And what is sad is he made a few plays like that. In game one he made a crazy play like that. I got the whole dvd set from the dodgers series. I need the Milwaukee series. They don’t win the ws without utley and he should have been the ws mvp. Hamels pitched 2 great games and I think he won it for all 5 starts, not his 2 ws starts. Utley hit a homer in his 1st ws at bat and they took a hold from there on. His defense was immaculate

I have been lucky enough to have been alive for the 1980 1993 2008 and 2022. 4 of the greatest Phillies teams ever. I was at the first game Cole hamels pitched in the show. Same night the Phillies moved in front of the new York Mets. I never heard the bank that loud when they showed the Mets lost. But I know the bank was a lot louder the past couple of years. I love the Phillies win or lose. In the 60s I walked to Connie mack stadium with my dad. Am 64 years old and I have taken a lot of abuse over the years for loving the Phillies. But it's a Philly thing.

Now am 64 and we have ownership who doesn't care about spending money. And we are up there with the teams like the Yankees and red Sox and the dodgers. I mean anyone can see if you spend the money to get the best players. You are going to make a hell of a lot of money. Thank God for these new owners

That night, I was standing in the rain, in the crowd outside of Johnny Brenda's on Girard, watching the game through the window, because the bar was completely packed. I couldn't believe they didn't call the game after 5 innings, with the Phillies leading, it would have been recorded as a full game and a win for Philadelphia. Sadly, the night they played out the rest, I had rehearsal with my band, so I didn't get to watch the end live

The Phillies home field advantage is nuts. They didn’t lose once in 08. They only lost 2 games and they were last year in the World Series. They won every other game. This year they won every game so far. If they just win at home and in the road their home record isn’t as big bc they don’t need to come back. So in 2022 and 2023 they’re 10-2 8-0 in 2008. 6 more wins in 2023 and we have this again!!!

The Philadelphia sports teams were successful every season but that changed in 1987 when the Billy penn statue, which was the largest thing in Philadelphia, was surpassed by buildings taller than the statue and from then on the Philadelphia sports teams began to fail and suffer misfortunes every season. It was not until 2007 when the Billy penn statue was placed on the tallest building in Philadelphia and in the next MLB season Philadelphia became the Champions and also the NFL a few years later. Just for the record, the rays had 142 steals that year, phils 136. But I guess the running game ONLY benefited the rays. Smh.
