Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the update, and showing us what it actually means. I really appreciate how you teach and share your experiences. Yes, i press the FTB button by mistake almost every week. I will be disabling this button.
Nice one. You did better explaining the output from USB connection but, you don’t need to down another camera to get the output. You now have it under the network. So, You can just go to network and as you have mentioned in other parts your ATEM will now show as option which it wasn’t available before.
The new usb output can not only be the multi view. It can be program, preview, ssrc, clean, any input. It could be excellent for streaming content with graphics when hdmi shows clean or the opposite, maybe converting the usb to another HDMI to have 3 different outputs
Major drawback on the USB out. It has two usb outs, but only ONE option to change the source on the atem software, and it makes BOTH output the same thing. If I want to run the ATEM into VMix with one usb webcam out from program on the ATEM, I cannot use the other usb port out on the ATEM Mini Extreme to send something different. It changes both USB ports on the ATEM to the same thing. IF they split that to options for EACH port, it would be better...at least I think unless I am missing something
yes you are missing the point of being happy and thankfull this was done. Instead you are nagging to get more. How many people you think need 4 seperate controllable outputs? I for instance always have a usb drive on one of the usb ports but I guess you never record with your extreme.
@@computerjantje interesting choice of words like nagging, but thanks for the reply. I guess a guy cannot make suggestions for a feature set, or they are nagging according to you. Instead of asking why a certain feature set would be useful...you just go straight to condescending...
I assume you can only use the USB-C for one type of output, so in our case we use the USB-C for recording to an external drive, so I assume we cannot use for the monitor view as well.
Hi John I think so too. I’m still figuring out the purpose of making this an option because most of the time the hard disk recording option is the top priority for the use of the usb-c port . An alternative would be to use the hdmi out to a laptop and use OBS to record but that would be the same anyways 🤷🏽♂️
@@StephLeeTech I have read elsewhere that folks who have upgraded to 9.5 are having problems recording out of the USB-C even though they did that before. Going to wait before I upgrade! Thanks for all your videos.
Yes that is true. With the Atem models with one usb port you have to chose between recording or usb cam output. You cannot connect a usb splitter and then get both. If you really need two usb ports buy the extreme model. By the way it is possible to connect a usb splitter and connect two recording harddrives and that is the only reason to connect a usb splitter. Be sure it is a 3.* splitter otherwise your usb speed will become too low to record proper. Ofcourse your connected drive also has to be fast enough.
😂😂 What I mean is: Is it possible to fine-tune ATEM ISO's camera cuts in DaVinci in real-time while recording with it? I'd like to make adjustments during the recording to improve the final product ASAP. I was thinking if there was a way to leverage what you did in 11:19.
Hi! Sorry I don't quite understand your question as well, because that is what it can do right now: the clips from your camera are updated to your Media Pool in real-time, and you are able to make edits on the fly.
Hey Steph I have 2 quick questions. Are you using a USB C to USB C cable to connect your Mac to the ATEM MINI PRO Extreme & if so where would you plug your SSD hard drive since the USB C port is being used by your MacBook?
Hi Matt Yes I am using USB-C to USB-C cable (but it could be USB-C to USB-A depending on what port you have on your Mac/laptop). I would assume you are using the Atem Minis with only one USB-C port? Unfortunately if you only have 1 port, that would not be available for your SSD for recording. A workaround I can think of would be connecting your HDMI Out port to another computer and record using OBS or another monitor that has a recording function.
@@StephLeeTech I have the Athem Mini Pro ISO. I wanted to know if I use my MacBook Pro (2017 version with 2 usb c ports on the side) as a monitor by using the HDMI out port with a HDMI to USB C cable could I still have my SSD drive plugged into the USB C port in Atem Mini Pro Iso at same time?
@@ItsMattAlexander The Atem Mini Pro ISO only has 1 USB-C port, so if you use that for the monitor you can't use it for the SSD drive recording. You need to have 2 USB-C ports on the Atem Mini, which currently only the Extreme models have.
Does this update mean the four hdmi inputs can be output through one usb-C port and show up as separate sources in a live-streaming client like Ecamm? I want to see the separate sources and switch between them in Ecamm, not using the ATEM to switch cams.
Hi Steph. Nice explination. Thanks. I am concern by loosing the multicam/audio visio recording funktion by Using The usb C port for the new multiview solution. So do you you know if is any work around for record iso filés at same time.? You Said that is only by using the HDMI output for recordings. But this Will only record the final program. hi Thomas! Thank you for watching. Right now the only workaround i can think of is recording via the cloud method if your USB port is taken up by the multiview method.
To EVERYONE who wants to record on ssd AND use the usb port also for camera output on a "one usb port" Atem: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. No also not with a usb splitter. Stop nagging to want for more on the already best cheapest video switcher of its generation and buy the Extreme if you want everything. The Extreme has two usb ports and two hdmi out ports.

Well done video Steph. Subbed!
Thank you!! 😁
thank you for the video. very clear to the point explaination
