Menace II Sobriety Live brings the up & coming podcast to the live stage; hosted by Daniel O'Reilly and a special guest, no topic is off-limits. Combining humour with stories and issues which both Daniel and the audience will have experienced, whether first hand or through someone they know. Offering an environment for people to openly discuss their struggles was Daniel's main focus behind starting the podcast, as well as his M.A.T.E group; so now he also brings it to the stage and to the public.
What can people expect at the live podcast:
Join Daniel at Menace II Sobriety Live, as he discusses all things sobriety, ADHD, mental health and more. The podcastwill be recorded live with a special guest, including audience interaction and finishing with an open Q&A.
Daniel will not only be discussing sobriety, but everything life throws at us, and he would love for you to join him. Bring your tissues and your sense of humour, because we have no idea what topics will be discussed, but whatever the conversation, it'll be a supportive environment and may contain some dad jokes.
Story behind the podcast:
The Menace II Sobriety podcast was set up after Daniel faced his own battles with sobriety, ADHD, mental health and certain life scenarios. He set up a M.A.T.E group on Facebook, so that men could support men in an accessible, open and friendly environment. Upon seeing the responses from men around the world to some of the posts on the group, Daniel was blown away by the kindness and support of strangers. This led him to create the podcast, inviting a range of guests from different backgrounds, sharing his own personal experiences & struggles; and now, opening up to the public in a live environment, where people can come along and watch in-person, or get involved in the audience interaction.

Please don’t jack it in guys. I and thousands of others really benefit from these podcasts. I’m 216 days sober today and my life is better in every way. Let the haters go. Read their messages, and then let it go. So powerful. Dan and Kirk thank you!! 🙏❤️
Nicely done Greg. Keep up the good work. 🙏🏼
Your 💯 right mate 🙏🙏
Well said Greg 🙏 it’s a blessing this channel !
I’m 10 weeks sober today, from drinking 2 litres of vodka a day i suffered a seizure and ended up in hospital. Now i am walking 12 miles a day and have fully recovered. Listening to these podcasts on my walks have really helped me! Cheers guys! P.s the elvis statue story had me in stitches 😂
mate lol was so funny, wow that is some going that! Well done mate
That’s amazing how did u do it I had seizures in hospitals horrible
I think the reason alot of people are scared to give up alcohol is they feel there will be no fun in there life anymore
We are having so much more fun now
All the fun with out beating your self up for 3 days after it. Your podcasts are excellent really enjoy them and good to see others doing well
@@user-qe7fb6gd6cI don't know if you have, but both Dan and kirk have discussed exactly that. And about preparing and changing your lifestyle when sober. Only time iv never heard it glorified like it's easy to be sober socially! 🫶❣️
Thank you appreciate that
So pleased I’ve found this ❤
If the trolls have a problem with you or feel that they need to be horrible and nasty to you then they're actually the problem and not you guys. You're helping and inspiring so many people out here guys. I'm 71 days sober and clean today and watching these videos are truly good for the soul 🙏
I’m here on day 1 ❤🎉
I’m on holiday with my family in Turkey, yesterday was my 39th birthday and I am going sober so on my 40th I can be a year clean, I’ve struggled with gear and booze for about 16 years and have a 5 year old son, since he was born I’ve been trying to bang it on the head but just keep failing. This podcast has really helped me get in the right head space to do it and I am going to this time, thanks to both of you and keep doing your thing.❤
You must look so wrinkled and old.
Well done for seeing it for what it is luke, put the work in mate and you’ll get there & when you do everyone will be proud especially you mate
Good luck Luke , always remember how you would feel the next morning and coming days when you are tempted!
You can do it pal
If you’ve been drinking alcohol that long it’s unlikely that you are going to be successful in getting permanently sober.
I've been sober for 400 days and have been watching for ~3 months. Really appreciate the work you guys are doing on this. I use this as a weekly check-in on my sobriety and feel part of the community here. Please focus on the positive comments as it is really helping many people.
