We are seeing a lot of that but batteries don't last forever either. Of course in your situation where you have a lot of batteries it wouldn't be as much of a problem.
On the spark plug, yes. On top of the piston and in the muffler, no. A hot plug dissipates heat slower than a cool plug so it stays hotter and self cleans better. A given air/fuel mix burns at the same temperature no matter what plug is igniting it.
