    These guys need professional filter masks, the mould, dust, rat droppings and the slime everywhere. As a commercial cleaner, this is why I don’t do homes. 😢

    • @sisqui1950
      @sisqui1950 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@mrbald8760 I am a commercial cleaner and have worked as a cleaner in many different environments. Large Hospitals, TAFE’s, which are trade based, degreasing floors, stripping and sealing & polishing commercial grade flooring. Vacuuming carpets and also flooded carpets and floors, extracted until the water is clean and use fans to dry quickly, dirty contaminated floors can cause mould and mildew, black mould can cause deaths and can be found in air conditioners that are not cleaned and the grills behind them that harbor these spores. Ceiling fans need dusting and sometimes removal of vents in ceilings that are clogged. Bathrooms especially in hospitals need to be cleaned everyday due to high levels of condensation. This can occur in small birthing units as well when the room does not have time to dry out between patients, extraction fans should be installed and on while the birthing is in progress, shower curtains collect mould and the mould is pink and black in one hospital room where I was a patient. I pulled the curtain right back against the wall so my body was not in contact and the water didn’t reach the curtain. Always clean the sinks, take out the small drain if possible and get a bottle brush that can get down into the pipes, sometimes if at home and the shower gets blocked you can pour down vinegar first then add bi carb of Soda, quickly shove a hose with water and and towel to cover immediately as a reaction will start to happen and this is what should clear the drain plus the pressure of the water together, keep a very firm hold around the hose with the towel over the drain to create a seal from above, you will notice when the drain is unclogged when there is no forceful back pressure and the water runs down freely. You do have the option of removing the U bend under a sink or bath if you have access, remember to wear gloves and safety eyewear when doing this and have a bucket underneath the drain area to catch the build-up, and you can be sure the stench will be the first thing that gets you so we’re a professional mask if you do it this way, with the correct filter. I have also worked with cleaning chemical and Pest control chemicals including Termite work on construction sites (not so common to see women in this profession) and I have also done plastering, and sanding back plaster. I have cleaned in bakeries and many other places so my Workplace Health and Safety is very sound. Most important of all is to check all electrical cords and machines are not damaged and machines are clean and in good working order, all filters should be clean before use and cleaned after you have finished using the machine/appliance. In workplaces the items are tagged and tested yearly and the same should be done with Fire hoses (not cracks, splits, missing nozzles) and the inspection company will stamp date the metal plate to verify it is in compliance same time each year. These are important check list items for daily use and correct PPE should be worn when working. Your employer should instruct you how to operate any new machinery and any that you have not used before. There should be an automatic cut out device on any commercial/industrial equipment to avoid electrical hazards to humans or surrounding areas like carpets or any toxic contact. Do not let cords that are not waterproof and correctly insulated near wet areas and wear thick rubber gloves that are lined inside and insulated footwear like long rubber boots and any other body precautions before going near a site work area. There should be signage to indicate applicable PPE. It is always your safety first before anything else. This includes glass, gas, flammable and bio waste to name a few. Flood waters are very dangerous and can contain many unknowns, so always be aware of your surroundings.
      Rule one: always keep your phone locked away and keep your mouth shut and breath through your nose around toilets. Wash hands even if there is no soap available and dry with paper towel. I always have sanitizer with me at all times and some tissues or paper towel/microfiber cloth.

    Sid needs to start using a Respirator! Along with most of those fellas!
    The disposable masks are useless but provide _some degree_ of protection. Only a close fitting respirator would prevent dried faeces from *everything* that ever existed in those places being inhaled

    The toilet (loo) with the water closet above and chain flush are old fashioned. My great great grandfather had the same in the 1910 house he built (USA). How old are these Council homes???

    I like how the young bloke calls them pigs and makes fun of them “smelling”. It’s so easy to make snap judgments about people you’ve never even met but more than likely, the tenants were seriously mentally unwell and possibly were brought up poorly. Nobody would ever willingly choose to live like that if they were happy, healthy and well adjusted.

    • @cassandraknight8804
