Those closeup comparisons at the end are great, easy to see which ones I need to prioritize getting.
Honestly best video on the contrast paints ! We can clearly see the difference between the new ones and old ones and even see the different behaviors among the new paints. That end part is extra useful and I will now use it when I want to compare paints, thanks a lot !
These are great. Not gonna lie I think I prefer the old yellows better. The new yellows don’t actually bring much contrast to the table despite their name
But they're so smooth!

Great review, and good to know that several of the colours don't actually give much contrast - the colour chart is awesome
Some of new ones seem to have less staining than old ones but that glacier 1 is awesome colour

Hey, 6 month old video, but still absolutely really great for visual comparisons and "see before you buy" contrast paints! I've picked up a few and I'm really enjoying some of them. I find that the Orange Magmadroth Flame is my best option to get a bright, vibrant orange basecoat on something, Imperial Fist does the same. RIght now I'm trying to go through my backlog and chew through a bunch of Kruleboyz, aiming for the, "slapchop," method. I've found that Iyanden Yellow is actually perfect for the Hobgrot skin. Iyanden Yellow has a lot of interesting hues inside of it and can change tone when double-layered, while the shadows over dark grey look almost green. I'm trying to find a combination for the regular pale desatured green Kruleboyz skin, but Gutrippa Flesh Contrast might be too drab for me, Mantis Warrior Green looks quite bright and odd but the more I look it, the more it seems like it could fit better. Thanks for the video!

Hello! How did you get such a smooth finish? Was it airbrushed over a white primer?
No, just painted on with a brush. My advice for getting smoother result with Contrast paints is to be generous with the paint application, waiting for a little while, and then soak up any excess paint that has build up on flat areas or in the little crevices with a clean brush. This way the medium can do it's job and you won't leave as many visible brush strokes.
So I got a question, was dreadfull visage done with an undercoat of white scar primer? If so, wouldn’t that combination be a good alternative for a zenithal highlight?
Yeah, it was applied over White Scar primer. I guess a zenithal basecoat could also work, but remember Dreadful Visage is one of the more subtle Contrast paints, so a black to white zenithal highlight might overpower it.

Great video as usual. Strange that some of them like Baal Red don't really seem to show the contrast shading effect and almost seem like re-releases of the old red ink for example

Love the comparison, and for some reason the new ones feel like they get a smoother, less grainy/pigmented finish? Maybe that's because they're new from the factory and the old ones just stood there for a while, separating the pigments from the medium a bit more?
Maybe, but I feel they're not so different. Some colours dry smoother, some less so, just like the old Contrast colours.
What are you using for your paint chart? I’d like my own to use with other brands.

I hate the stupid names .We have to look twice for a colour and then check its name that often has no relevance to the shade it has
