Four years ago you could purchase a Compass Trail Hawk in the 30K range. There has been some upgrades ( interior, new turbo engine) but nothing to substantiate the 16K increase in price. Jeep has lost their minds.
I bought a fully loaded Kia Telluride 2 1/2 years ago for just under 49k. The only option I didn't get was premium paint. I think Jeep is asking way too much for their vehicles. They must add a 8k to 12k premium just for being a Jeep.
Insane pricing. Even within Jeep own lineup that’s absurd. A hardtop four door 2024 Willys Wrangler JL has an MSRP of 47k. And that has a proper rear locker, part time 4x4 system.
MY 2015 Jeep Cherokee lasted only 8 years, only 90,000 miles, reliability was horrible after the first year. The first year it needed a battery replacement, the "start-stop" stopped working, the sun visor fell out into my lap while I was driving which also shorted out the interior lights, the infotainment system never worked right from day one, paint started peeling, etc.,.....all with very light use. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at the need for an engine rebuild. as one of the cylinders was not firing, I dont even drive hard or fast.The engine light practically stayed on for 8 years no matter if I brought it to the dealership or any mechanic. Two weeks ago I decided to cut my loses and traded it in on a new 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid. Wow what a difference! Hate to say it but I would not buy another American/Mopar vehicle. All that said I do think the Jeeps are cool and maybe the latest generation is much better, I hope so! YMMV
Ya but you wont find any other compact suv with that 4x4 sytem, 19" water, and rock climbing capability. Plus the interior is nearly luxurious. The closest competitor is ford broncosport

Back then, the Chrysler had flooded the rental car companies with Jeep Compasses. You could buy a used rental with less then 30K miles for $13K-$18K with just a tiny bit of car shopping.
The rear subwoofer in my 2011 Compass Latitude is taking up a considerable amount of space in the rear also? The Boston Acoustic sound system is one of the best speaker systems I've hear in a cheap SUV? The CVT is it's downfall in my opinion? It's absolutely horrible? They would have a contender, if they would have just stop throwing those CVT's in the Compass? The turbo will wipe the CVT out in no time? Got the vehicle from family whom were the wife's 85 year old grandparents, so at 24K it wasn't abused and dealer serviced? It's been completely slipping after 3K RPM since a little after receiving it? If you baby it around, it will get you where you need to go, but it will get you into trouble, if you need to step on it in a hurry? Mind you, it only has 58K on it now?
The prices on newer Jeeps are a complete joke, especially when you can get vehicles from bigger segments for around the same price or less compared to this trim on the Compass. I could get a lower trim SUV from the Japanese and Korean brands for cheaper or around this price, and some of these vehicles could either be from the midsized segment like the Kia Sorento, Honda Passport, etc. with much bigger interior dimensions. This also applies to vehicles that compete in the larger mid-sized three row segments like the lower trims of the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Nissan Pathfidner, Mazda CX-90, etc. In addition, there are better vehicles that offer lower prices in the compact SUV segment that offer more features and better interior dimensions (along with some hybrid options) like the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Rav 4, Honda CRV, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-50, etc.

I take the driver, three wood, and 3 hybrid out of the bag, and put the bag diagonally. Then I put the 3 clubs in diagonally by themselves. I tried it out before I bought it. Net would have been the Cherokee.
I smoked all the SUV's today lol they tried going faster and I just put my foot down left them behind, double lane hwy, felt as a race car dro er lmao. Good little vehicle but no room in the back for passengers. I have one fully loaded with all options and features
46k is absurd. I just rented one for a week, what an awful little car. It's gutless, doesn't ride all that great, the interior build quality is trash, fuel mileage was only 22mpg on a 500mi trip, and any offroad capability is a marketing gimmick. I'd take my Rubicon any day of the week for the price point vs capability.

In 2013 I purchased at Jeep grand Cherokee limited with a diesels engine for 44K it was an amazing truck and now a compass cost more come on man!
