How to Clean Candle Jars Fast: The Easy Way

  • Hello Everyone,
Today’s video is one that was helpful for me, because I needed to clear all the old wax from a burnt candle out of a jar so I could use the jar. I used to struggle with this, but have perfected my method over the years. No the whole process takes only a few minutes and no scraping or scrubbing, or gumming up the sinks, towels, etc. I wanted to share this with you. Hopefully you'll find it helpful.
Basically you will need to get a pot that is deep enough to cover the candle jar up to the point where the top of the wax touches the side. Put your candle in the pot and fill with hot water.
Don’t put the candle in cold water and heat the whole thing, this will end up melting most, if not all, of the wax and you’ll have a hot mess (pun intended) on your hands.
After a few seconds you’ll notice the outer most wax is melting. When you can freely spin the candle around the inside of the jar it’s ready to be removed. In a holder where the lip of the jar / holder is the same or larger than the base, you should be able to just tip the candle out. In a jar where the lip is a bit smaller as with the one in this video, stabbing a fork into the softened wax and pulling it out works well.
After a quick wipe down with a paper towel and cleaning, the jar is shiny and ready to use again.
    Hope this trick is helpful.
    See you soon,
If you’re looking for some new candles here's a cool carved one to mix it up a bit:

its easier to pour boiling water into the candle , the wax will rise to the top and when it cools enough to touch, just scoop out the top layer of wax.

91% alcohol to wipe out the soot before you light your candles - works great .

91% alcohol is flammable...seems dangerous. I pour 91% on my campfire to start.

Oh gees - just after your video played one came up on reusing old wax. Dumb me. Just trying to keep reducing my carbon footprint. If we all do - we might leave a better world for the future tenants. I subscribed - thanks for your videos! Will watch all over time.

Does this work for ceramic candle jars?

    • @StarsetMoonfire
      @StarsetMoonfire  4 ปีที่แล้ว

In my experience it totally does! I guess if it's a super super thick ceramic it may not, but I've never had an issue. :)

A bit of heat can help usually. Often times its a type of wax holding it down. If it is an adhesive, applying the heat then gripping it with pliers or a multipurpose tool and twisting will often pop it out easily. Hope that helps!

Or she could have let it stay longer

  • @pastadoll

Like your idea but for your own safety use a kitchen glove since it is glass and it stays hot longer. Thank you for a quick solution.
