 years(to treat severe panic attacks) up until 10 days ago when I quit. I never thought there was REAL withdrawal symptoms, but I promise you, there are AWFUL side affects. I think Marijuana is a miracle when used appropriately, and with proper dosage and timing. Overuse, as I have learned, actually flips the situation and makes things worst. I realized that the medicine I was using to self treat was actually causing panic attacks and general anxiety. Moderation is absolutely key and I'm learning the hard way. The sad part is, with it STILL being federally illegal, it leaves almost no room for researchers to discover how beneficial is can be in moderation - but how bad quitting can be when overused.

Far more than so-called hard drugs, and for sure more under the radar when it comes to such, most / many people ridicule it's powers in this area, which just shows how little knowledge is often embraced towards the entire aspect.

I quit smoking weed after being a recreational daily smoker for 10+ years. My anxiety levels are down, my energy levels are up, I’m more charismatic like I used to be, and I actually get things done now. I agree there may be some benefits with cannabis use, however I believe it’s not for everyone and what it may give you in one hand it takes away from you with the other hand. That’s just my opinion on it.

It's a great plant but certainly affects people differently. I'm 32 now and smoke less than I used to. I look at it now as an occasional treat. If I do it too often I eat junk food and feel lazy but once in a while it's really nice. It's certainly far less harmful than booze. I quit alcohol last year and not once have I had a hangover or said things I dont mean or behaved in a way that I regret. It really does need to be fully legalized already. been a stoner for about a decade now. Its weighing down on me alot. Been feeling a major burnout, realizing how dependent i am on it and the toll its taking on me has been destroying my focus. My focus when im at home and not getting the things done that need done and even though i dont smoke at work, its driven me down a road of damn near incompetence. Weed, alcohol, really just about anything can be good or bad depending how much you choose to indulge yourself in, but most cant deal with consistent everyday smoking without it ruining them in some shape or form. Ive taken heavy notice not only from myself but looking around me at other fellow stoners just like myself, we can say were not addicted, that its fine but we lie to ourselves thinking we can control it. Those who do it RECREATIONALLY control it. Those who feel the NEED to just have a hit even just a few times throughout the day; just keep in mind its controlling you. Took a real hard long look at myself to figure that out. You dont need a hit or a glass of whiskey everyday to take the edge off. If you do, you are dependent.

I believe that. I also think it's very important not to get too high when you aren't experienced. But just a small dose a little at a time can help people rewire their brain and move away from neurotic behavior, but too much can just make it way worse. Timing and dose are very important.

I was diagnosed with anxiety & depression after awaking from a coma caused by a motorcycle accident that got me pulled from medical school. My pcp wanted to put me on an SSRI but already knowing the common potential side effects, I told her that I had it covered. She was so baffled & I asked her to remember what was one of the 1st things my lil brother told you when I was planning to join the family? I reminded her that my lil bro told her that I was a pot head through hs, but since I was a straight A student & a band geek, I never got in trouble for it.since I was a good kid. Marijuana has been legal in my Alaska since I was a kid. I use it medicinally only needing to medicate once or twice a month depending on what my body tells me where my cortisol levels are. Cannabis is medicine, not a drug!

I started smoking cannabis at 27 and I actually quit taking my antidepressants and its definitely a massive change. I still have anxiety and some panic attacks only if the anxiety isn't under control, so I'm learning about my body each day, understanding the signals and I know when to light up and when to just focus on breathing, mediation, talking with my support system until I am good. My husband has seen a massive difference just in my energy and sleep. In the beginning I was irritable but I knew about the withdrawals because during my 11 years of taking antidepressants I stopped taking it for a few days on and off. I just didn't feel like myself while on those antidepressants, looking back at my childhood I never had any mental health issues, not until I was a sophomore in high school. So I question every day since being off my antidepressants was I misdiagnosed? I don't blame my parents one bit because they didn't know what to do and I truly think Drs just push these drugs for money instead of actually looking into the patient and understanding why they feel that way.

I completely replaced lexapro for depression and painkillers for several painful injuries with the Acapulco gold strain of weed and my life is terrific now. Antidepressant withdrawl was the lowest point in my entire life and I was a full blown oxycontin addict 15 years ago so thats saying sonething...I smoke daily when I get home from work as despite the fatigues of the day it gives me great focus to plod theough my chores and get things done Less pain and less anxiety and depression, What more could I ask for? What more could anyone ask for really, on this lousy noisy stressful rock were all trapped on. I'm productive and chatty and work is going well (plumber). My kids love me and aren't afraid of me and my wife sees the improvement in my outlook and the way I flow through the world with ease now... And it doesn't seem to dull my emotions like the antidepressants did so I feel alive and human again. I treat it like a medicine and it treats me like the sick person that I am. Life changer for me personally. Highly recommend this strain in particular as It hasn't been messed around with and is an ancient strain. Try it, I think you might just enjoy it!

look into vaporizing the dry herb... a dry herb vaporizer like Extreme EQ or portable hand held like Fury 2. smoking can increase hydrolyzed proteins as the action is hydrolytic . vaping provides more catalytic activity as those precursor acid compounds can be delivered in the vapor too along with the decarboxylated forms later on during the vape sesh. Edit- start vaping @ about 360 to 375 F. go up in increments as you vape through the sesh... a water assisted device will help cool vapor if you vape through it.

    great talk.
    i would’ve included a 3rd category: consciousness expansion.
most openminded people realize exactly why it was demonized in the ’30’s. the pharmaceutical industry stood to lose major profits. so, they coerced as well as infiltrated the FDA to criminalize it.
also, one of the fairly common side effects is paranoia. this can be easily overcome by using hybrid strains (proper combined breeding of cannabis sativa and cannabis indica; where the former is the alert and the latter is the drowsy catalyst), resulting in as close to an ideal means of achieving a steady state of well-being, with or without meditation.
IMO, if it’s used as an expander, it will rarely if ever cause overuse or misuse.
    peace to all beings!

Whenever i smoke pot, i feel really self conscious, kinda anxious(i don't really understand what anxiety is), thoughts jump so rapidly and my brain is so occupied that i almost become lost.
So i like to smoke alone
But that makes me almost socially extinct. So i quit pot...
    Only me?

CBD helps a lot with the plants metabolism for some people... some people love THC all day and others some CBD mixed in... you can get CBD from peppercorn... just chew on one or two peppercorns for anxiety relief...
