Regarding the small nodes, you need to go in the 3 dots menu in the top right hand corner of your node graph, and untick "show thumbnails". I started to do this when doing look development as sometimes, I tend to have a lot of nodes and I feel like the thumbnail view doesn't really add anything special :)
