Very impressive tutorial. This and the full song before the jump. With so many bad videos and tabs out there it's nice to see somebody put in the time to get it right. I teach guitar and I'm blown away with the level of instruction in these videos. The count-off, the chord symbols synced perfectly with the music, it's a great package you should be proud of. And yeah, that Eb Lydian (#11) chord is a fun one. The whole song is riddled with chromatic mediant relationships (very sci-fi) and I think the Lydian mode is just another fun, ethereal-sounding tool Brian May decided to use in the bridge. Kudos again and thanks!
I mean let me put it this way, I started with the main video for a short time Wednesday, and on Thursday I gave it a few more run throughs, along with this breakdown, and I basically have it. That says a lot about your teaching method. Listen up instructors, don't clog your guitar instruction videos with a bunch of unhelpful talk-GET ON WITH THE LESSON. (privetttricker/james james gets it right too). And this lesson is in no way "dumbed down" or simplified, this is the real deal. Can't wait learn more from your videos, and yes, when my band has this nailed down, I'll post a video.

How to play chords with the shaded closed strings like is on the movie?
The shaded notes mean leave your fingers on the strings, but don't strum those notes.
Can I ask what the strumming pattern is on this song? I'm kinda lost... Thankssss
