Dík za odpověď. Slyšel sem v Praze na výstavě tuším Scala Evo a podle mě nejlepší zvuk výstavy. Jaké byli použity repro? A třeba jak se zvuk blíží originálu porovnání v %? Jinak špičková práce.
Why copy such a famous enclosure? scam or a client ask for it? with that work quality you could easily make your own designs...or maybe you want a par so bad but simply could afford it. Id like to know, just curious.
Old ass cnc? Its horizontal borring machine from 2006, reworked at 2014. This big machnes is limited on rev....cca 3000rpm and 5000mm/min feedrate. Surface is not rough....only for eye. Roughness cca 0.2mm, easy for hand sanding.

I'm building a set of Focal towers for the home. I have a pair of Focal 33KX Woofers, a pair of 165K2P Mid's and Peerless Silk Tweeters. The boxes are made from 64mm thick MDF wood. There is a recess on the baffle to accept a mm sheet of open cell foam with an Anechoic pattern (star pattern) around the tweeter. Pine/Hardwood bonded rib bracing (cabinet resonances are as good as zero with this system. Are can't wait to finish them , they should sound magnificent !!
If I were to do that project, I would swap the dual 6.5” per side for a set of dual 8’s. I ran some 8’s on a build for midrange and midbass, that was super sweetness!!! A lot fuller midrange, with depth of voices, drums, minus kick drum. Would also run all Focal drivers. I would like to come across something of this caliber with the Revelator grade drivers. Would love to get an audition for my ears with those drivers…
Wauw! What a fantastic job! I was looking for inspiration for high-end DIY speakers with some of the best units built in. If you would consider selling me your epic drawings for the CNC machine, I would really consider to make this to. I'm a fan of the Focal Stella Utopia to. But the price tag.... This is an amazing job you've done, and i fully understand if you hold on to this one yourself! Hit me up if you want to make a deal!

Impressive! The CNC was so cool. And the level of perfection of the lacquer job, with all layers and polishing to a mirror finish made it look perfect. The acoustic quality of the construction looks high level. I can imagine the original Focal machine technical drawings was at hend ? It was obvious that you put down many hours of work with this project. I envy you the possibility to use the CNC, your workshop, and the finished speakers.👍
I recently made a copy of the Fokal Utopia. At the request of the customer, a crossover and an amplifier are installed in the lower box, through the partition. I do not write for arguments, but just tell you what happens and so.

Wow. Excellent😮. I,ve heard the grande utopia in France and sounded wonderful. Very expensive in France too. I know you can find woofer drivers from focal (car drivers are good too) but I doubt you can buy a beryllium tweeter from focal 😢... I know you are now a happy man !

I don't understand ... you have the talent and the means to make a good speaker. Instead, you decided to make a relatively faithful copy that would never sound like the original. Why this exercise? Make your own design because you are obviously capable of it and try to develop a business around it. This is a waste of time although a very interesting waste of time. Now, to business; can you make me a pair of Utopia Grande?
Some people just like to build and create.... Just like the brainiacs behind products for big companies.. they don't want the headache and the responsibility..

That old ass cnc is very slow but an interesting relic. The surface finish of the parts off the machine is rough so I bet you spent some time sanding.

@@kako4967 I thought it was much older, perhaps 80's vintage. Still 5m/min is slow. I see why you choose a rougher surface finish to speed things up.

Focal dont sell speakers many years....except car speakers. But there is a lot of great speakers on market.
