The issue is that most people who play seamless usually do it to avoid invasions. I'm sure it won't take long before 90% of seamless players turn off their invasion settings.
This is why I don't agree with people who say that Fromsoftware should have just added seamless co-op to Elden ring in a patch. There needs to be some drawbacks to it and invasions are one part of that but you shouldn't be able to just disable it by just changing some settings in a menu.
nah people play seamless for a better coop experience and it even enables 6 man in open world which is something base game fails to do u can ride on torrent share progression and items and rest together without being sent to the world nobody plays it to avoid invasions yeah they are a drawback of the coop but being sent to ur world and no torrent and sent after every boss is much more of a pain in the ass than invaders

I mean that's not an issue. 100% of people who play seamless coop do it to play the game seamlessly together... I don't think it has anything to do with invasions.
They are very likely gonna have at least some form of it in the next game. FromSoft know about the mod and have said they'd maybe like to implement something like it in the next game(s).

@@monsieurdorgat6864 Yeah I absolutely LOATHED DS2 when it first came out because it wasn't enough like Dark Souls 1, but it's become my second favorite that's arguably aged better than the first. DS3 feels like fanfiction written by someone who couldn't think of something new to do like DS2 did. Out of all the games Miyazaki has worked on, DS3 gave off the biggest "I really don't want to be doing this" vibes imo.
@@bobaorc7839 I would say that DS3 was developed for the exact guy who liked watching Vaati's lore vid about Artorias but hated the gameplay of DS1 too much to play it. And also hates invaders (same guy). So it wasn't an accident that half of the new fanbase (DS1 had approx the same peak players as DS2, but DS3 newbs outnumber old fans 5:1) were crappy Artorias cosplays named Guts who abused whatever was meta at the time. DS3 is absolutely the most cringe souls game. DS2 was where I learned to love the multiplayer. I miss Otzdarva so, so much 😭 and just the super chill and fun attitude the DS2 community tended to have.
They really should have tried to make 6 player connections the default experience with the DLC, even if it was only available in the DLC areas. Also, they should have added some kind of substitute for Covenants like the Aldrich Faithfuls and Mound Makers, make them into usable items or something. Elden Ring's online experience is atrocious and has somehow regressed to be less than Dark Souls 1 in terms of online features, how does DS3 have better online functionality with more options for player interaction than Elden Ring? Multiplayer is always at the bottom of their priority list when making these games, but this time felt like multiplayer was a last minute afterthought more than any other game.
DS3 has better online performance because the levels are tiny by comparison. When you play with someone, you have to synchronize the whole world and all the enemies (and mini animals, in ERs case) in it along with the players. Makes for a bigger packet to exchange. And how well that exhanges depends on the quality of both player's internet, which varies by region and how much they pay. So you have to dev assuming fairly low bandwidth, even if many players have good enough bandwidth. Elden Ring struggles to sync even 4 players across a huge world, and 6 is 50% more to sync and exchange between all parties. Combine that with broader reach, meaning more casual gamers and their bad internet, and you have a recipe for disaster.
@@monsieurdorgat6864 I wasn't really talking about literal performance, but I can understand why they would limit the player cap in the open world if it resulted in poor(er) connection quality... but not for relatively small spaces that are in almost every way cut off from the open world, and are more akin to areas from previous games in terms of size and scale. If they could do it in Anor Londo, they can do something similar in the Hero's Graves, or if that scope is too large perhaps instead the numerous and smaller Caves and Catacombs, of course that would require them to create a system that accounts for different instances having different player caps while inside them.
@@michaelbowman6684 Yeah, they would. And in general, the bigger issue is that Fromsoftware, starting with DS3, has increasingly done more to cater to the anti-PvP audience. Which is a mistake. It just makes them even bolder and ask for even more. Elden Ring players outnumber DS3 players 5:1, and DS3 players outnumber old fans 5:1 (DS1 and DS2 had similar max player counts). So old fans who actually like invasions that didn't suck are outnumbered 25:1. Invasions are doomed, and the community might be doomed with it.
@@WinstonWolfe21 no. er community thinks that they are networking experts and believe all sorts of myths. p2p connection quality depends on internet speed(you need to meet minimum download/upload speed requirements. if you have good internet increasing internet speed further won't improve latency), country and isp. latency is mirrored when you see laggy player you are also laggy for them. packet loss is relative. if you play with your friend and third person joins session most of time he will not be laggy both of you. main advantage that psn has over steam is player base. 80% psn players are in eu and usa. meanwhile half of steam users are in china where people have great firewall bad internet and vpns. psn also have hardware advantage since it's a console everyone have same hardware. on pc people have tons of potato pcs. non stable fps also affects latency.
@@WinstonWolfe21 people also believe that eac increases latency which is not true. eac is heavy process which has kernel level access. it will affect your performance more if you have bad pc. if someone has 250 ms using seamless which has no eac won't magically improve your and his latency.
@@WinstonWolfe21 in short psn is better for average connection quality compared to pc. if you have friend who is laggy on pc he will still be laggy on psn.
Its always the biggest turn off for my more casual friends, being the hassle of re summoning, waiting for everyone to die. Now we get spectator, pokimon battles, and less headache, not to mention the connection upgrade of seamless. really excited for to be on both ends of this. Fingers crossed for tongues so we can have teamfights!
So fun. Hosts do not get notified that invader has entered world. So you be a sneaky boy. Sounds kinda op until you remember that seamless co op players are gonna be almost always 2 players if not 3 so the stealth is super needed for entertaining fights. Flash forward to present day. I think this was patched so you do get notified now. Lame
Now if they added a feature for solo invasions (I do not mean the taunters tongue), with sensible invasion cooldown periods like in the previous Dark Souls titles, it might help with PvP longevity in the future.
Now all they have to do is add a ping filter. If they are so bold they can even pull a Titanfall 2 Northstar Mod and make a colosseum matchmaking system. I can dream.
This is actually such a massive improvement over normal invasions, not only is it not area locked but you also lose a significant portion of the added toxicity which is forcing people to resummon when you beat them or hosts continually resummoning against you. If more people get the updated mod I hope this sees a majority of the playerbase begin moving to the mod instead.