Wow, well this comment alone, the community part especially has filled me with joy.. Thank you
none at a😂h🎉f event tigk😅loowkqJ this z2😮😮
Today is the first day I've decided to go sober. Really appreciate listening to both of your experiences. Thanks for sharing!
Been sober 462 days as of this morning, been out with my wife and daughter celebrating our wedding anniversary, popped in to my head that I wanted a Guinness and told my wife and she gently reminded me that I can’t control it when I have a drink, always leads to vodka,my point is even when I feel great and life is good my addiction is waiting in the wings to jump me and do me in,came home and did a workout instead. Sobriety is the greatest gift I’ve ever given to myself. Fantastic podcast too!
Kirk … I am crying with laughter about your elvis story… and god rest your dads soul… I just love the way you bring humour🎉 into your story…. So relatable.. Your 74 year old number 1 fan.. I was suicidal today…. But your podcast from you guys …. Changed my thinking
……..
😢
Bless you mate nice to hear your honesty . I hope your doing better today .
@maggiedennis♥️🙏🫶🏻
Relapsed after 3 years off cocaine . Now watching these vids . Thanks
@mrronnie♥️🙏
@mrronnie. You have those 3 yrs🙏always remember you can do another one baby step at a time🤗
Living sober take the good with the bad look after your mental well being sober 9 years wish everyone the very best on the path way in life ❤️
Im 8 months sober and i am at the point where i dont really miss drinking. The thought brings fear to me ie the hangovers and fk ups. Just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday and didnt touch a drop! I remebered the times i would be hanging out of my ass. Would spend so much time feeling sorry for myself, distracted by the awful anxiety and would missing booked excursions. I actually enjoyed this holiday and remembered every moment 😂
Being sober is my life now, it is me and there is no going back.. ever!
37 days sober today after 16 years of substituting one drug for another and eventually ending up in dark places. I’m grateful for the fellowship I’m part of, it’s given me my life back. I was powerless. Completely powerless. When my sponsor told me I was spiritually and mentally sick, it all made sense. Lightbulb moment. I do everything he says and don’t miss a day of directions I’ve been given. I want everyone to find a way out of this unforgiving addiction. It’s a disease of the mind that wants you alone and broken, mentally and spiritually. It wants you dead and it won’t stop until it’s treated. There is a way out and we can all recover I promise you.
I am 4 days without a drink which almost sounds pathetic to even say but I was drinking every night and have done for many years. Two years off the gear this month but drinking has always been a struggle for me to stop, drink multiple bottles of Martel a week. Determined to not drink again. I am really fed up with how it is having a negative impact on my mental health and family life, and even my business. One day at a time I guess.
@Darren whatever it takes One moment, one second. Baby steps♥️🙏
Mad props for doing this podcast mate. You are so relatable for a lot of geezers who struggle with binge drinking on a weekend. It’s definitely and epidemic in the UK.
Also to the people who are slating you, it’s because your holding up a mirror of accountability to them and they don’t like that others are bettering themselves.
Keep it up mate, I find these podcasts so helpful. You are doing great things.
Please never give up this channel over some cmments, your helping so many people here, probably more than you know. It's helping me on my sobriety journey and what I like about it I'd that there's all different levels of addiction shown here. Alcohol has almost ruined my life and many relationships and I've never been an all week drinker. I think its important to have channels like this to show all different kinds of addiction levels. It doesn't have to be a Daily habit to cause havoc or ruin your life. Thank you for validating this point amd keep going. 👏
Thank you Alice! Love that, needed to hear that.
I told my sponsor that my ULTIMATE FEAR was becoming boring. It will be a year 8/19 for my sober bday, but I still feel insanely “boring” at times/ predictable and content - it’s amazing but I’m also real that the different “fun days” are gone. It will take time to make peace with it but it’s a beautiful new life 🙌🏻#maturity
Don’t you dare jack this in Dan …..
You have saved my life .
Kirk is so articulate, so glad he’s on here permanently! I’ve not gone sober but I no longer binge. I’ve looked into the reason why I drink and now I just have 1 with food or socially. No longer drink at home. Thank you to this podcast it has really changed my outlook! Deffo not an addict or anything but it’s still helped me so much to change my behaviour.
