I came out of a Huracan into a 992 Turbo S and haven’t looked back. For me it fits right up there with Supercars I’ve owned and value it as one too. Porsche tried to give it more of a GT feel and when selecting PDCC and PASM/Sport PASM it stiffens up and has more of that GT character. Honestly doubt I’ll sell mine.
I had a 991.2 gt3 for a few years then changed for a 992 Targa GTS which I didn’t gel with. Have a Boxster 4.0 GTS currently which is good fun but going to get back into a 911, just deciding between a gt3 touring or turbo s cab, which woujd you recommend
Interesting choices. I considered 992 GT3 but the ‘non-touring’ felt too hard on the road. I’ve heard a touring is still more stiff than a 991.2 GT3. I tried the 991.2 and found it very good as a daily but comfort wise the turbo feels like a Bentley level of comfort. Not as loud as a 4.0 NA of course but on balance I wanted speed and comfort. As said in the video, the noise is pleasant. Way better than my 991.2 Turbo S was with stock exhaust. My choice would be turbo but I can see why people choose touring.
@@Kinskiii Nah bro, we're at the end of the Era. I have a 2023 992.1 911s. I love the car. It’s absolutely amazing and fun to drive. I am thinking about upgrading in 5 or. 6 years to a turbo s. I was going to go for a GTS but it’s ev. That turbo s 2.5 secs 0-60. That’s unbelievable
Max. Yes You certainly enjoyed that review drive! Massive Thanks to Ryan? Bryan? ... And yes spec'd to perfection. The everyday " Sports/ Super " car. Forget all the Italian nonsense! That red brand doesn't come close! The new 911.2 Hybrid. GTS would be the ( perhaps?) the one to have. Could Porsche become a victim of their success? Even where I live, so many Porsche cars and SUVs... All that said if, money was no object... a BMW M2 or ( out there !) M4 Competition CS... Again, Max, spot on review. With passion! 👍👌
AWD doesn't help if you have baloney skin slicks and not all season mud and snow or best all terrain tires. Driving in snow you need the right tires and clearance. The front end is too low to drive in snow.
Well, as far as unlimited road versions in the 911 range are concerned, you are driving the top of the range. To say it should be the (potential) buyer’s choice is maybe a wee bit exaggerated, because the end price (costly and numerous options included) is going to drastically shorten the list of interested clients for a 911. And the business of figuring out whether the Turbo S is a sports car or a super car seems a bit vain too. Isn’t it simply an astounding all round GT ? I mean it’s by no means a GT3 or GT3 RS and does’t drive or feel like one. All 911ses are sports cars, some of them destined primarily for track use. Full stop. 😎
When you repeatedly say a car is “clinical” and “too good” that’s not necessarily a compliment in a sports car, which, after all, should have a lot of feel. I drive a 992.1 Carrera T which has rear-wheel drive, less weight and much less power. But in my area (New York City area) there’s nowhere I can make use of the power even my car has except on a race track. I’m not really convinced there’s much to be gained by getting an even faster car, because while you’d be faster in a straight line, you won’t be in corners, and fast really isn’t the end all, be all anyway. What is true of the 992 is that it’s very comfortable, a nice place to go long distance as well, yes the interior is beautiful, the engine note is not the most exciting ever heard but overall its wonderful…and I'd always get rearwheel steering, love it!
Great video Max! Loving your reviews! I used to own the 991 Turbo S and that was phenomenal performance! (Comfortable too!) But lacked in sound, and soul, not much can touch it in performance but it’s how it makes you feel? The 992 Turbo S of course is better and even faster, but how does it make you feel against something like a 5 litre supercharger, with instant power and glorious sound? Yes The Porsche is faster, but is it as much fun?
Hey Simon! Thank you and thanks for tuning in 👍 The Turbo S is in a different category as you will know. You can’t beat the sound of a 5L supercharger but I’d take the Porsche all day for driving feel
Perfect 992 Turbo S very fast excellent. It has very good suspension abeilt a tad too slow rebound on fast bumpy roads. Solid engine horrible muted sound because of the restrictive cats and the OPF filters. Its a yes no yes no yes and then a NO. I'll keep my 993 Turbo!