Can mod myself to be purple? Can fuck around with the settings and just make myself a purple phantom from ds3 with enough time spent learning. Ahhh glorious
I notice that invaders are able to use some type of item to teleport to the host of fingers! How do I do this people? I'm sick of spawning as an invader in stupid locations!
People are just going to turn this off or have cheats on. And as if we need more reason to split the community from the base game which was the problem in the first place. This is already ignoring the insane level difference people have throughout the entire game unlike previous titles, lack of covenants, and no single person invasions, summoning pools and respawns at boss doors, which were all already an issue even before the DLC. As for torrent, I can just imagine people riding away forever. Combat on torrent in the first place is super limited. No Ashes of War, single weapon limited move-set, no standard i-frames dodges, slowing down to do actions such as casting. And then there's the i-frames people get for mounting and dismounting which will make catching people worse. If anything it sounds like pain.
Theres good and bad things that come with this. The good is that you'll only invade people that want to fight, since it's a toggle. Most likely they will fight rather than run, though there's still a chance off a runaway troll. You can host/join more easily and the connections seem to be a better quality that base game. The negatives of course it splits the community. As there's a toggle and there will be less people to invade. I'm also not sure if here's any balancing yet.
@@kooltube100 It splits the community not just because of the toggle. It splits it even more now. You don't connect with people that aren't using the mods at all. The people in the base game are using Fromsoft's matchmaking servers. Before it was the base game and also the modded game. They don't interact with eachother. It really screwed the invasion pool horribly, which is super noticeable for people like me with an Australian time zone. Actually noone to invade a lot of the time outside of the 3vs1 First Step and Lake of Liurnia one sided gank squads. But now instead of the two groups. It's going to be three. Base Game, Modded with toggle on, and Modded with toggle off. People avoiding PvP and never getting to experience it will remain with the toggle off. But now the people willing to do PvP will be in both base game and the Modded game with toggle on. Unable to interact with eachother. For PvP on PC, this mod has been and still is a detriment for the already limited invasions and duels and this imo just makes it even worse. Dark Souls 3 PvP and invasions lasted for years compared to Elden Ring. Unlike the Seamless mod. Mods like Blue Sentinel, Watchdogs, and Wex Dust were actually great benefits for the community.
@@ElectroShadowAngel yeah totally agree. Though I kinda hope from learns from this and improves their invasion/coop mechanics in future games. There's so much qol in the mod that should be a part of the base game. I mean seamless coop and base game coop can easily co-exist (I do like cooping with random and not progressing my own game). I regards to Invasion I do agree with the mod and should be an optional toggle. As previous games have shown a host would rather just jump of a ledge or altf4, if they simply don't want invaders. Making invading a pain/bore
@@ElectroShadowAngel blame fromsoft, the Modded version runs WAAAAAYY better than the Anticheat blue bear version. Combine with how much of a hassle they made the coop elden ring experience. Fromsoft learned nothing from the base game to add to the DLC. Not to mention worried about splitting the community? 90% of people are going to play the game beat it and never pick it up again. Thats just life. Fromsoft could have seen how popular seamless COOP was and added that to the DLC with invasions etc and balanced it and fixed their Anticheat to not be such a performance hog. Also the DLC has been very MEH in terms of new weapons and gear. Its more of the same with very little risks taken.
@@ElectroShadowAngel either way pvp will suffer because the majority of the player base with seemless or base game either does not like invasions or are mostly indifferent to it. Most people who play the mod are just simply there to mess around with friends and have a solid coop of the game. That’s just the blessing and the curse of PC gaming. You don’t have to settle for an experience that the majority of the players see as subpar, whether it’s just really bad netcode, constant disconnects and messing to resummon and do everything multiple times (defeat bosses, light graces, collect items, talk to Npcs) dealing with consistent invasions by players who rush to end game gear and aow’s who invade you and your new buddy mid fight with some world boss and then you have to head back slap a sign down and repeat a few times before you beat the boss. Base game you can’t just explore the game with friends without being constantly interrupted in my time zone. And even if you win a fight or 2 against invaders you have to go back and reset because now your summon buddy used his 2 flasks because unlike the invaders you faced who ran around collecting tears and seeds at the very beginning of the game you just played the game as a story instead of as a pvp game. And I say this as a guy who is primarily a PvPer so it hurts me a bit. But of the 6 or so buddies who I talk to who still play Elden ring 2 years after its release, I’m the only one who has any interest in doing PVP stuff. I have gotten some guys more interested in doing it with the better connection and less hassle with the mod though so that may change. But now 2 years later I can say I believe it is far more likely that without the mod most of the players who play it would just not play Elden ring or would just play it solo with spirit summons and PVP would still be in a poor state on PC because the game in general is just in a poor state on PC so a lot of people just avoid any multiplayer aspects of it as much as possible
The one and only things I was disappointed about in the DLC is how the coop system has not been touched and made more seamless. The way it is just isn't fun. Kill one boss too many? Locked out of coop in a massive open-world. Find a cave? Can't enter, have to resummon etc.
Think the issue is that but also there's no eac etc and as such chances are you're going to run into other mods and cheats that way. Many people use seamless coop for coop and because you can add other cool mods for weapons or armor or ashes or war etc. Honestly despite that it should be pretty cool to see what actually happens and some of the hilarious and fun invasions that may happen and then the way people troll cheaters with God mode etc.
@@yulfine1688 If you check the mods description for invasions and general multiplayer matchmaking you'll see that you be able to join someones session you have to have the same mods installed. So at worst you're gonna be a god mode player invading a godmode player.
we also don't have to worry about security since the person that made the mod is also the person that made blue sentinel for DS2 and DS3 which was even more secure than playing the games vanilla. Even the RCE exploit scandal was fixed in a week using the mod.
@ghoulofthebeat4946 maybe but even then you're offline it's not other mods that matter it's cheat engine and other so on. Not that it's hard to block cheat engine it'd mean the mod author would need to basically use something like eac which is free or find a way to limit cheat engine..