Don’t ever Jack this in Dan. For every negative comment you will be helping more people. Keep up the great work
Dan, pleas keep podcast going it’s the best one I’ve come across I really enjoy it. It helps so much when I get triggered I think of you guys on the same journey.
I came across your podcast randomly and put it on while driving home from work. I was also someone who didn’t have to go to jail, or end up homeless to see my rock bottom. I was what they call a “functioning alcoholic”.. I had everything so to speak. But I was losing my mind. I felt alone, miserable, disconnected, and like I wasn’t deserving of a good life. I have been sober 3 years and my life has changed dramatically. I still find myself trying to justify picking up a drink every once in a while. But when I sacrificed alcohol and drugs to my god he rewarded me with peace and love. I’m not willing to ever lose that again. Thanks you for being here with us.
Best episode yet gents, that elvis story was fucking brilliant 🤣
Mad wasn’t it
Love you both , I quit the drink 2 years ago and recently I had the thoughts about getting back on it but your podcasts really help put everything into perspective ❤
I'm two years in 20 days and have a family reunion wedding in Sri Lanka. All the UK family are flying there and I haven't seen anyone for two days years. Should I drink at the four day wedding?
Well done guys, so what you feel is right but think about the bad times on drink not just the good
keep the pod going trust me its helping a lot of people thank you
Please don’t stop, you & Kirk are doing an amazing job & are really starting to make me think about things in a way I never have before
Keep up the good work Dan this is a brilliant podcast, how anyone can say anything negative about its pathetic, this has helped so many people already and will only grow to help many more, nothing but respect fella 👊🏽
So relatable! Great pod chaps, great channel Dan hope you keep it up !
I only got clean because I resonated with Dan, because I wasn’t doing it all the time I thought I couldn’t be an addict, that I was just stupid thinking I couldn’t control it, why was I worrying it was only intermittently. I spent years like this, you opened my eyes and I started to sort my life out ❤ thank you
Wow this is amazing thank you
Thank you lads I’m almost 6 months sober these podcasts are very relatable for me I’m a 30 year old bricklayer working in Australia drink and drugs are part of the culture on site and it’s nice to know I’m not doing it alone. Please stick at it. God bless
Quality podcast this mate, unreal banter and very relateable. Keep up the good work pal.
Using your podcasts as a weekly checkin on my sobriety. Keep it coming and ignore the haters!
This really helps me on a Friday evening I’m 6months sober from coke n alcohol and this podcast has really helped me thank you guys I haven’t yet been to a meeting but I’m thinking of going now
Defo try it maté especially if things get tricky
what a good idea!!!!!
Lads chin up, you both are a true inspiration. Comments and options will be felt. You more than most know the struggles ...you guys more than most are aware of the answers. Much love ❤
I’m delighted that you are now discussing the 12 steps. Will power alone is not enough to keep a true addict clean long term (I’m an addict of 18 years) Without a spiritual connection and without surrounding yourself around others in a similar situation, you will eventually fall. If you are reading this and are skeptical, please just visit a 12 step programme either online or in person. There are different groups for different addictions - AA alcohol anonymous - CC cocaine - SLA sex and love (includes porn) etc
Love that x
I adore you Kirk. The same thing happened to me. .. what a lovely human being you are -
I would have been 1 year clean and sober on 20th of this month however relapsed in feb 7 months in went to prison im now 47 days sober and loving life after the relapse very nearly killed me. Ive been following you for years dan. Love your stuff.
Kirk we love you mate you and Dan's combo is amazing!

Dan and Kirk, please never stop. You are saving lives ❤
Thanks again lads, your time on these podcasts is truly appreciated. John big thanks to you 👍 love how you were honest Dan about having a bad week, I’d like to mention when you do get those days and negative thoughts Dan I like to look through my photos on my phone of all the positive things Iv done, especially photos and video of me and my young son together out having fun and making memory’s, it fills me with so much joy 👍 something to try out for everyone listening , focus on the positive always
Thank you I’m going to make an album 🎉 thank you that was good x
Excellent podcast. Please keep it going Dan, you're doing an amazing job and helping so many people. Kirk is also a great addition to the show, massive respect to you both!
