  • Fishing on my 17ft Wilson Flyer in the solent just off gurnard for Bass and Bream. mackerel fishing started the day off after seeing birds working on the mainland side just out of cowes. managed to Get some underwater footage of the Bass chasing the Whitebait under the boat. Headed down to Gurnard to set the anchor and start bait fishing. Anchoring in 55ft of water with some good tide started the bites off quick with a Bull Huss, Conger and a SmoothHound. The bites slowed down so I tried up tiding but didn't seem to bring much luck.
All in all was a lovely day fishing with the weather on my side. Ill be heading back out this weekend still in search for some Bass and Bream for the table.

For kayaking depending on the wind I would try out the back of the island launching from freshwater bay. On a calm day it’s perfect. Or sandown/shanlkin… I’ve always done week out the back of the island on my old kayak. Hope this helps 😊
