I remember watching this as a kid and being fascinated by every aspect of his services in Washington and in California. The band playing this rendition was probably the most memorable for me.
I've seen quite a few presidential funerals but this one seemed to be one of the most elegant and beautiful ones ever. Nancy knew what she was doing. She wanted the whole world to know that there was no president like this one. Everything was great a top shelf... All the speakers at the funeral were so emotional and moving. I have never forgotten the marine corps band and corral playing and singing the battle him of the republic at the funeral. It is literally one of the most beautiful renditions I have ever heard.
No U.S. President in recent time has by himself done so much to restore faith in his nation, uphold the honor of his country in the international community, and provide security to the free world than this man. May God bless Ronald Reagan, and God preserve his legacy and the United States of America.
I remember being only 8 when this happened but we had it on the tv and my parents wouldn't change it though hail to the chief with the cannons was the only part I remember though now being a big Republican Reagan must be the best damn President ever not only the US and at the time I wondered why my dad cried when it happened and I realize he had the best reason to cry God bless America and all its people, life is a gift and we should all treat it like one like President Reagan
I visited the President Ronald W.Reagan Library, Museum & his grave on 9/11/2004. I enjoyed my visit there. Ronald W.Reagan grew up American Working Class, I related much more to him than the other Presidents of the 20th.Century. Ronald Reagan loved the same sports teams I love, also the state of California. My thinking is a lot along the Ronald Reagan lines of thinking. His death & the death of the late John F. Kennedy had a major impact on my, they were both of Irish ancestry, both loved St. Patrick’s Day, both loved the United States, both loved Ireland, and both were loved in the Philippines.

The Battle Hymn moved him at his inauguration. It's only fitting that it also plays when he's laid to rest.
U damn right kid !
This music was president Reagan favorite, till his end.
They played a battle hit on the republic for almost all president that die.

I was 9 years old when he died, and this is the only part of the funeral I remember.
To this day it still hit me, even thou this was back in 2004.
a fitting tribute to a great man

Who is watching this in 2021?! I am, and may Mr Reagan and miss Reagan rest for ever.
I was there that day, not as close as this video shows. I was in line waiting for the public to be permitted in after the state funeral.
I feel sorry for the widows who have to grieve in public on these occasions.
To see Nancy reach out and touch the President's casket as it passed by... What a sight and what a remarkable woman.
