I subscribed to your channel and thanks so much for your video, I love these type of videos just get to the point ! Respectfully on other videos people talk about their life, and this and that , blah blah . this video is great A++
What size bore hole do you need in your door.? Mine is 1 3/4 and a lot of these locks require 2 1/8 and I don’t want to have to try and re drill the hole. Great video.
The top of your video shows the deadbolt sliding left on the (interior) left side of the door. But you switch to a deadbolt sliding right on the interior, further on. How do I install the dead bolt on the left side of the door? Or does this lock not allow that?
All locks allow for installation left or right on the door - they call it "handing". The confusion can creep in while looking at the direction and figuring out which "hand" you are installing. In most cases the door lock will figure it out on it's own. With some other locks the difference could be the orientation of the thumb key inside the door - either vertical or horizontal. Some locks, like Simplisafe, have little auxiliary pieces that you have to figure out which to use and how to orient it inside the latch. Really not that hard.
I change mine out yearly. My mom gets about two years on hers. It depends how much you use it. Also, using the module for home automation drains the battery as well.
With the door open put your hand on the screen to lock it. Still with the door open put in your code to unlock it. Pay attention to the bolt to see if it actuates out and in. Let us know if it works with the door open.
There is no key hole to pick this lock. I have seen youtube video for smart locks where they use other tricks like powerful magnet or closed the circuit by wires by opening front plates. Has this lock been picked? By pick I mean opened by someone by using some tricks or manipulation? Any way those were other brands smart locks and not sure about Yale lock. I don't want to spend more than $300 and only see it can be opened just by magnet or cheap trick. Can front plate be opened from outside?
Here is an explanation: The Yale Real Living lock will automatically determine whether it will function as a right or left-handed lock. (The "hand" or "handing" of the lock, is determined by the side of the entry door that the hinges are on when standing outside the door) When the batteries are properly inserted for the first time, the lock will attempt to determine its handing - whether the lock is installed on the door or not. If the lock is not completely installed on the door, it could hand itself incorrectly. Should this occur, the lock must be installed on the door and then reset to its factory defaults, allowing the lock to "hand" itself correctly. No one has explained how to connect to the wifi or how to connect z wave
Fucking crazy isn’t it?
Good installation video. I would recommend not using the cheap supplied batteries, as many people have complained that they don't hold a charge.
Good advice! Have a great day!

@@sellgooddeals-DIY How is it outdated? Has something changed in the instructions?
Great man!!! Thanks.
You're welcome!
How long are the batteries good for in this lock? Thanks

Why does my lock click without moving the deadbolt (after entering the code or locking

Hi. I even couldn't to set the master code. How I can do it? isn't allowing me. Do I have to factory reset?
Yes, give that a try. Out of the box it should be reset but maybe they didn’t on yours.

Great video! Do you need a network adapter for this to work, or will it work without it/ or just with code
Unless you have a module that is connected to a controller its code only.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY if you have a module, can you use an iPhone/android app to create new codes with expiration dates, etc?
do you have to put in the code to lock the door also?
You put your hand over the screen to lock it.
@@sellgooddeals-DIY it doesn’t do automatic locking after a certain period of time or something?
I installed the lock today and it keeps saying check door handing. Any help?