@@Xivinux But if they *also* have CE running wont that ultimately just result in both of you wasting each others time? So nobody really wins anyway lol
From my experience this far, most of the time I spawn on the opposite side of the map with no option of teleporting any closer to the target and before I get the chance to even get close hosts just close their world. I feel like most of the people who have invasions turned on don't know these can be turned off and they just close their worlds as soon as they see an invader joining. Also I feel that as soon as people realize these can be turned off we're gonna have the same situation with the mod as we had before invasions were even implemented.
@@Joadv-Z Well in base game an invader always spawns with a special item. The item has 3 uses per invasion and using it will move the invader to a different point of the map close to the host.
@@Joadv-Z Oh I just recently learned about what that is. Apparently there is a cheat engine table made specifically for seamless co op invasions. That table automatically teleports the invader to the location of the players at the start of the invasion. The problem is it is a cheat engine table and I have no idea where you can get it.
So how does this work exactly. Does this mean I have to create a new save/new character? Also does it save for only one person, or does everyone get the same game file save?
Wow i would never imagine that people use the seamless coop mod so much the invasions are a no go on pc. I dont really invade myself, and i play solo so i barely get any invaders anyway.
I want to know how they fixed the AWFUL lag in regular games. It's literally night and day difference and I cannot believe From dropped the ball so hard
Do i understand it right? Can i make the questline from the masked men to go into the dlc while i juse seamless? Or it still dobt working to enter the dlc from the beginning until u use seamless?
I have no clue why anyone is acting like this is anything. If you can just turn this off, then the only people you'll ever invade are gankers, cheaters, and edgy grace duelists. Complaining about or celebrating this is so meaningless.
@@meboi649 well it's not exactly just for people avoiding invasions. Most people play seemless are people that wanna co op the whole game and not have to do things twice with their friends and don't have to resummon everytime they find a new dungeon. I for one use this to play with friends but love PvP invasion. I use the taunters tung when I'm playing the base game solo just to get invasions
@@allanbockaj2646 That's fair, and I'm in the same boat of frequently using seamless with friends even though I like invasions. However, if you look at all of the people complaining in this comment section alone, not even considering those complaining on the nexus page or reddit, I think it's fairly clear that the average user will just turn off invasions without a second thought. I doubt that those who remain will offset the gankers that will undoubtedly crop up in the coming days.
@@meboi649 SeamlessCoop only eases cheating compared to the base game, it's not like it's impossible otherwise. And you vastly overestimate how many people are willing to cheat in the first place. Also, the option is on by default, so it's up to the people who wanna play without it to deactivate them, not the other way around. Do you really think the mod got popular by advertising itself as a means to avoid invasions?
@@BlaZay I don't assert that seamless coop is only popular because it lacks invasions. The mod is popular because it adds real multiplayer to the game. However, considering how much of the Elden Ring playerbase dislikes invasions, the mod not having invasions is an additional upside for many people. You only need to look at the comments on this video, the years of invasion complaints across social media, and the birth of dedicated, around the clock gankers to understand how unpopular invasions are. For those who dislike invasions, the choice to disable invasions in this mod is quite simple and made possible by the mod itself. After the average seamless user disables their invasions, what remains? Quite simply, all that remains are gankers. I'm not saying that people use seamless to avoid invasions, but I am saying that invasions are not popular among the playerbase as a whole. When presented with the choice to have invasions or not have invasions, I believe that most players will simply choose to not have invasions.
I mean, my friend and I will be playing through with the mod soon and 100% have invasions enabled. Invasions are a fun part of the game, and I was pretty sad we wouldn't get any invasions until i found out the update added them. he on the other hand was like "well shit..." lmao

