Curious to hear... what would you be most interested in experiencing? A train depot? Train show? Train travel? Folks' personal at home layouts? Abandoned rail yards?? Other ideas? I'm all ears : )
Been here to Spencer a lot, not far from home in Clover SC. Glad to see a woman actually interested in this, my wife not so much. Just installed a full size train crossing signal on our driveway to go with my 7.5 ride on train around the house!! She loves it 🙄 Ha
So glad you felt that way! It was the best layout at the show, and not just saying that with bias. Loved the hoe down and drive in movie theater best, I think.. but also the carnival stuff…
Loving this already! It's amazing your daad actually sells Polar Express train sets! Plus this area reminds me of Disneyland because of not only the full size train but also that fire truck. What a dream come true!
Sounds like you've been to Disneyland? I was just there on Thursday : ) th-cam.com/video/22wYUYUKBRY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BvXKlout7t1y8rnv And yes, lots of Polar Express products in my dad's shop!
@7:16. For the record, the Southern Steam program lasted from 1966 until 1994. They revised it under Norfolk Southern for a short period from 2011 until 2015.
I have been to many large train shows in NJ and PA but have not been to the Spencer show so I enjoyed your video. Nice job filming and using appropriate music to enhance the over quality!
Very cool. I’m glad you got to experience Spencer, too, then ☺️👍 And thank you! I put a lot of time and thought into the soundtracks of my episodes. I license the music through epidemicsound.com
If you think it's hot there, you should be here in south Texas - DANG!!! It's averaging around 101-105 degrees now each day. I'm from east Tennessee originally and that's why I like your videos, they take me home once in a while. Like your father, I am also a train collector and enthusiast. My father also had a hobby shop back in the 1990's in Johnson City, TN.
Oh my gosh! That’s so neat that your dad had a train shop, too!!! ☺️ And man, that is hot. It gets that hot in CA, too, but not where I live on the coast, thank goodness - and the air is dry. So nice to connect! And more to come ☺️🎬🚂💃🏽
I was actually at the NCTM for this event on this day! There was also a 100 year celebration for the Bob-Julian roundhouse happening that same day (depending on if you came Saturday or Sunday). Also not to be nitpicky or a nerd but the 611 is not at the NCTM currently it resides at the Virginia Transportation Museum. It came to the museum for restoration and has only come back on occasion. Nice video and I encourage anyone who is near to visit the NCTM.
@@gusshadleythelunaticfromar7125 Oh, wow! I don’t think we’ve ever met, but love that you’ve been in there over the decades. You’ll probably appreciate my several episodes that were filmed there then ☺️ Say “hi” to my dad for me when you see him.
The next time you are in that area about 2 hours west in North Carolina near the Tennessee border is the Great Smoky Mountain railroad. Highly recommended. They have excursion rides including one that runs by the original Fugitive movie locomotives. Also there's a huge O gauge layout there. I did videos on both.
I should absolutely do that! My friend Jean, who was in my most recent TH-cam episode, was talking to me about the Orient express the other day, and we looked up the website with the beautiful work. They’ve done to create that experience. It’s on my list. I love Europe. Where do you live in the UK? I’ve only been to London. So much more to see!
@LisaKEntertainment Indeed, the Orient Express is a real bucket list experience! 👌 not cheap, but would be well worth the expense I'm sure! I'm in the centre of England, on the edge of Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood and all that, some real ancient history on the doorstep 😊 You need to do the city of York, amazing medieval and Roman history there, plus the national Railway museum 👌 Your Dad would love it! ☺️
@@petergundel5923 I would be happy riding the good old “normal” trains around Europe, but the Orient Express could be a special experience at some point 🌟🚂 What part of the UK do you live in?

another great video, loved it, I have a outhouse with the man reading the paper and snoring.
That’s hilarious.
Funny outhouse scene. Great and fun footage of the train show, Lisa. Thanks for sharing. 🚂😎👍🏼

I bet your house is the neighborhood favorite of all of the kids ☺️👍👍
I go to Spencer Shops every spring for the train show because I use to volunteer there.
Very neat! I'm in the process of sorting out a date for the Polar Express at the moment : )
Impressive model railway layout, did enjoy the video, there was moments that it felt like I was there in person.

20th Anniversary of the Polar Express and I think there’s a new movie coming out. Great tour and video!

Please tell me about the lift bridge near the end of this video. Is it custom or commercially available?
I will look into that.. @thetrainloft Dad, do you know? Seems he is referring to the Yadkin and Catawba layout at the Train show.
