      Andrew Camarata has just rented a new Yanmar VIO80 excavator with a detachable hydraulic jackhammer before he has just bought 2 used excavators: a Yanmar B37 with a Tramac hammer and a Kubota KX121-3 with a Rockblaster hammer.

Where are you finding all of these machines?? I live near Seattle and there is a dealer nearby who specializes in grey market equipment - I can’t seem to make any sense of his pricing scheme.
    Other than cost, is there a reason you gravitate to the “b” series machines? Are the older machines better? Can you make any comparison between an older Yanmar excavator such as you have and a newer VIO 35?

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am used to operating 3 types of skid steer controls. The older skid steers; you move with you hands, and your feet control the bucket, this system is ok, not great, it takes time to learn.
      On the bobcat 864, its still moves with both hands, then moving both control sideways moves the bucket, this is ok, it takes time to learn. Plus in the bobcat its done with electronics, and I keep having problems with it.
      On the IHI, the bucket controls are the right hand like a loader, which is nice. And moving the tracks is the left hand. This is ok, I kind of like the individual track controls from the bobcat, but the IHI system is probably quicker to learn, and more similar to a dozer.

    Yanmar makes some good equipment

    I've got to hammer some rock out of the way for an addition I want to put on my house, plus a few that are in the way in my yard. How long did it take for this particular job? I'm weighing a half day vs a whole day rental. I've run an excavator before but never a rock hammer on one.

    4:11 those tracks have some serious cuts in them for only having 5hrs on that machine... You have to be incredibly careful on rock with rubber tracks. Can destroy a set of tracks in seconds on sharp rock!

      They look fairly shallow and like they have been there before. In my opinion it doesn't look like it's from the rocks but from a guy loading/ unloading and cut it on a corner pice of metal from a ramp or going to close to the side of a trailer with that stupid little lip they sometimes have. Just my 2 cents and I am with diesel it's a rental just no fucks to give that's why you ha e to buy insurance lmfao

      He has a Yanmar excavator he owns with rubber tracks and no gashes, so it's probably just from a previous renter. Good things to stay aware of, regardless!
