Beans you will get it one day bro. I have the controller on the way as well and hopefully I pray I do not crash like this, but we do have two years of care!
If you want to remove the ND filter, do not pull the tabs or just crash...Great video..Thinking of adding DJI to the arsenal but not sure if I should just stick with Goggles 2 for 03 air unit
Nicely done! Really think you should keep doing the voice over with your flights, it adds a very engaging personal element and shares More information as we enjoy your flying. Wish you said a bit more in your summation at the end...Like would You buy it, who Should buy it, is it louder than a regular 5" quad, did you get a full 22 minutes flight time, how fast is it...that kind of stuff maybe . You have a very likable video personality and I hope to see more of ya bud ! Thanks for putting this together and sharing it BZ.
Nice to hear your thoughts on this, the image after you put it through post came out great. Suck you lost the ND filter… p.s. Never knew you had a channel, I just subscribed and will checkout your videos. Cheers bud!
That thing moves pretty fast. The goggles are very interesting with the front cameras. How do you think those goggles compare to other goggles without the head thing? I really like that you can adjust the camera angle to whatever you want also. I like your narration also.
Great video lots of tips. I just received my Avata 2, so sounds like you suggest to fly in 4K 60 Wide with EIS turned off then run through Gyro flow. I use Davinci Resolve what setting to you use in Davinci. Just trying to copy the nice stable footage you were getting. Thanks Dave....
That's right. In 16:9 you can get hdr, and in 4:3 you can get a superview non-linear stretch. There's an open FX plug-in for gyroflow you can use in daVinci resolve free. With studio it's basically plug and play, with free you need to create the gyroflow file in the stand-alone app first and then apply the plug-in in the effects and finally link the gyroflow file in the plugin.
@@BrandonBeans Wow thanks so much for getting back to me. I do have Studio, and I just did a test flight in 16:9 will have to try the 4:3. Will have to look for the open RX plug-in for for Davinci. Again thanks so much for all the info will let you know how it goes.. Dave....
Definitely be a great drone for exploration and bandos, and possibly drift cars. Just watch out for those trees 🌳 But i hear Ian's pretty good at tear downs haha
Seriously considering selling my 5 in freestyle quad and all my cinewhoops and toothpicks for something like this. Seems much more reliable and all in one solution. Running dji vista and elrs on all quads, all 6s. I use most of this stuff for cinematic stuff such as indoor flythroughs, would give me extra piece of mind flying indoors with all those sensors
It's been an impressive experience so far, but keep in mind that if you have an incident then you will be down a week to 10 days while DJI gets it repaired or replaced. DJI offers a premium service option for faster turnaround. I dropped it from a very high tree and my drone is currently in DJIs repair center (yes, I know that escalated quickly 😅) and I'm not able to make videos for another week more than likely... It almost makes sense to keep 2 drones if you are busy.
@@BrandonBeans my plan rn is to buy the avata 2 fly more with dji care, and the manual controller. Sell my current quads (3) and setup (dji goggles 1, radiomaster zorro elrs) and then buy the 04 air unit when it comes out and build a freestyle quad and use the new controller and goggles with that.
@@toasti2699 That could work. Still no work around about the fabled o4 airunit though, knowing DJI its coming but could be a bit of a wait. @@BrandonBeans Did you get dji care with your initial purchase or just sent it in for dji repair? I recall the old one was cheaper to just send in without dji care.
I just wrote my Avata 2 off the same way you crashed first time; I bumped the ground on a split-s, got the error message so went to flip it into normal mode to fly it back and it rolled and tanked into the ground. I thought it was my mistake first for hitting the mode button not emergency stop but after seeing it happen to you and subsequently you flipping it into normal from manual without it crashing now I’m not so sure whether it’s a glitch 🤔 At least yours didn’t break!
I would try and get it replaced. If you hit brake, return to home, normal or sport modes after the crash in manual it will FREAK OUT. Better to land very softly in manual and double tap Start/Stop, then the motors will shutdown.
@@BrandonBeans that’s mental, just seen it happen to someone else too. Yeah luckily I got care refresh but glad to know it wasn’t something I did (aside from the initial bump)

At the moment i comeback to my country (Venezuela, Latinamerica) should my dron put in FCC Mode automatically? Or should i do it "manually"? Also before to go back to my country i will visit Indonesia, i guess the dron will put automatically in FCC Mode too? Thanks a lot in advance
For Gyroflow workflows in post. 4 by 3 gives more sensor, 16 by 9 has a crop. If you don't want the option for Gyroflow (I think it looks better than Rocksteady) then you can use 16 by 9 and the ultrawide fov
I could see it being useful with the motion controller as your only option. I didn't use that feature much yet though as it's just for normal and sport modes.
But, it has easy acro on it and I haven't even finished that video yet! But for real, I'm putting it though it's paces for my regular audience. Sorry if I offended you... I do like the drone!
I would not use that Disarm button ever.. it kills the motors, for good. Wish DJI would just remove it or make it so it can not be pressed accidental like it can now

1:14 how did you select normal mode using just the Motion Controller 3? It's the trigger the "click" to press on your selection?
I explain it all here: th-cam.com/users/shortsg7Xy2-hzCXM?si=HJDNbV7TWe-fkqxR

Somehow it reminded me of cruising in a ‘68 Impala. Comfy, not sporty. Cheers!

what settings do you record in that allow you to have gyroflow data
You simply need to set FOV to "Wide" and also EIS off (no Rocksteady) and that's it.
