I have two Gold Glories. I would call the neck a 56. The binding thing is no big deal. The Blues Power looks great. The Gold Glory is a good value. I agree that the "upgrades" are not woth the money. That said, I put locking Grovers on both of my Golds, so getting closer in price. I can't speak to the pickup. The SD pup on Blues Power has a second coil. I have no issues with the P90 on the golds.
I bought a Gold Glory and the finish was perfect,I was glad about that ,But then this new one came out and I bought the new pick up from Seymore Duncan about a month or so ago, I love it man. Mine has a really Fat neck like your talking but its on this Gold one,I love it. I would like to get that black 55 reissue with two p90s now,lol But I can say this thing Rocks and I love the new pick up. Everything is high right now but for what your getting its pretty good. Playability and tone I will put it up against my Gibsons anyday.. great video bro, keep it up..
I can’t lie, I really want one and I’m not a fan of artist guitars. My wife bought me Gold Glory as a surprise birthday present a couple of years ago, and it became my #2 instantly.
It's such a nice guitar, very comparable to Gold Glory aside from the pickup. I'm the same way about artist guitars usually, but the JJNs are just so unique and stellar to play.
@@Electric.Flamingo I did do some modification to my Gold Glory, so a different pickup would be nice. I wasn’t a fan of the stock P90, so I installed a SD Antiquity mini humbucker with a dog ear adapter plate, as well as gold speed knobs with thumb cutters. Nothing too crazy, but it sounds really good!
nice review dude, keep up the good work. a wortd of advice if I may, get to the point maybe script the content before filming, people this days don´t have much patience.
I have the blue one and I don't see the finishing problems that they mention, it also gives me a good feeling in general, I love how it looks. For my part, I'm very happy and I play it every day.
I jumped when you 1st went from clean to high gain lol… I guess that thing has got some mighty sting! The finish issue on yours should have never left the factory though. Personally, I don’t really care due to my experience wet sanding and buffing. Yet, I’d leave it has is ‘cause I’d play it the heck out of regardless.
I own the black one , I started to down size but it is tempting to own all three . Do you have a favorite ? Gold looks sweet on LP bodies. My black JJN Epi has almost become my favorite guitar + I have a custom made for me affordable tele/esquire with my favorite specs a Seymour raised g + d pick up + maple cap board . Its neat comparing two different one pick up guitars a SD Tele single coil / SD P90 . Really something special about P 90s.
So, I like the feel of Old Glory the best, I think, but man Gold Glory and Bluespower LOOK amazing. They all play about the same, the finish is slightly different on Gold and Blue but, really I don't have a "favorite" out of the three.
@Sean_Plays_Guitar most likely. If anything, a little light sanding it all it would need. Apparently, Gold Glory has the same issue when it was released.
Nice informative review. I think the 'issue' with the binding is just the way they produce these guitars, all the jjn guitars ive seen have it. the pickup sounds nice it doesn't seem to have overtones you expevt with a p90 but then again your loosing the p90 other trademark trait feedback.
Thank you! A lot of people have said they have the same issue with the paint/binding. The type of finish has to be it, but like I said, it's not really all that bad. True about the pickup! I prefer the hum, but the noise canceling has its uses.
I saw JJN Tuesday night! Amazing show!
Now, I want one of these
I'm heading to a clinic tomorrow near Nashville to see him!

Talk about double gold! I've toyed with the idea of picking up another Old Glory, but I dunno, three seems like enough. lol.

I agree about the 55 Reissues, they are on par with these from what I hear! Great guitars all around. Thank you for checking it out! ⚡️🦩
Nice! Looks great! Too bad about the binding. The nerd in me says "the prophecy line has locking tuners as well"🤓😂
Yeah, but it's not all that bad. Evidently, that was a problem with Gold Glory too. Thank you for clarifying. 😂⚡️🦩

I’ve got old glory and love it to bits, it’s actually spotless, no issues at all! Thanks for your video

Thanks for checking it out and noted!

Perhaps it is just am isolated issue then. It does feel fantastic though, the finish!
I got my Gold Glory yesterday ''used'' a year old, absolutely MINT condition with the gigbag and all the stickers for 330 Bucks. God damn what a deal.
That's a SMOKIN' deal. Wow!
Thank you for the nice review
It's what I do, man. ⚡️🦩

It has some bite to it, for sure. I agree with the finish issue, though. I can address things like that myself, but others might not be able to.

That blue is so PRETTY 😍
It really is. It looks a lot better in person, I tried to make it stand out on camera!
Sounds great! I dig that Pelham Blue
Thanks! I do, too and I'm typically not a Pelham blue guy.
The blue 🥶💙
Cold as ice but somehow scorching tones. 🧊🔥
Awesome. I need a P90 in the bridge so bad
They are a mystical pickup, man!
Nice rip did you like lesley west lm gonna practise your riff on my 72 les paul custom which weighs 12 lbs
I don't think I have ever really listened to Lesley West, honestly. Thanks, though!
Could we get a side-by-side sound comparison with the Gold Glory? I'm curious how close the pickup sounds to a real P90
Funny you should mention that. It's already on my list of videos to make, stay tuned! ⚡️🦩
dude.....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely rips, man. ⚡️🦩
@@Electric.Flamingo you think some of that paint ridge you were pointing out will wear down smooth over time?

it's beautiful!
It truly is. It plays wonderfully too!
Hum-cancelling pickups are thrash. It's not upgrade, but downgrade.
So you don't like humbuckers?
The blue 🥶💙
Cold blue, but scorching tone for days. 🧊🔥
