Baal Red may be the most beautiful red I’ve ever seen. I may use “Gargak’s Sewer” on my “Misery Company Painted Chaos Space Marines” then go over it with Baal Red to give them like a bright grunge look.

Mantis Warrior Green is my new favorite as it replaces my old formula for Ork skin. Rather the formula I stole from you. I just love this color. Thanks for the list. I have to pick up some Sigvald Burgundy to do some scars and gore on my Kill Team Ork Kommandos!

I'm all about Magmadroth Flame for all my volkite weapons. Sigvald burgundy, garaghaks sewer and pylar glacier are also some of my new go too paints.

So far for me is Striking Scorpion for my Necrons. I wanted to get them to look Dawn of War style where what I found out was when they are primed with Admech Grey and shaded with Nuln Oil it gives it a really cool looking dark grey color then I use Striking Scorpion for a more "activating weapon" kind of glow and the tesseract glow for more of a normal glow look.

I decided yesterday to add Luxion, Ironjawz, Striking Scorpion and Aeldari Emerald to my 18 other contrast paints.
I was really in need of a purple. Wasn't satisfied with the ones I obtained mixing other contrast paints
I have Iyanden Yellow with its orange shadows is fine, it allowed me to get a beautiful orange while mixing it with Blood Angel Red, but I wanted a more pure contrasted yellow in addition.
Only have one green (Warp Lightning), so I needed other tones.
I just bought Volupus Pink a couple of month ago, I wish I would have waited and got Sigvald instead.
Asurmen seems pretty, but it is too close from Talassar.
Garaghak's Sewer is very nice, but I got all the other browns already, so I will try to mix a touch of Wyldwood with Aggaros or Snakebite. It might do the trick.

My top 10 is contrast medium and what ever acrylic paint I want to use at the time. 😁 granted i have been on an oil paint thing lately because blends and not worrying about paint drying and stuff.

I must be doing something wrong with my Templar black because I never see any contrasting with it. Could be the primer I’m using or maybe I need to water it down if use Contrasts medium. Thanks for the review. I agree Baal is a fantastic shade and I love it. I need to try out the other new colors you recommend.

Hmm, some colors like Black Templar have some odd inconsistencies and I've found it generally comes down to how well I've shaken the pot. If I don't do it well enough the paint separates as I am workin with it and it tends to leave me with a much less varied shadows and highlights. Perhaps that's what's occurring for you as well if you find adding more water or contrast medium doesn't solve the problem.

I agree with Ultramarines blue, it’s too dark for me and often leaves a mottled effect on power armour. I went to Talasaar blue instead, love that colour and gives my Ultramarines that classic 90’s look, with red bolters and yellow trims.

Still refuse to use contrast paints even though Speed Paints have revolutionized my painting work flow.
Not paying twice as much for the same product.
Gravelord Gray is my most used Speed Paint.
