  • ( www.TFLcar.com ) This 2015 Cadillac Escalade and this Lexus LS460 don't compete except on one important level...they both cost about $90K. The question in this TFLcar review for Nathan and Roman is a simple one: if they had $90,000 USD burning a hole in their pocket which car would they buy? Watch the video to find out the answer.

    Calling the Escalade a Suburban with a better interior is the same as calling the Lexus a Toyota with a better interior. The Suburban and Escalade don't share suspension, motor, transmission, or interior. It is the same platform, but that's as close as they get.

    • @Fifthcell
      @Fifthcell 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Neither does the Lexus, they may share platforms but the suspension, engine and Interior are all upgraded

    if i had $100,000 to spend i would personally buy a Lexus es350 and a Mercedes ML350, because you get the luxury of the Lexus without feeling like your driving a limo, and you get the connivence of a SUV, without feeling like your driving a bus

      The Lexus ls chassis is built, and developed entirely in house by Lexus the Lexus' that have Toyota under would be the ES with the Avalon, LX with the land cruiser, and NX with the rav4

      Fluffy Hamster No. ES used to base on the Camry platform. Now it shares its platform with Avalon (Although both platforms are very similar). GS, is like the LS, a fresh Chassis build. The GS is a rear wheel drive car, whereas the Avalon is a front wheel drive vehicle.

    The escalade has always had loads of space and leather for the money. The big problem was always that they didn't like to keep working properly. I couldn't care less if they use new dials but I would like to know if the quality control is better.

      Strange. G.M. has for the most part always built mechanically sound trucks, it's what they specialize in. I have a friend with 246k miles on his with basic maintenance. I've seen others in my area, bodies beaten to smithereens, but still running strong. I'll take a G.M. Truck long before any other brand if we're talking about reliability.

    I am not paying $90K for a tarted up Suburban. I would buy a Jaguar XJ. I can buy a loaded up Infiniti QX for like $75K to $80K.

    • @ThePopfrazz
      @ThePopfrazz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think the Yukon/Yukon XL Denali can qualify as a tarted up Suburban. But these new Escalades are definitely more established Luxury SUVs than they used to be.. In my opinion.

    • @MrTblackmon

  • @MichaelAChang
    @MichaelAChang 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another option to get around the social stigma of an Escalade is to buy a Suburban, fully loaded, with enough left over to get a light-armored conversion. That would be neat.

    • @ThePopfrazz
      @ThePopfrazz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could do that.. But I feel like the Suburban would lose a bit of power due to the armor's weight. The Escalade gets a decent engine upgrade from the Suburban, the 6.2L engine, same one in the Yukon Denali. And GM has done a great job in their effort to greatly differentiate the interiors of their SUV lineup. You can definitely tell the difference between the interiors of the 2015 Suburban/Yukon and 2015 Escalade.

    Well actually guys it really depends on the buyer. Both cars are luxurious and crafted with fine materials and price the same, but if the buyer has big family and wants to seat all of them in comfort the escalade is the one but when you are a simple guy and just want plane luxury then the let us is the one for you. It really depends on the buyers taste and lifestyle. :)

    The fact of the matter for everyone commenting on this car, there really is no competitors with this size in this segment. Most people in big cities will not think of buying such a vehicle, but nearly 3/4 quarters of america live in SUBURBS. The only real competitors are the Benz GL (a little feminine for some taste), Range Rover (Biggest competitor), Lexus LX, Infinite Q80, and possibly Audi Q7 (Im stretching with the audi but for euro sake). For those with the means who don't want a dodge caravan or bus this fits perfectly in. Some people have families and your delusional if your over a 4 person home to not think of purchasing this vehicle. The rear needs some work in my opinion, but overall it meets its purpose. Not to meant to drag, or turn meant to haul large numbers of people in comfort. I love a GTR but if I am headed on a long trip no doubt ESCALADE....that's what a american's do most often. This would sell in europe in short wheel base with a diesel or hybrid. Russians , Middle East, South America, and Africa love Escalade's if they could get there hands on it.

    2015 Cadillac escalade VS 2015 Lincoln Navigator

    • @ThePopfrazz
      @ThePopfrazz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's funny how the Yukon Denali/Cadillac Escalade were made as a response to the Lincoln Navigator in the late 90's, and the GM SUVs have definitely established more presence, especially since they have been making more differences in the lineup of SUVs. Like in the early 2000's, if you've seen one GM interior, you've seen them all. But now you can clearly see differences in the interior of a mid range GM SUV (Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/XL) and of a base model Escalade. And from the looks the Navigator has always been an Expedition with Lincoln emblems.

    That Lexus looks pretty boring and plain to me. With regards to the CUE system, I drive a CTS vsport and I honestly don't find it difficult to use. I can understand why people would want some knobs or buttons for the radio or climate control though. It's a matter of getting used to it. The only complain I have is when I connect my iPod sometimes there's a lag while I'm changing the song.

    At sea level, the Lexus AWD hits 0-60 in six seconds.
    The Cadillac will be around 6.5 seconds.
    The column-mounted shift stalk on the Caddy, and CUE, are major issues that reek of cost-cutting, or just poor execution in a luxury vehicle.

    If you want to look like you spent 90k on a vehicle get the Escalade. The Lexus looks like it's MSRP would be 60k.

  • @scottwilkins

    Comfort wise, the Escalade is 100 times more comfortable.

    They need to redue this with 2017 Escalade with an 8 speed this 15 had 6 speed it would have done a lot better if it had the 8 speed

      Don't forget to set aside about $15k for repairs once the warranty is up. Unless things have changed recently they're highly unreliable.

    When I compare the price for other US cars this one seems expensive. Body on frame should be much cheaper and considering how much cheaper the other trucks they mentioned that are built on the same frame, it feels like this truck is at least $30K over it's real value.

    I had the money, but my loaded 2015 Escalade cost me only $83,000 out the door with every accessory and extra Cadillac could cram into the Escalade. I have no idea where they bought or got their Escalade from because they dun got robbed.....

    • @ThePopfrazz
      @ThePopfrazz 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's in the 30-40% range. I expect they will sell more high end (platinum) escalades because they were refreshed and will feature a new 8-speed transmission.
