Those who have never been in an excavator have no idea what a deft hand it takes to run one as you do. Moving the culvert with the bucket and not crushing it but burying it with the same motion.... slick. You make it look easy.
the main thing i noticed too! any reason you didn't work your way up? I like starting at the low point so you're not working in water/mud the whole time.
It’s amazing how the boom, dipper, and bucket become one with you, especially when you’re doing fine work......I used to practice with the bucket full of water to develop a smooth non jerking flow.
I’ll be honest with you ,your videos are addiction to me. I spend hours and hours watching these awesome videos. Love and peace from Saudi Arabia to you and good American.
Hi Andrew from Australia, like everyone else watching you, I love the blond supervisor. Like most supervisors he never actually does any work, just barks some orders and then wanders off to see what he can find, goes for a swim in the neighbours pool, and comes back when you've finished the work to pass criticism! You have a wonderful job, and do great work fixing all these issues and like most of the other comments say, "watching you is addictive". I'm jealous because I should have gone into you line of business. Thanks, Ray
In childhood I had a dog breed Scottish Sheepdog (collie). very smart. you are doing business, and he is constantly around, the company is up, and somehow it is more pleasant to get things done right away.
Andrew, having followed your channel for many years, I enjoyed re-watching this video when YT suggested it. It was wonderful to watch the great QC inspector running around keeping an eye on your work. Thanks to you, people like me who never met Levi, will always hold him in our hearts because of you. Thanks again for your content and it was fun watching Cody be the QC in the recent CAT bulldozer video.

I used one of the techniques I learn from you on a 1 mile driveway the other day. It also got me the job because I didn’t have to haul 10 loads of rock in to fill the ditches that had washed out in the driveway. I dug the rock from a big bank behind the house and hauled it down the driveway. Thanks.

as soon as Andrew starts working the chief inspector ( Levi ) is there to inspect and by the looks of his tail he definitely likes what he see's, I envy everything about you and your life Andrew!
I see that Levi knows when it's quitting time. 15:50 to 15:59. I had a Lab. that looked just like him and he went to work with me every day. He also knew when it was time to go home, sometimes he insisted! Levi brings back a lot of great memories. Thanks for the videos!

Watching some of your older videos i see theres people talking shit and making negative comments but i hope you dont let those discourage you from making videos. Keep it up!

looks like a good job. however, the place i worked & got my pipe from recommended to go no less than 1' deep to prevent the pipe from being crushed by traffic. i've also heard to use some sand or dirt that touches the pipe to prevent rocks from puncturing the pipe. but those are DOT standards & they over-do everything. hope it does well for ya & this video might solve a squabble i'm having with a relative, about letting run-off flow atop the road. that has "bad idea" written all over it.
We replace a lot of these plastic culverts I work for hwy dept most of the time the plastic is usually not low enough on driveway connections and they work up or collapse after several years we only use galvanized pipe no plastic but I guess it depends On were you work at. some use concrete and the plastic culvert pipes. But for as our dot we only use galvanized and usually do not have any problems other than if one isn’t installed properly and it gets to filling up with debris or undermining they will rust out but usually it’s a very long time before replacement all the plastic ones I have replaced have holes collapsed or just worked up out of ground being too shallow.that is usually the case. But I can see one deep enough it would last a lifetime. Andrew you got some nice skills there. And I enjoy your videos thanks.
I had to replace my driveway culvert a few years back, my township will do the work if I buy the pipe. I asked about going to 8 or 12" pipe from the 15" that was there for added cover and said it wasn't needed. Small/smooth stone is best but the smooth bore double wall pipe is extremely strong and will hold up fine with only a few inches of cover.
Thank you for your entertaining vids. I've had a very tough year and your vids helped me by distracting me from my grieving. Your vids allowed me some temporary relief from my hearache. I know this all might sound weird, but you've helped he get over the hump. Sincere thx!
do u have any trouble with ticks getting on ur yellow lab up there? in the last month we have pulled a dozen off our golden retriever so far. hadn't been bothered for many yrs till just this last month. yeah-i always liked putting culverts in too.
I hate to say it . But you dot have enough material on that culvert pipe. You need a minimum of 12 inches of gravel But 18 would be better and not those rocks that you threw in there. Those culverts are going to fail when a heavy vehicle drives over them.

I would consider digging a small catch basin at the head of each culvert to catch dirt and debris, thus less change of a plugged up culvert.
I was wondering about debris - a catch basin sounds a good plan.
Used to watch you all the time. Now drive a ‘97 Montero sport and saw the thumbnail of your Montero. Got excited. Now I’m here haha
