The beauty of Switzerland comes from not just the nature, but also all the man-made stuff being beautiful, clean and orderly as well. There's a lot of places in the world where the nature is beautiful, but pretty much everything touched by man made it worse, but not in Switzerland. It's this combination of a highly developed, rich society that's also very traditional and sort of old-fashioned, perfectly mixed with perfect nature around it.
that sucks about the hostel. As a nomad traveler, now in my 40s, it's about the experience of being around other travelers, regardless of age. If they wanted to not have the families there, then just say its 18 and up. Thanks for the videos on Switzerland. Having lived in both Alaska and Colorado there's tremendous beauty all around me, when I lived there... but WOW! Seeing you go through the heart of the country has put Switzerland on the list for me. Enjoy the journeys my friend! Take care.
Visited last month on a holiday with family and we went around Lucerne, Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lautterbrunnen, Titlis, Trubsee, Jungfrau and finally ending with Zurich. We had the best time of our lives so far and we enjoyed every moment being there. Swiss takes your breath away and makes you want to stay there forever. Its definitely expensive but depending on what you value, its worth the money. I cannot wait to go there again soon!
Paddy you're doing a Dandy job of living this trip for us the Viewers, but better yet you should go into Lodgings and just live there (Lauterbrunnen) for a month ; imagine becoming a local and all the fascinating things, trails and landmarks you'd find out about ; trust me we would watch it ! Great Show ! 😺😺😺
I stayed in the Grimmelwald Mountain Hostel 34 years ago, in Sept. of 1990. This video brings back great memories of a wonderful journey through such as beautiful place! Thanks Paddy. 🙏🏼
Hi Paddy💛you look happy ! another gorgeous and overwhelming view - your joice of most splendid places to visite in Switzerland shows your good sense of what is next level and best ! I enjoy every time to see you sweating and puffing when going up and down steep pathes🤩Lol ! Thanks for sharing another fascinating exploring in CH - my home country 🤗❤👍🙏
I feel like the last episode of this series the camera will pan back to reveal Paddy in his hiking gear in front of a green screen in his bedroom in Changmai. Because honestly it looks unworldly, like CGI it's so postcard perfect beautiful. That air looks cleaner than a Mormon joke book.
Lovely Alps 🏔⛰ I wish I was hiking there too ☀I'm from Slovenia, living in Stockholm. Going to school was seeing Sunrise on Alps, we played as kids in the mountains a lot and growing up there, learning about the old ways of life, producing everything from scratch, from animals and land. Beautiful times 🍃🏔 Now I see dirty swedish subway every day, dreamming of life off grid. It's a plan 🐝🍃
You will get there. It all starts with the dream! I found Slovenia to be a lovely place in my travels, and the people to be kind and gracious. And if you ever happen to be in Lauterbrunnen hike all the way UP to Kleine Scheidegg then you will have commanding views of the valley and Jungfrau as well as high meadows. You may then hike back down or take a train, it is possible to do in a day. Ciao!
I could barely believe he beauty of that view from the church! It was surreal and reminded me of the romantic paintings of nature that were popular in the 1920's and 30's. More fairy land than earthly. Magnificent Paddy. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Be well. I have to tell you I am very impressed with your state of physical fitness! Nicely done old boy.
Lauterbrunnen is amazing! I mean the whole Switzerland. I fell in love with the country. We were there last year. It’s the greenest & cleanest country I’ve ever seen.😍
I'm 54 years old and I've never heard of a man flu. Must be something younger folks came up with. So, yeah, you're still young. Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing!
I was here in September with my adult daughter. I wish you could have been with someone to share this with. It's a wonderful memory we share together now. Loved Switzerland.
Paddy..... Okay, 1. An age limit I can understand BUT also age is such a funny thing... I know 23 year olds that act like "old" people. 😆 Sitting around talking about credit scores and 401Ks... haha. 2. Isn't it amazing what a day's difference in weather brings. That looked like absolute perfection. 3. I am so glad that you mentioned taking a moment (or 10!) to stop and take things in and enjoy the moment. I know not everyone understands that but I have had experiences where I sat and just took everything in and an hour went by and I didn't want to leave! My mind and body battled over it, for real. 4. The first time I see this, I will cry. I need to remember to pack LOTS of tissues. 😭 The beauty will simply be overwhelming... Eeeek! I am SO excited!!!
What an opening to the video. Wow!!! I am totally speechless, the views are on a different level. That trip you are planning for in 2024 looks more and more interesting.
I just got back from my swiss solo trip and followed your trail to this point in wengen and like you say “um I can’t believe my eyes” and literally I was gobsmacked standing at that exact spot - in awe! Thanks to you Paddy, I went solo to Switzerland all the way from Australia! It’s such a dream this place 🎉
I know it's long gone now, but 1,5 km past this food vending machine, you missed one of Switzerland most amazing wonders: the Trümmelbachfälle, which is a fantastic waterfall inside the mountain. Maybe next year!🙂