did something change since this video? ive seen a couple player names while in co-op but only being notified of their leaving, never actually seeing anyone. The item didnt take me anywhere either
Considering the person who made this is the same one who programmed the Blue Sentinel mod for DS3, it's likely safe from RCE attacks. Great addition, but everyone will sadly turn it off. Would be cooler too if the world cap was raised to 2 invaders and 4 cooperators

I love invasions. I hate having to get my friends all summoned back into my world after I beef it. This solves all my problems!
The issue is that most people who play seamless usually do it to avoid invasions. I'm sure it won't take long before 90% of seamless players turn off their invasion settings.
Exactly, either the creator makes that option disappear or Fromsoft starts actually enforcing their rules.
This is why I don't agree with people who say that Fromsoftware should have just added seamless co-op to Elden ring in a patch.
There needs to be some drawbacks to it and invasions are one part of that but you shouldn't be able to just disable it by just changing some settings in a menu.
nah people play seamless for a better coop experience and it even enables 6 man in open world which is something base game fails to do u can ride on torrent share progression and items and rest together without being sent to the world nobody plays it to avoid invasions yeah they are a drawback of the coop but being sent to ur world and no torrent and sent after every boss is much more of a pain in the ass than invaders
honestly i play seamless coop with friends, just because is a better multiplayer experience, but i missed the invasions, and i'm so happy to be able to invade/being invaded in this new version
I mean that's not an issue. 100% of people who play seamless coop do it to play the game seamlessly together... I don't think it has anything to do with invasions.
and then they went and changed the ini file immediately lol
They should just add seemless coop into the base game. That would be great
Would have to make invasions mandatory on it.
@@GankstomperThey added the co op from any location thing from the mod in ds3, as big as Elden ring is, it would be nice to have