Thank you very much appreciate the positivity
Don't listen to haters. You are helping so many people, myself included. I appreciate the helpful tips and advice. I really upset my adult children this weekend, being selfish and staying up all night. Time to fix up. Thanks for the inspiration! Wish me luck!!!!!
Great podcast again lads! Really helps me though the week.
Keep up the great work lads. 13 days clean. Will the podcast be coming to Scotland?

Great work guys. Just started listening to you. You soeak facts we all need to hear. You are helping so many people. For every 1 negative comment there is 10k lads you're helping
Thank you for your hard work. Ive knocked gear on the head now which I turned too when my mum passed which spiralled me. I will eventually knock the booze on the head but I’m gradually easing out of it. Your convos as men has really inspired me as a woman. God bless to you both
This is the best podcast I've seen dapper. Kirk is a legend you 2 have got this spot on every topic you touch on is so relevant and gives us great strength. Thank you brothers 🙏
Thabk you mate

Dan Kirk you are both amazing. Well done Dan on setting this up and helping so many people ❤
This was my first time listening to you guys 😅 I love how honest and real you both are. I could relate to many of the topics you shared. Congratulations on your sober journey ❤
Been sober for a year, it had to happen
You guys are amazing
This podcast helps me focus on keeping clean
Keep at it guys
This podcast is really helping everyone. I really cant understand why there are some individuals out there who shall i say been over critical or down right spiteful concerning this channel. Whist i appreciate some people are struggling at the moment that might expalin there behaviour but it does not excuse it. Take note.
Because they’re in turmoil and pain.
Some people especially addicted people are jealous of others sobriety because it’s deep down what they want for themselves.
There’s never any excuse for it.
Sad people will always have something to say about others, whilst unable to look in the mirror themselves.
@@HGee420 Yes i can appreciate what u said.
Thabk you both - I can handle it most time and it comes with it I guess
Loving the uploads! KEEP THEM COMING!!🕺👍🏻
Thanks! Will do!
Great video lads. I have had my ups and downs but luckily am still here. Dont get me wrong i am still struggling with my mental health and like my beer abit to much. Looking forward to the next one. Keep it up boys
420 days sober!!!! Living my life free of bondage and addiction has allowed me to sleep easy and my mood is alot more consistent. Life is good. Nice video! We need more videos on sobriety! Thanks 🙏
These podcasts have helped so much, could never understand why when the weekend come id be straight on the sesh, but i do now. Still need to fully accept its a problem but Im so close to knocking this shit on the head.
Keep up the podcast guys really enjoyable thanks
I was debating to phone Samaritan But decided to go on your weekly podcast … thank you
Incredible as ever guys! Thank you again 😊
thank you!
Without it, my low self esteem kicks in and all the social anxiety, before doing it i have a brief moment of thinking its wrong but i want to feel normal, get on the gear and beer, spend 400 and feel like shit in the morning thinking about the degenerate decisions i made.
Brilliant episode guys keep up the great work 🔥
Thank you
Love listening to the podcast your helping many people in more ways than you know.
Thank you Ross!
Please never quit this podcast ❤️
Fantastic podcast this
This episode answered so many questions for me wich I thought we’re so specific for me , so grateful this exists
Keep killing it Dapper and team 💪🏻🔥
2 great lads who’s experiences are helping me loads with my own demons , thank you
Thanks for addressing a good point. I’m not an addict as in every day. But whenever I go out for a drink I end up getting on the bag and ruining 3 days. Just because people don’t do it daily, doesn’t mean they don’t have a problem :) god bless
My respect for Dan has increased 10 fold what a humble bloke cheers fella
Big up to both of yous. People watching your podcast are so lucky having you doing this off your own back to help others. Dont listen to haters Dan, i used to binge a few weekends on the bounce to sometimes once a month to even having a couple of months between binges but this all depends on wat i have going on and also what i can get away with, having a family etc. I know i have an addiction and my journey to sobriety has started. I was watching from day dot still using and now im a few week in, ive been to meetings and i love watching your shows every week, keep them coming x
Love that mate thank you
Great pod dapper! Keep positive

Ignore the haters. Keyboard warriors have not bottle.
