British Rail Scotrail 1995-Dunblane & Larbert with Classes 26, 37, 150, 156 & 158+Semaphore Signals

It's March 1995 and i'm in Scotland. On this upload we see Sprinter DMU classes 150, 156 & 158 at work at Dunblane and Larbet. Locomotive wise, at Dunblane we see a class 37 on a freight train working while at Larbert a class 37 heads south with an engineers working, including two withdrawn classes 26's dead in train. These were the last class 26's i saw on the main line, the class having been withdrawn in October 1993. Both locations still had signal boxes and semaphore signalling, which we see at work on this upload. The wooden footbridge from Dunblane is now at the Caledonian Railway at Bridge of Dun. The old line to Callender branching off to the left at 6:16

This brings back a lot of memories from going to Dunblane to visit family. Even remember getting to and from there on Class 101s and even the occasional Class 47 hauled rake and being deafened by the Highland Chieftain HST charging through

Dunblane has changed quite a bit including the electrification from Stirling and the Class 385.

Don't i know it!... I was filming at Shrewsbury recently, they still have semaphores, and had to wait a while for some to drop!

The beginning of the end ! Kartism (the infection of DMUs on former loco hauled routes, that spread everywhere in Britain, Europe and even North America. I remember these routes with baby Sulzer McRats 26s and 27s, and I remember calling the Sprinter invasion of Sconnie Botland, ABS Another Bl**dy Sprinter.
