The Maker is one of my favourite characters. We know Reed Richards as one of the greatest heroes in all of Marvel. But there he became one of the most diabolical villain ever. He is like Tommy Oliver and his evil version Lord Drakkon
He casually mentions that the Molecule Man outsmarted everyone by dividing his consciousness throughout the multiverse. Now he's literally everywhere. One thing that made Owen Reece dangerous wasn't his vast power; it's that his opponents kept underestimating his resourcefulness in surviving.
My favourite character from the Ultimate Universe! And Ultimate Fantastic Four was how I got into comics! can't wait for its return in Ultimate Invasion!
I love that they made Ultimate Reed a villain, given that regular 616 Reed is a huge dick it was a good direction to take this version. What I don’t like is how they went about it, he goes evil because the girl he had a crush in rejected him. He’s the ultimate incel.
This is my favorite version of reed Richards, Ultimate comics doomsday was epic to read. It was surprisingly great arc, highly recommended to read for fans of one shot
Man, I need to read Ultimate Fantastic Four because I love the Maker in the Ultimate Universe. He appeared in Secret Wars 2015. I can't wait for Ultimate Invasion.
Sadly the ultimate marvel universe got destroyed thanks to ultimatum which killed everyone for no real reason just for a bloodbath and the universe never recovered in my opinion.
@@BlackHart730 I can understand being worried with the universe coming back however given it’s Hickman bringing the universe back I can see this return turning out good but we shall see.
@@BlackHart730 i have read his work on X-Men and i thought it was good but after he left the entire thing went to hell but I don't blame him for that but i blame marvel comics for that one because they wouldn't let him finish his story at least in my opinion.
Not gonna lie, this character would actually scare me! The idea that someone with that level of intelligence going rogue is terrifying! I get Lex Luthor: yeah, that is part of his makeup. Maybe I am stupid, but I believe Reed is smarter than Luthor. Not by much, but enough. The Maker is more horrifying for me. Everyone flips out over Thanos, Eclipso, Abraxas, the Anti-Monitor, and Darkseid, and I am like, “Y’all, a rogue Reed Richards is way more scary!” Lex, Reed, and Doom could be more terrifying than most villains because of their intellect.
Who has to fight for their powers? Mutants are born with them. - Daredevil, Hulk, FF, Spider-Man, Doc Ock, Lizard, Green Goblin, Wonderman, etc etc all got theirs by accident, Thor was born to it, Eternal are born with it, Inhumans have to breath mist. 2 out of 3 Ghostriders literally stumbled upon it. Luke Cage, Steve Roger's and many more were experiments. The only people I can readily think of who had to pass a Rubicon for powers are like Iron Fist, Dr.Strange, Apocalypse, I guess Doom? Everyone else either inherited it or got it in a lab accident
As I get older I’m less interested in heroes and find villains way more psychologically interesting, and the maker is the perfect example of reinventing an old character and completely turning it on its head
I have been waiting for the longest time for a video on this version of Reed Richards earth 1610 aka the ultimate universe is my second favorite Marvel Universe after the mainstream 616 universe.
I was just commenting a few hour ago on this subject about the many causes of a hero to turn villain from adisagreement to possible early childhood traumatic experiences, abuse, indoctrination and brainwashing, then of corse a end to a marriage or a breakup of a ship! Some of Marvel's finest take it well! They are hurt emotionally, but they endure, overcome and in many instances stumble onto a new romantic ship, stumble onto sudden wealth, become more famous and even save the day and get honored as the MVP of the heroes after a last ditch clutch performance using their powers and saving all of the omniverse in one clutch move! However some of Marvel's finest don't fare too well dealing with a breakup or divorce and mentally and psychologically they hit a triggering point when lines are blurred and that person loses al rationality and turn opposite to what they were once before! In Reed's case his marriage ending on many possibilities, 1. A disagreement that when beyond verbal and became a risky universe or multiverse threatening gambit that your friends, family and teammates disagree with, or in the case of Sue Storm not getting enough attention from Reed emotionally or you know where it goes, I'm not giving TH-cam a reason to strike me, but in that case if Reed is not, umm giving Sue enough umm attention and you know, like Rogue would say, a girl has needs too, Sue and Reed part ways, then realizing and seeing anoter partner, umm give Sue that activity she long's for, Reed loses it then like Charels Xavier, releases his( inner Onslaught) then takes it out on creation! All of a sudden TOAA is at fault because your spouse or significant lover is looking for that sexual and intimate fufullment, and you failed at it, so another romance partner pull's right up and gives that fufillment to your partner! That hurts and in Reed's case that triggered his inner monster! Peter Parker suffered asimular fate, but because he fell through a dimensional rift after aunt May's close call with death,Mephisto putting his two cents in it then a villain creating a dimensional wormhole in which time moves fast on one end, moves slow on the other! When Peter returned to rescue MJ I believe was trapped in that wormhole, time went by quickly MJ found who know who, out of respect for my fellow Spidey fans, I wont say his name, but he and MJ started aship, married got busy and produced offspring! Peter even though hurt seems to have handled it well and is happy for MJ! Peter is better than a lot of us,I don't know if I could've handled it like Peter! But the poit is sometimes a heartbreak can create a new villain! This actually happen's in real life, see Jodi Arias trial, many breakups lead some people to commit murder! Marvel makes it a fictional thing that turn's into a series, that soon become's a graphic novel, that become's one of Marvel's masterpeace hardcover omnibuses that draws in big money, one thing about Marvel, they make great omnibus series based on real life events that are in afictional Sci-Fi setting in other words instead of a heartbroken partner stabbing ,then shooting a partner who leaves, let's kill the universe instead! Marvel's way of saying if I can't have you nobody will!
I love it when characters break this trope, like Revan from Star Wars. Though I suppose you could say he did perish a hero, and was born anew as a villain. Then he became neither, such a good character.
After he caused the death of Earth-6160 Wolverine I would do to The Maker what Scarlet Witch did to Mr Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
-5.30 there's a mention of I.S. My question is, dose this comic provide a definition of soul stone in any way different from the classic 'It can control souls'? Cus if not, it Another Slap In the Face.
