I disagree. A hurricane (as far as we know) can't make a conscious decision to destroy a state or city. But Galactus can 'choose' which planet he destroys.

Galactus is way to powerful for just the Fantastic 4 and they should change it so he is faced by many more characters. If his world comes even close the X-Men should lead a raid of the earth eating machine he creates while many groups and individuals take him on, with more joining as he grows to hugeer sizes and they can get to him, and his solar system sized planet can be raided by space characters.
I have a feeling that the MCU version of Galactus is going to way simpler. He'll probably be a "broken" Celestial. Maybe Norin Radd is an Eternal that is cosmically charged into the Surfer. Edit: You brought it up at the end. :)

Never been a fan, just the whole "giant guy floating in space" thing kept me away. And I know it's not a popular film (cough still better than the reboot cough), but I thought the film death cloud version worked for something that "other". That's something that I can't think of an example of being done right visually. A character that is that powerful/alien/ancient/etc that is not boiled down to a guy in a suit or a body horror monster. Gravemind, looking at you... I guess it's just something that would be really hard to portray. Plus, well, it's a damn story. But I can't help it.
Most of the times he is in his ship and while huge is not bigger than planets more like three hundred feet tall but he is able to change his size. I think making him like this but not show him change his size will work it will make him seem big and something to worry about but not just a giant man in space either.
