      If your income exceeds the threshold, you may still be eligible for Child Benefit, but you may be subject to a High Income Child Benefit Charge. This is a tax that you'll need to pay.
      The income threshold for Child Benefit changes annually. You can find the current threshold on the government's website: www.gov.uk/child-benefit

      Since you didn't mentioned your visa status i.e ILR or Non ILR, is it spouse or dependent visa, so let me explain this to you : The benefits you can apply for as a non-British partner of a British person on benefits depend on your immigration status and other factors.
      If you have settled status or indefinite leave to remain in the UK:
      You can generally claim most benefits, including Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and Pension Credit. However, your partner's income and savings will be taken into account when assessing your entitlement.
      If you have pre-settled status:
      You can claim Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance, and Carer's Allowance. You may be able to claim other benefits, but this will depend on your individual circumstances.
      If you have no recourse to public funds:
      You will not be able to claim most benefits. However, there are some exceptions, such as Child Benefit and certain non-means-tested benefits.

      Since you didn't mentioned the country you from so I can't answer Yes or No but am sharing the rule so you know if you can or not :
      You usually cannot claim Child Benefit if you’re ‘subject to immigration control’ - meaning you either:
      require leave to enter or remain in the UK and do not have it
      have leave to enter or remain in the UK but with a condition that you cannot access public funds
      The exceptions are if you are from:
      Albania, Morocco, Tunisia or Turkey and working in the UK
      a country that has an agreement with the UK for Child Benefit
      Countries that have an agreement with the UK are:
      Barbados
      Bosnia and Herzegovina
      Canada
      the Channel Islands
      Israel
      Kosovo
      Mauritius
      Montenegro
      New Zealand
      North Macedonia
      Serbia

    Meine disability child ka apply kua tha 9 nov 2023 ko or iska answer 27 april 2024 ko aya tha and received payment middle rate and same day i was applying carer allowance on same day 27 april and i received the successful letter today but mujhe 3 month backdated money nhin mili carer allowance mein ...can u explain, kya par mistake ho gyi mujhse .

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Carer's Allowance can typically be backdated for a maximum of 3 months from the date you apply. Since you applied on April 27, 2024, any eligible payments would go back to January 27, 2024, at most. Contact the Carer's Allowance Service and explain that your child receives a qualifying disability benefit from before January 27, 2024, and you believe you should be eligible for backdated Carer's Allowance for that period.

    Can a uk national living abroad apply for child benefit

    • @UKknowledgeGuru
      @UKknowledgeGuru  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally, a UK national living abroad wouldn't be eligible for Child Benefit unless they fall under specific exceptions. Exceptions for Eligibility:
      Crown Servants: UK government civil servants or armed forces personnel working abroad can claim Child Benefit regardless of their child's location (previously living in the UK is a requirement).
      Temporary Absence: If you're abroad temporarily (less than a year) and ordinarily reside in the UK, you might be eligible for Child Benefit while your child stays in the UK.
      Specific Agreements: The UK has agreements with some countries that might allow you to claim Child Benefit or a similar benefit in that country (www.gov.uk/child-benefit-abroad).
