There’s just a lot of shit out there. This game goes back to the roots of gameplay vs. AAA graphics. And obviously gameplay wins out every time. That's why I find myself going back to old pre 2000s games like Mech Commander.
I bought the game too. I stayed up until midnight playing even though I wake up at 4:30am for work. Love finding games that are so fun I can be a degen like when I was in high school.

This is the result of devs who understand videogames. It's fun game design 101, it's cohesive, elegant. I'll keep saying, the future of videogames is indie games. For anyone who sees this and likes Halls of Torment, there's another game much in the same vein done by a solo developer called Spellbook Demonslayers. Very fun game, just started getting more updates recently, I definitely recommend it. The graphics are different than this old school and the music unfortunately gets old quickly but it's a solid game with the same mobbing, tons of abilities, more starting characters, and tons of upgrades and difficulty modifiers.
Watching this got me looking up vampire survivor like games and I found a few cool ones, and theyre all less than 10 bucks so thats always nice. soulstone survivors has been fun.
1 - You have to switch to auto attack in the options. It's much faster to kill and switch targets without wasting time aiming. The nearest target is targeted first. 2 - Run straight to the first scroll. Only kill the enemies in front of you on your way. 3 - Always choose in order, if possible, attack speed, damage, critical chance, critical +20%, attack distance, attack cone, enemy piercing. Do not take more than 2 magics and master them. 4 - Kill the first boss and return to the pit as quickly as possible without wasting time. When your life is threatened, save your new items. 5 - Stay there and kill as many monsters as possible for the duration of the enemy wave. Pick up XP between 2 waves around you.
