What an amazing beginners guide to printing. i have the Ender 3 Pro V2 and you have made it so much easier for me to understand as have watched a couple of videos but yours has been the best. I so much look forward to many more video installments to help beginners and discuss other different aspect of Ultimaker Cura. Thanks again and take care
Excellent guide to using Cura, having just purchased my first 3D printer a week ago this tutorial has helped massively on my path to perfect print. Thank you
Great tutorial video!!! Nice job!!! You just answered many questions that I have been asking. This has been the best 24 minutes in my newbie #D printer experience. I have only done the test prints and struggled to get information to be able to print from computer to printer.
Wow, great video, I am new at 3D printing and thank God for my tech guy - my 16 year old Grandson. I have a FlashForge Guider II and have a long way to go. My issue at this point is the stringing, we shall see... I am going to download the Cura Slicer now, thanks, Bob
Thank you so very much. You did exactly what I was looking for a step-by-step tutorial! You also did an outstanding job and laying it out and presenting everything. I am new to 3-D printing I just got my 3-D printer a couple of days ago and I was a little skeptical at first until I saw your videos. Thank you again and please keep up the outstanding work for those of us that are just starting to hobby.
i think ill get my printer sometime in the future and i never used a 3d printer and i am getting one for my engineering class but also for fun i will be getting an flsun super racer which is a delta style printer i was wondering if there are global settings that every print can use or if i will have to figure out every time i print as a rookie i will have limited time and limited mats so i dont want to wasre mats that i cant afford just general questions not looking for any super complex answer anything helps
I am looking at getting into 3D printing. Thank you for sharing this awesome and very informative video. I look forward to seeing more of your video's to learn more about 3D printing.
Thanks for video. I have an Ender 3 V2, I did not see any option for this version so added Ender 3 settings, I had to change the printer dimensions. Wondering if there is anything else I need to change.
Great video, very informative, thank you. If I'm using a Creality Ender 3 Pro for printing, what file format am I saving out to after I've sliced the model in Cura? Thank you.
Why does everytime I try to print something after using cura slicer, I have problems with the item sticking(1st layer). But when I print items from the sd card(that came with the printer). I don't have problems.
So, I have an Ender 5, it has the same x and y but z is 300. I have it set to 220 x and y. I cant print anything larger than 200. Are you saying I should set it at 235?
Hey I have a question my 3d printer won't let me print any gcodes at all I sliced it and it only says it will go around the ring of the top of the ship please help
Awesome and well informed. Question, why when I’m done slicing and checking preview it only last for a second? But it’s says 1hr and 30min but previewing it only did it in seconds? Does that count?
Your presentation is excellent. Easy to follow along with. I have a printer that i'm building on my own. I'm using an SKR V2 board from BigTreeTech. My question is, what printer selection would you make when adding a printer? I tried the Creality CR-10. Im getting a weird behavior: The Nozzle primes ok and spits out some filament, but shortly thereafter, the extruder retracts the filament with each command. I'm trying to print the infamous boat for my first attempt. I have not modified the sliced code in any way.
how do you import a model and have it be the exact same size at the model you created. When I import a model it is either super tiny.... and I have to go back to my cad drawing and measure it again and scale best i can to that measure.... ( royal pain in the A**) or it will autoscale and be huge when I open it.. So just WTF on how to create a model in CAD, and import the STL and have it just be the same damn size. Any help appreciated! total beginner here.. Lastly are there any good instruction manuals for these printers on how to operate the controller on the printer. The book that came with it sucks. I got a CR10 Smart Pro... Just fumbling around trying to figure out how to load the plastic, etc.. Doesn't really tell you how to heat it up to do that. Again, just WTF..
Thank you, I'm new to 3D printing. How would I get this program to work with MY printer? I have the Flashforge Finder and it is not listed in the printers list in the program.
You have to add the 'custom printer' option in the add printers window. Then input your printer's bed size, print area height, heated bed, filament size, number of extruders, etc.
Try to find a 3D printer that looks like yours and has similar attributes. If that is listed in Cura, you may be able to away with that. Irv of Dr. Vax shows how to customise your code to get starting th-cam.com/video/9Ja9utWCKWA/w-d-xo.html
I am new to this. do you need to use Cura in order to create the files? I have some example files in STL format. but when i process in cura, I end up with some Gcode files. Do I need them both, or just the STL or Gcode file ? Thank you
I hate to bother but I have a problem with Cura. I tried using v4.71 awhile back and couldn't use it. Now I'm trying 4.8. The problem is Cura will open but when I click on the folder to import a .stl the program flashes "file explorer" and shuts down. I can't find help on Cura website.
Both have their pros and cons. Simplyfi3D is commercial software you have to pay for. Cura is free. There are other free slicers around such as Prusa Slicer and Slic3r. However, I would suggest you use Cura as there are more support videos on TH-cam to get you going.
Following this video's recommendation I just installed Cura on my W7 system. It will not execute, it just comes up with a bunch of Python errors. After thirty plus years of messing with sucky software installations I don't bother troubleshooting any more. If it crashes after installation I just delete it and look for something that doesn't. It's a shame as Cura seems to hold out a lot of promise.
Finally, someone who can explain Cura to me in terms I can understand. You have a new subscriber

