  • It's August 1994 and i'm in Scotland, at Glasgow Central. It's the summer of 1994 and the RMT signalling staff were on strike during this period. Some services were running during the day and we see local Scotrail services running but no main line Inter-City trains. We see the veteran class 101 Met-Cam DMU's and Class 303 Blue Train EMU's alongside the newer class 318's and Class 156 Super-Sprinter DMU's. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!

Great Memories thanks. My Gran and Grandpa lived in those high rise flats you can see behind the stabling point. All gone now.

Great vid Living near Manchester we has a good number of 101 cast offs that stayed in service till the end of 2003. I was on the last 101 mainline journey from Rose Hill Marple to Manchester Piccadilly. We also have a few 303’s come south as well though I only went on one once.

I used to work the DMUs&156s from Edinburgh to Central. I always liked Strathclyde's orange livery.

Good stuff 👍👍👍 a local(ish) one i can relate to. The Strathclyde transport orange brings back memories. Better than the maroon and cream that followed. The current spotrail livery isn't bad though...

The video doesn't capture the very unique air compressor sound of the class 303 which was very loud and used to bounce around the walls of the Cathcart circle stations which are often in cuttings

318s have changed since, currently with Scotrail but the cab gangway has been removed for better driver view it seems. Doesn't look right in my eyes

i think it looks better without the gangway. maybe its because im not used to seeing the gangways

ScotRail should replace the Class 318 and Class 320 but to keep the Class 334 and Class 380. And probably would of ordered more Class 380s and Class 385s.

That colour scheme is absolutely atrocious.
