    Been loving Bluttat’s Cash, invoice or credit card record lately, good weird German punk and love her voice. Thanks for the recommendations, always solid and stoaked to check some of these out! Love Sado Nation too

    Dennis. I just came across your blog, and love it. Though this is an 80s list. I urge you to check out New York's Dahlia Seed. They existed in the nineties and released a number of singles and albums. Deeply emotional stuff with lyrics dealing with real life tragedy. The best band I recall seeing live.I often note how their music made the hairs on my arm stand on end.

      It was not an intentional 80’s list. There was some 90’s stuff in there.
      I know of the band but need to check them out.
      Thanks for discovering the channel.

      They are pretty great.
      Saw them live in a basement in Umeå many years ago.

    Dolly Mixture is the best! I put on a show for Rachel from the band recently, she was lovely and played quite a few DM songs. I have an original Demonstration Tapes which i found in a charity shop a few years ago!

      Amazing. They are truly phenomenal and that original is on my list.

    Dude... the way you just throw out names of tons of bands I've never heard about in your channel deserves a huge THANK YOU.
    I missed Crass in this list since they had female singers and artists in the collective as early as 1977, but you named their label, so, all good. Everyone knows them anyway.

      I try to come up with some unexpected names and my nerdiness goes deep.

    Great episode - would recommend östro 430 from Germany(from the 80s but recently reformed) or X mal Deutschland

      X Mal is one of my faves. Amazing band.

    Love this list. I’m loving this wave of punk and hardcore with fem leads and reminding us women were always part of the scene. I feel silly suggesting you check out a band because you probably already know them but check out Press Club out of Australia and their album Wasted Energy. Favorite vocalist in the genre right now. They give me Hüsker Dü vibes and I just think they are great.

    Cool list as always. Some stuff I already know, but some is new to me and I'll definitely have to check it out. I actually just discovered Gorilla Angreb a couple of weeks ago, so it's great timing.
    I know you've often been outspoken about feminist issues, and I remember in particular there's a good video of you on stage at some festival with Refused, and just calling the festival out for booking way too few women, and I do always appreciate hearing it, regardless if it's from a "middle aged white man' or not. It's important for non-marginalised groups to support the marginalised ones.
    I also really got into riot grrrl stuff for a while, so it's good to see Team Dresch here, as well as the other bands you mentioned. There's also a fantastic riot grrrl band from Brazil called Dominatrix which put out a couple of amazing albums in the 90s, though they're not really active anymore sadly. One of the members did go on to form another feminist queer hardcore band called Anti-Corpos though, which is really fucking good too.

    • @Dennisdeepcuts
      @Dennisdeepcuts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cool. I know of anti corpos but I need to check out that other band.
      And thanks for the kind words.

    Hey Dennis! Can you do an episode on the band Regulations? They’re my favourite and there’s not much info on them on the internet. I know you supported them and produced an album so you must have some interesting facts on em. Love your channel!!

    • @Dennisdeepcuts
      @Dennisdeepcuts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know everything.
      They were/are really good friends and I started my label Ny Våg just to release their albums.
      They were one of the my favorite bands.
      Maybe I’ll do an episode on my label.

    Hello! The Fatal Microbes with Honey Bane (and her strange career) and their connection with Rubella Ballet and Poison Girls are also a quite decent band ( but perhaps not feminist or obscure enough).
    Fun watching your episodes.

    I don't like use terms like "female fronted". At least here half the punk bands have female members on the band. I see band as whole, so it doesn't matter if members are men or women. In hardcore scene here 80s were only very few female singers in bands like Saku in Pyhäkoulu. But now starting from circa 2005 started many bands like Creepy Crawlie that opened scene for women. Now the best bands in scene all have female members like Kohti Tuhoa and Kovaa rasvaa. And luckily in the gigs there could be 50/50 crowd men/women. Great video as usual.

    • @Dennisdeepcuts
      @Dennisdeepcuts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know, it’s a weird term and I don’t really like it either but… just wanted to put the focus on women.

    Great addition to your punk conversations.
    DS-13 has been on my mind as well.
    Strange how it went from a blood bath in the pit to my work out playlist

      Do-13 are some of my best buddies and they are playing in Umeå in a couple of weeks. Going to be wild.

      Special times. I’ve never checked out the scene there. After 369, Bumpers and CBGB it’s so tempting to explore Umea.

    Props for mentioning Team Dresch - easily one of my long-time favourites after hearing some of Personal Best on John Peel *many* years ago. Managed to see them live in '96 in Glasgow on a bill with Bikini Kill, Bis, and Lung Leg - dynamite action to be sure, and how can you go wrong when you have a band member called Kaia Kangaroo? Albums were re-issued a couple of years ago along with a great compilation of singles and hard-to-find tracks found on other releases. Hugely important band to myself and a lot of people at the time.

    • @Dennisdeepcuts

      That’s a solid line up.
      And yeah, great band.

    Feels like Romeo Void should have been on this, but stoked to see Spitboy and KUKL. I still think of pop music in terms of pre- and post-Bjork.

    Hi Dennis, thanks, again very interesting! Do you know Ideal from Berlin. They‘ve released their debut in 1980 and it‘s still great after all these years!