You should have told the hostel with the 35 year old age limit that not only are you a backpacker but you walk twice as much as other backpackers as you need to keep setting up your camera to walk by, then walk all the way back again, haha. So you are more youthful than all those 18 year olds. Your photography is amazing. I've enjoyed you for ages and loved the simply videos in Thailand from the old days, but this new version of your channel is great as well. Thanks for all your hard work to make such graceful and flowing videos. Never a hitch.
Paddy my friend, youve outdone yourself! Stupefied and speechless with the Alps🌟your skills of cinematography deserve big screen tvs! Im grateful to have mine! 🙏🏻❤️
Lauterbrunnen is such a lovely valley. It's one of the most picturesque places in the world. I especially love Staubbach Falls, one of the most amazing waterfalls in the world.
Another Awesome Adventure Paddy Doyle the Scenery is Amazingly Beautiful. Looking forward to your next weekly Adventure watching from New Brunswick Canada.🙂
Paddy! We were there at those very same places just about 3 weeks ago! We were blessed to spend 2 weeks in the beautiful and incredible Switzerland! Truly, one of our bucket lists came true. Currently watching your Thailand videos as that's our next destination! Love love your videos! Keep doing you 😊
I love that in the intro you show your reaction seeing the mountain. It truly shows and emphasizes that it’s the journey that matters, not the destination.
Was there last September (stayed a couple of days in Murren) and happened to go down to Lauterbrunnen the day of the Jungfrau Marathon. The over 3,000 runners started in Interlaken, ran uphill to and through Lauterbrunnen where we cheered them on and then went UP that path you walked down, Paddy. My hat’s off to anyone who can walk up that trail. The runners then continued through Wengen and up to the Eigergletscher station. Winning male time-3 hours, 49 seconds. Winning female time-3 hours, 22 minutes. So glad you got to stay in Gimmelwald a couple of nights. It’s such a peaceful place.
Unbelievable series paddy, watched all your Thailand antics now moving on the other destinations. Really didn't think anything would compare to your Thai videos however this series has been stunning your a real talent behind and in front of the camera. Keep up the great work ❤🙏🏻🤙🏻😎
Was there about 10 years ago ... one of the most picturesque spots on the planet. We got woken up one morning with cow bells ... they were herding the cows down the street. We lucked out as well with perfect weather the day we traveled to the top of Jungfrau.
Hiya Paddy. Next level intro. As always. Spectacular views. Cute little fur baby. The hostel did not want families to stay. You're definitely not old. You always make me smile, mate. Amazing footage. Your trip next year sounds like it will be amazing. You walk towards the waterfall. The views. Wow. Spectacular drone footage. The prices are shocking. But great you had soup to help get rid of that man flu. Great to be able to grab some cheese en route. The thought of you coming down on a parachute/glider makes my legs wobble. Lovely views from the beer garden. Love your videos. Happy Friday and Weekend, Paddy.
Just fabulous! Now this place is on my to do list also! Hope your better now! Thanks Paddy ….haha37! I wish! Just turned 60… but lots more travelling planned..thanks for the inspiring series!
What a gorgeous video, only you know how much time and effort you put into this editing but you can see the effort in each scene. I just love this video, Switzerland is truly a hikers paradise! 👏
I used to live in Bern and I went down to Lauterbrunnen many weekends because it was just 45 mins by car. Used to stay for the weekend at Camping Jungfrau at the end of the village where they had little wooden 2-4 person Chalets for rent. Amazing place indeed, and somewhere you just never get tired of visiting. I've been loads of times yet the beauty never fails to stun me.Same with Grindelwald.
I just came back from a hiking trip in Switzerland with my family. My 14 year old son totally love the hike. I am already missing the beautiful landscape. I got loads of pictures and videos. Will be planning for a hike again next year in autum with my buddy. Love your series. Keep up the great work ❤
This is my dream destination⛰️⛰️.....I mean Literally.....I will be here very soon with my Childhood Love...With whome I am married now....Bless you for giving us such a beautiful tour of the place....🙏
So enjoying these videos👍 I have been fortunate to have visited this valley or the Grindelwald valley 4-5 times and i never tire of it,just a stunning area. Will be revisiting next year without a doubt. Mate im so happy for you to try something new . The grind of SE asia has got old . I really appreciate watching this ! We get older and evolve its great to see
Very lucky that you had the best weather! I wanted to go there on october but I had no luck with the un-stoppable rain at that season so I had to cancel my visit to Lauterbrunnen.
Paddy you are a cinematographer with few equals. I never watch a video twice, except for yours. I would love to join your tour but I’m more than twice your age, I’m a single parent with a couple of teens and I’m broke. Guess that’s why I enjoy your vlogs so much 😅
I Caint believe my eyes and I’m watching on a huge Tv but being there must have been amazing. Patty...I loved the hike you did from Jungfrau to that small cabin. My family and I are heading there in July....did the cabin have a name, or could you give directions to the cabin?