I didn't even realize this was Oroboro the Ninja until you pointed it out. Time goes by fast.
@@bobaorc7839What a sad world that would be! DS2 was great. DS3 though... Ew.
My God the net code looks better than From's...
it uses steam p2p without eac so if you are in eu and invade usa latency will be same.
Is steam p2p better than PSN p2p?
The game keeps crashing every time I interact with an NPC Host invasion
I am softlocked out of the round table hold because of the ensha event....
Whenever I try to use the pin, it says Failed to connect: no sessions found.
Well lucky for them, they still can turn off the invasions. I would love to have this mode as add-on for consoles too.
This is a game-changer. Invasions are practically instantaneous now.
Invaded, lost, went back to my world, a major boss fell through the map and it gave me its great rune. It seems unstable :(
I notice that invaders are able to use some type of item to teleport to the host of fingers!
Damn ppl here really be crying about a feature that can be turned off
Think the issue is that but also there's no eac etc and as such chances are you're going to run into other mods and cheats that way.

Someone invaded me, but he can teleport to nearest player, how to do that?

@@meboi649 well it's not exactly just for people avoiding invasions.

Ive seen people worried about potential cheaters using this. Maybe to avoid cheaters the mod could require players to log in using their NexusMods account so each user has a unique ID then hosts/communities could simply add said ID to a block list or something idk. @@biterness2323 Sorry good fellow, I desire to inform you of your bogus take, as the default state of the invasion for the new update is on by default, and a large reason many who play the original content do not suffer the void matchmaking which the previous iteration disallowed. In so, I would champion my stance that while it is optional, it is on by default, and the only way it would be "dead" as you so eloquently put, would be that every single user would have to intentionally disallow the invasion modifier manually, which I contend is still as previously mentioned, a braindead take, and one of the deserving L, Bozo.
@@Zeonymous Yeah most players are going to change to opt out immediately. Or only opt-in when specifically Ganking.
Let's talk about this again two months down the road and see how invasions are doing around then. I hope I'm entirely wrong good sir, but I'm betting I won't be.
@@humblehomunculus2722 Tbh I always loved getting invaded and would often just duel people or stand back and let my summon duel them. The main hassle though was that, if we lost, summoning your partner back is a real hassle. In Seamless Coop that's no longer an issue, it's just like you encountered a strong enemy. I'll 100% keep invasions turned on all the time, invasions are the number 1 thing keeping gameplay fresh after hundreds of hours.
"thank you so much for this" after creating a mod that killed PC invasions
omg maybe get the fucking mod then and use it like every other smart person you fuck :D
keep crying invader
Im confused on what this is. Can you ise it for ps5?
Are there not enough players ?
I tried it but it does not work
Seamless coop should just exist but open you to giga invasions
anybody else not getting any of the items when they install seamless?
it says to rest at a grace in the readme
@@Eddie2P yeah we ended up figuring that out pretty quick lol
so im not getting my summoning items how can i fix that problem
like all the seamless stuff
Rest at a site of grace that’s how I got them.
How do i open my game to get invaded now as a host?
did you figure it out?
@@dazerrazer3018 I haven't played in a bit I was hosting with a friend but never got invaded once
@@TalZadios maybe the playercount is that low?
@@dazerrazer3018 it's possible I'm not sure how the level range and all that works exactly within the mod. I was LVL 50 with somber 4 & Smithing 11 on one of my low level PvP builds invasions were instant but I couldn't get a single person to invade my world
@@TalZadios sad thing that there is rarely any information online of how any of this works as the comments on the nexus page are disabled, maybe on the discord or something.
but cool to know that you could invade pretty fast, i just want to get invaded more.
holy shit
guys when i try to invade it says no session found can anyone has a solution for that
Can you not set a password so you can play with random players ?
I got a virus when I first downloaded it so my pc automatically deletes it. Is it safe because I wanna play it with my friends already...
its because its a dll file its like downloading a random exe file antivirus dont like it
just ignore the anti virus prompt, that's normal you'll be fine.
