This is so useful for me, I am planning to rebuild a triumph engine in a year or so, just wanted to build my knowledge of whats involved. Thank you very much!
Thanks for taking the time to film this video series 👍🏼 You've certainly given some great nuggets of useful information. You're really good at explaining the fine points 🤘🏻
I have a 71 t120r that's getting hard to find third gear. Wants to go to neutral between third/fourth. I'll shift slow for a bit. Thanx for the show I'll be opening it up this winter. Great stuff. Well shot.
Hi @dirtyshirtrichter enjoyed the lucid style of explaining stuff and your simple approach to putting the gearbox together. I have a 1972 bonneville OIF and wondering if you knew that 1970 onwards 1970 included the camas are both 3124 intake and exhaust and when one puts the intake cam one tooth advanced as a bonneville should be timed one opens a can of worms. The bike looses its torque and underperforms . Needs a 105degree exhaust cam centre to get the power back which neccetates the use of the intermediate or vernier cam positions and making custom marks to line up the cams. Also insulation of the carb from the head either with a 1/8 inch Bakelite flange or the o ring on the fixed spigot to keep the mount semi floating or suspended with only a rubber contact is very important in summer and high temp traffic riding .
Thanks for the videos . I learn so much. Can I ask you a question please. The intermediate timing gear, on my engine the shaft this runs on is not a tight fit in the engine case , is this an issue?
you may be better off making one. this one i have is very old snapon. the hardest part is finding something thin enough to fit but strong enough to not fail
Hi mate; here most problems are from the machinist (mostly with the heads) not from a mechanic so really this guy did not do enough research about these engines plus that he is a loctite lover! You forgot to mention about a very important thing like the rings gaps and skipped many important parts ha ha. I know I know; time consuming. Can I ask you about how many minutes a long video like this takes to upload to ytube? With a normal internet connection. Thanks
Thanks for shooting this procedure for us. I always learn something new... for example in this one I learned "if it takes more than a fist (to put barrel over the cylinders) something is wrong." Who's this Dan person and where do I buy his gaskets?

Hi, from Venezuela, do You have manual electri sistems?
Thanks for the videos . I learn so much. Can I ask you a question please. The intermediate timing gear, on my engine the shaft this runs on is not a tight fit in the engine case , is this an issue?
depends on how "loose" it is man
Hi. I would describe it as push fit, if you know what I mean.
Did you check the sludge trap as I bet that the previous builder didn't!.
yes every crank that comes in my shop gets the trap removed even if i dont show it i always put eyes on it. im glad you share the same concern as me!
What type of sealant on base gasket and one or both sides get it? I use copper base gasket..no good?
Did you replace the rotor on this one? Thanks
YES! it was so bad
@@dirtyshirtrichter8647 it look bad and it look like it was changed. Wahoo!
Hello,
where to buy 12 point nut spanner for torque (46;02)
Greetings

Just wondering if the sludge trap was inspected?
always, if a crank is in my shop i will always open and inspect even if they say its clean haha

I'm not loving the blue accents on the engine, but maybe I'd change my mind if I saw the entire bike.
i wish i could say you would... but i dont think so lol
