    An interesting format. Nice and clear. I'm used to being able to look out the side windows though. Ex freight conductor for Canadian Pacific RR. My great grandfather was a clock maker and had a shop in Dalkeith. The building is still there.

    The gentleman knows the line so well that he knows when to speed the video up and slow it down., in order to comment about the important features.
    So, he can fit the whole line into a fairly short space of time.

    Great video, but you can see the train arrival at Edinburgh was either shot on different days or at different times or both as at 09:40 the train is seen arriving via platform 19, yet at 09:48 the cab video shows the train arriving via platform 20 and then crossing to platform 2..

    Surely missed a chance to mention the South Edinburgh line that used to act as a commuter route. The west junction is just after Slateford and is served by 1 xc train each weekday doing g GLC-EDB

    Enjoyed the video and the scenic views. I'm surprised the route taken is still used. It would be a lot more sensible to take avoid Motherwell and head over vua Bellshill, Shotts and Livingston, especially since that line was recently electrified.

    WOW! These LNER trains accelerate like formula 1 cars! (It's a joke. Don't comment!) I too would have liked more normal speed bits. The aerial views are very good.

    I lived in Kirknewton once and it was nice to see the trains and level crossing,sadly though too many stories of silly people who crossing the line when the train wasnt far away....

      Thankfully, you can't do that as easily now. There are full length barriers that come down well in advance of oncoming trains, and plenty of CCTV. cameras.

But as I do not edit videos for a living I may be out of my depth but surely full length, cab view with captions should be cheaper than all the drone footage. But as always the social media team win over the engineers and the like in these type of videos.

    Music much too loud in comparison to voice. Also why the rush? The video could have been slower. At 20 minutes long viewers might have had time to see the things that are mentioned.