You can stay in campingjaungfru site which very near to Staubach falls and it doesn't have age limit. It has dormitory.
which month did you do this trek

Absolutely true. I belong to town nearby mountains too. And i can say that's right. It depends on us that how we maintain it.
💯💯💯
Many countries could learn a good deal from this.
There’s a lot of rich ppl there, which helps.

Thanks! 😃
Nice. Amazing. Thanks for sharing. I am also hier. God is good.
Beautiful vlog in Switzerland I ever seen
Poor "OLD" Paddy (= Beautiful, breathtaking amazing views.....just brilliant!
Exactly how much more Swiss can you make it in one shot?
Yes

Thanks for sharing. I’m staying in Grindelwald next month and we will definitely hike from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen.
Great trip videos. I just returned from hiking above Lauterbrunnen Valley today. Looking forward to next episodes.
I am watching your Switzerland series around Christmas. It's a good time to watch it. It's giving the Sound of Music Christmas vibes. 🎄🎄🏔
I am proud to say I have sat on that bench at 1:29. It's in front of a church. You could just sit there for hours admiring the view.
Hiya Paddy. Next level intro. As always. Spectacular views. Cute little fur baby.

Beautiful Paddy xo be safe
Love your videography. Looking forward to more! Was in this area 25 years ago...but was too short. Your video has inspired a return trip.
That was spectacular Old Fart. I have seen so many videos of Lauterbrunnen. It's definitely on my bucket list.

You and Karl would be a dream team. Would love to see you two run a TV travel series. Must be on the cards surely 😃

Very lucky that you had the best weather! I wanted to go there on october but I had no luck with the un-stoppable rain at that season so I had to cancel my visit to Lauterbrunnen.
Love love
Paddy you are a cinematographer with few equals. I never watch a video twice, except for yours. I would love to join your tour but I’m more than twice your age, I’m a single parent with a couple of teens and I’m broke.
Guess that’s why I enjoy your vlogs so much 😅
The quality looks so good in 4K it almost looks fake, keep up the good work!
I Caint believe my eyes and I’m watching on a huge Tv but being there must have been amazing. Yes it was! Can’t really beat this valley to be fair
Я был в Лаутербруннен в 2010-м.
Поднимались до Schilthorn , очень красиво!
Снимали комнату за 70€ у бабушки.
Breathaking. I sub as soon I've seen your intro vid. This is one of the majestic video I've seen of Switzerland.
Welcome aboard!
Amazing view. I am planning to come here, but the cost is very expensive. 😊😊✌️From Malaysia..
The valley actually looks like Yosemite valley. ❤Thank you for sharing ur hiking journey. We're inspired to do this next year.
Hey Paddy-cake! We ate at that same restaurant in Lauterbrunnen where you had the sad soup.. even better.. we sat at THAT table! (We ordered the burgers)
it's beautiful to follow you through my Homecountry. I am born in Zurich and I was a subscriber already, when you where with Ryan and Damo in Thailand. much LoVe from Greece
Are you really going to welcome travelers with you next summer? Sounds inviting. Looks amazing.
Yes I am ❤️
Que lugar maravilhoso!
Fantastic!. I am originally from Switzerland however my family left when I was young. Can't afford to move back as it is very expensive. Sadly my parents didn't keep their house in the Alps. Staying at a non-age-restricted hostel makes staying in Switzerland for more than just a few days a viable option.
Love your videos 👍
Stunning views! Another great video. Sorry you were ‘cancelled’ from the Hostel! 😂
Wow❤
Wow What Else is there to say😊
Was there on the 12th of June this year. Never seen anything like it before, stunning. You have to try the helicopter ride form Lauterbrunnen.
beautiful
Guessing that was Club Schutzenbach. Topdeck and Contiki use it alot. I used it lots when I was in the age range.
My dream country to travel im planning next year who want join with me to travel this beautiful country ❤
We used to go here on weekends from Zurich. For a hiking and eat outside in fresh air.. you captured the landscape very well! I admit we Swiss have some strange rules but as you say it’s make a sense… sorry that you couldn’t stay in that hostel. Did you considered visit Appenzell?
