Judging by all what you got it was VERY expensive. NOT WORTH IT!! There was enough wire to go to the moon it looked silly. Tap into the wiring of the reverse lights and call it a day, lol.
The output of this kit is far brighter than displayed. It all matters on camera settings. Plus, the harness is long and you have to obtain power from the battery. You cannot use just the tail lamps due to the high power draw. Hypothetically, if you had a trailer harness with your Tacoma you could obtain power from there.

Not sure about wiring from front to back of truck for a few lights 🤔
These are high-power lamps rocking TIR optics. Not general 12v lights.
Another alternative is the 13 dollar reverse light pack at whatever parts store. It is obviously not as good as this but factory lighting is what the 4runner(I'm assuming tacoma as well) lacks on lol

Though this kit looks professional and has all you need..... couldn't you tap into wires and just add a diode? Just curious as a cheap option?
Does it matter which tail light to hook up to? I connected it to the left tail light? I put mine to switch 1 and the lights don’t even coordinate with my trucks reverse lights and stays red.
