So the way I look at the difference between Nurgle and The Horned Rat is this: Nurgle creates plagues to be a form of life, because it is. They may not be pleasant, but bacteria, fungus, parasites, and feces serve an important role in nature. Nurgle is simply the extreme version of this aspect. Pestilins and the Great Horned Rat are quite different. It’s not about honoring the more fetid aspects of life…it’s about eradication and conquest. They see the plagues as means of destroying their foes, and much of their plagues are not necessarily bacteria or viruses…as it is virulent toxins and chemicals. Pestilins are akin to hazardous substances, poison gases, and even radiation that are designed to make life inhospitable (save for the Skaven). Whereas Nurgle seeks to keep some sort of ecosystem and relative biodiversity with his plagues.

@8:23 I hope Lord Skrolk gets a new model for AoS. Pestilens perfects - and really actually IS - biological warfare. Save for Nurgle, they wield the deadliest diseases in existence at the detriment of all others, including other Skaven. I know that the Great Clans are supposed to represent the Horned Rat in various guises and Clan Pestilens embodies the pestilential, plague-induced horror of disease!
The story goes that clan pestulins broke out In a mass exodus from lustria. They made a b line for the coast to escape to the south lands. It was a war in itself just to accomplish this. At the hight of the fighting the prophesied lizardmen God, sotek arose from the volcano on the serpents island and pursued clan pestulins into the sea all the way to the south lands where he delved into the earth and hunts the skaven to this day.
I kind of wish there they make a little cool figurines of the scavens not like figurines like actual moving characters like you can move around switch their body lens and such actually like to have one as a skaven

"don't know about slaneesh tho" i mean Skaven are more prideful, egotistical, gluttonous, selfish and only capable of thinking of themselves and what makes them happy, then any other race.
@@TheCreepyLantern i meant is there a clan who can be linked to him/her. Cause ofcourse all skaven clans have all of these attributes in them of each of the gods
This is something I believe myself, that the Great Horned Rat is a Chaos God that feeds off the others like a rat in the shadows. He’s taking bits and pieces of them to empower himself. Plagues, Bloodlust, Magic, and Desire. Alternatively and perhaps additionally, I hypothesize that the Great Horned Rat used to be one of the Old Ones too. Maybe a lesser, forgotten one. (Then again, I think the Old Ones perhaps turned into the various gods of the world.) Ever wondered how or why the polar gates came crumbling down and the Old Ones fled? Or the fact Warpstone exists in great quantities? What if one of their number wanted to take control of the Warhammer world for himself, while amassing greater power? So he collapsed the gates and empowered himself with the mutating energies of Chaos? What if that one became the Great Horned Rat and raised the Skaven as his “chosen” race? A sort of foil to the Lizardmen. IMHO, it would tie-in nicely with the long-standing rivalry between the Lizardmen and Skaven.
So the way I look at the difference between Nurgle and The Horned Rat is this:
Nurgle creates plagues to be a form of life, because it is. They may not be pleasant, but bacteria, fungus, parasites, and feces serve an important role in nature. Nurgle is simply the extreme version of this aspect.

@@Greshgore I admit that thought did cross my mind but there's always the "what if" that gets me and I love it.
They hate each other
Always nice 👌 I'm right now in a rebound of buying warhammer stuff again after selling it all 🤷♂️
Nurgle must love this clan
They do collaborate on occasion. They worked together to spread a plague in a major empire city once.
The Liber Bubonicus predicted this video
Clan pestilens campaign ongoing .. yes yesss
Nice, we got Carl Sagan narrating this one!
Please do this same format for all factions!!!
So basically they work for papa nurgle without knowing
Imagine if this channel had like a Netflix type budget to make content!
It’s the year of the Tiger… good year for big hungry cats.
I love how the greatest punishment a plague priest can receive is “the clean”
2nd happy new year🥳
I hear Skrolk Clawed out his eyes when he saw how ugly Nurgle was
And yet the damnable beast still has legendary perception on the battlefield
When he saw plague lord nurglich he saw such perfection in his repulsive sight that he clawed his own eyes out so nothing would obscure that perfection ever again.
Did you also have the storys from Morathi, Helebron, Skrotz or Clan Skryre?
Awsome video yess yess
Skavens. Masters of Bio-Warfare
We need more on clan pestilence
Yeah I gotta see the minions of Nurgles see some competition of these rat man
I bet when thanquol comes out he will be leading some sort of gray seer clan. It'd be interesting then to see cairos fate weaver and thanquol in a fight-nash. Yes-yes.
plague monks are like nurgle's plague marines
@8:23 I hope Lord Skrolk gets a new model for AoS.
Pestilens perfects - and really actually IS - biological warfare. Save for Nurgle, they wield the deadliest diseases in existence at the detriment of all others, including other Skaven. I know that the Great Clans are supposed to represent the Horned Rat in various guises and Clan Pestilens embodies the pestilential, plague-induced horror of disease!
wasn't the skavens wiped out by the lizard men?
The story goes that clan pestulins broke out In a mass exodus from lustria. They made a b line for the coast to escape to the south lands. It was a war in itself just to accomplish this. At the hight of the fighting the prophesied lizardmen God, sotek arose from the volcano on the serpents island and pursued clan pestulins into the sea all the way to the south lands where he delved into the earth and hunts the skaven to this day.
I kind of wish there they make a little cool figurines of the scavens not like figurines like actual moving characters like you can move around switch their body lens and such actually like to have one as a skaven
We actually sure that skroll dont get his headpats from old not so furry but jolly gradpa, or that nurglitch aint just said gradpa in a wig?
I hope not. We need more independent evil factions not less.
@@garretth8224 not denying that, would just help that guy in charge of a biowarfare faction werent named nurglitch.
Can we get a video in the Warrior Priests of Sigmar??
i wonder if the horned rat isn't just some culmination of the 4 chaos gods. you got pestilance who are clearly nurgle for their boners on plagues, skyre are the science and magic clan which is tzeench, clan mors with their red armor and clan moulder creating warbeasts are khorne. don't know about slaneesh tho
(Then again, I think the Old Ones perhaps turned into the various gods of the world.)
Ever wondered how or why the polar gates came crumbling down and the Old Ones fled? Or the fact Warpstone exists in great quantities?
What if one of their number wanted to take control of the Warhammer world for himself, while amassing greater power? So he collapsed the gates and empowered himself with the mutating energies of Chaos? What if that one became the Great Horned Rat and raised the Skaven as his “chosen” race? A sort of foil to the Lizardmen.
IMHO, it would tie-in nicely with the long-standing rivalry between the Lizardmen and Skaven.
Slaneesh? Well, the Skaven's rat wave tactics suggest they are quite good at making little ratlings.
*SKAVEN BEST RACE YES-YES! MUCH MORE-BETTER THAN FILTHY MAN-THINGS!*