Great podcast guys

AA is a amazing fellowship u definitely need to attend meetings u can't do this alone, I will be 4 years sober a day at a time December 12th
Great work you're both doing.....more power to you
Thank you!
Hi guys, currently 30 and trying too start the journey today after years of alcohol and Coke abuse. Already this is hard but in order to liver a happy life I know this needs to be done. Been watching for a while whether it's clips or podcasts you are doing Gods work. Would be a brilliant idea to open a discord channel for other addicts to message open up to in times of struggle so there is a network of help. Thanks guys.
Amazing work
Stopped drinking 11 months ago. Never ever thought I could do it. Happiest I’ve been. Recovery is possible!
You are both hilarious 😂. You have both really helped me keep on the wagon . Big respect 🙏.
Our pleasure!
Keep up the good work!
Lads, literally cannot wait for your videos/podcasts! Hopefully will make it down from Edinburgh for the live shows but you need to promise me I can buy you a soft drink and get a chin wag!
Sounds great! Defo will try to meet people that come
HOW TO LIVE SOBER. Avoid pubs, clubs and parties like they are the plague, avoid alcoholics, losers, drunkards, and idiots like they have the plague, surround yourself with people who want the best for you (not so called 'drinking buddies'), adopt healthy lifestyle habits (ie good diet, exercise regeime etc), and keep busy. The devil makes work for idle hands.
It gets easier as time goes on, and before you know it, you completely forget about alcohol, and thats a very healthy place to be.
devil makes work for idol hands is the one !!
Top lads both of you.
Another class podcast well done lads 🙏
Thanks for listening
Thanks lads
Keep up the good work 👏🏼 your helping more people than you know

He has be painted badly most off the time, he's a good lad, mad as a box of frogs but great
@@menacetosobrietypodcast it was jealousy on my part bro because he's a good looking lad and seems to have money but has problems the same as me, so my bad brother ♥️
@@menacetosobrietypodcast and dapper the trolls are a sign your winning, just embrace it because trust me there your biggest fans but just angry fans lol
YOU GUYS ARE HELPING ME OUT TREMENDOUSLY. I HAVE BEEN USING COCAINE FOR 8 years and I Have been drinking alcohol for 12 years. I have made some really bad mistakes including cheating on my girlfriend in which I lost her and got kicked out the apartment. I am now sleeping on my sisters sofa and living out of a bag. Sober me would never have done the things I have done while coked up and drunk Which was 3-4 times a week. Watching you guys are keeping me strong…. My ex basically threw me a bone and told me to get clean which means I think I still have a chance… I’m doing this for myself of course but also because I want to go back home to her
Hi mate, yer you need to do it for yourself, work on getting you mind and body healthy, fill in thew gaps addiction leaves and get to work son good luck
Love your podcasts guys. I have very recently decided to go to AA. First one tonight after my alcohol nearly ruined my career in Thursday.
Let me know how you get on I bet you feel good after
I needed that laugh thank you 🙏
Cocethynole is a real thing - I was seriously addicted to this (combination of coke and alcohol together) - and regarding psychosis I had it quite a few times over the years - a couple pin pointed - one from coke and alcohol together where a police chopper was out near my area and I was walking home 2am after a night out and I got paranoid and thought the chopper was after me and I was running around all the streets really fast and trying to hide then eventually got home and could still hear it and was paranoid in my flat looking out of window and hiding under my desk.. I also remember when I was on MCAT and I had loads of wasps and bugs flying around my room even tho it wasn’t there … also on MCAT and Valium I had a polo bear in my room I was asleep dreaming with my eyes open … I’ve had loads of bizarre experiences on Ketamine - psychosis - I’m clean and sober now though :-)