You just got another subscriber, unlike so many other people you break each thing down so that we know what it does and why it helps!
This has been the best Cura guide I've watched so far, very through, well explained, and nicely paced.
just getting started with 3D printing. i added this video as bookmark, i'll be watching this one a few more times. thanks for this one (y)

Helped me all the way through my first project. Great video man, thank you!
I'm doing my homework for my first 3D printer and this answered a lot of my questions! Will have a look at your other videos as well. Cheers!
Same boat 👍👍🥳
I will be sure to share this video link in all the reddit 3D printing groups I'm in :) Well done
redditor moment
Very nice beginner tutorial. Thanks.

Great into video to Cura. Well done. I would recommend this to anyone that is interested in learning this software package.
Literally watching all of your videos.
Thank you for all your hard work
This is a great overview for someone (meaning me) who knows nothing about Cura. Clearly explained and easy to follow.
I am very new to 3D printing and it helped a lot and I watched like 30 vids and this is best so far
Thank you very much for your time & effort putting this video together; it is appreciated with the help & advice given.

TY for this video. It helped out this newby
I downloaded the Cura 4.8 but I can only select Ultimaker printers. I cannot find a way to set-up other printers ?
Thanks for video. I have an Ender 3 V2, I did not see any option for this version so added Ender 3 settings, I had to change the printer dimensions. Wondering if there is anything else I need to change.

Thank you sir I appreciate your work.
thank you finally someone that can actually explain. goddamn
Where did you downloaded that boat
I have a question after slicing I don't get save to file but save to disk instead what do I do
is it a problem if cura doesnt have my printer ? ender 3 neo i use a printer with the same build plate size
hi. can you tell me what graphic card do you have? I have got a problem with dispay models in cura.
Why does everytime I try to print something after using cura slicer, I have problems with the item sticking(1st layer). But when I print items from the sd card(that came with the printer). I don't have problems.
In my desktop is shift+Left mouse click for Pan arround thanks for the advise
can you change to inches instead of mm?
Question: I'm using Ubuntu Linux but I can't rotate the model at all. Is this particular to Linux?
So, I have an Ender 5, it has the same x and y but z is 300. I have it set to 220 x and y. I cant print anything larger than 200. Are you saying I should set it at 235?
Hey I have a question my 3d printer won't let me print any gcodes at all I sliced it and it only says it will go around the ring of the top of the ship please help
Inch’s would be impractical however you use a converter on google or something?
Awesome and well informed. Question, why when I’m done slicing and checking preview it only last for a second? But it’s says 1hr and 30min but previewing it only did it in seconds? Does that count?

Whenever I use cura my printer goes out of bounds, ie off the plate?? Does anybody know why?
great video thx for the help!
Thank you
What comes after
Very much appreciated - thanks so much for this video!
this cura can make support for resin printing?
I bought my ender 3 pro today and this isn’t very complicated
great video! Really well explained. thank you
How do I print?
very good video
Why my 3d printer print half print. I don't understand can you tell me. I am using anet et4 pro printer
Thank you!
Thanks for the help
Wait wait, I’m new, but is that accurate? 5hrs?
I am new to this. do you need to use Cura in order to create the files? I have some example files in STL format. but when i process in cura, I end up with some Gcode files.
Do I need them both, or just the STL or Gcode file ?
Thank you
The stl file is the source - the object you want to print. Cura generates a gcode file from it which the printer understands
So what software (free) would I use to design my potential parts?
tinkercad
Why does my printer reset each time I turn off and on
Can someone do something like this for a JellyBox 2
Nice vid
And another subscriber.
i have cura 4.8.0 and i cannot see the nozzle animation in preview as well as the play button/bar at the bottom, any help with this would be great.
Im looking to get a 3d printer and was wondering Is this the best slicer program, Or is it Simplify3d? Thank you. Great video!!!

sorry, but I have an ender 3 pro, and the print won't stick to the magnetic plate. Can you help me?
Check out this video th-cam.com/video/Vvp8whpRkw4/w-d-xo.html
Mine keeps crashing on preview

Checkout the thingibrowse cura extension
So you never showed how to create slice one file, but not imported tho.
Did I get it worng I didn't get that Paige pop up
Sorry, but the ender 3 bed size IS NOT 235mm, It's 220 X 220 X 250
Actually, it is 235mm if it is measured from edge to edge. The advertised area is 220, but it can print a little larger.
Hello
so its the right button for viewing
👍
hi
Decent video, but your dialect involves cutting off about 30% percent of every few words you say. Talk about a slicer!
We downloaded the software and I cannot find the printer we have to enable the software set up. EasyThreed Printer.
Excellent! Thank you for this video!
Whenever I use cura my printer goes out of bounds, ie off the plate?? Does anybody know why?
