Yeah, I really don't think George Lucas or anyone making the films could grasp just how large a military the Republic would/should have had for the Clone Wars. I mean China has over 2 million active military personnel and it's population is tiny in comparison to that of the city planet of Coruscant.

I read somewhere that apparently the stormstroopers were the “elite” of the imperial army. They were like the US marines or the SS, while the regualar imperial army took care of everything else. The Empire was foolish, an army of clones is much cheaper than the deathstar, and much more effective too. The ones who hold the territory while the clones take the territory.
Not really, the cost of maintaining a clone army bankrupt the galactic republic to the point that they literally had to nationalize the banks just to keep the war machine running, this was also over a 4 year period of war with a fully focused militarized economy. If the Galactic Empire had kept to the line of thinking that you’re presenting then the Rebel Alliance would have had a much easier time fighting off the shackles of Darth Sidious since the Empire would not have anywhere near the weight numbers needed to enforce any kind of rule over the galaxy.
Watching without audio so maybe you mentioned this but they could've produced clones at a lower rate and had the clones be military but still have enlisted troops to act as back up or first responders. Basically clones would be Swat storm troopers would be cops.
I mean, they did. Plenty of the 501st (Vaders troops) is majority clones. The issue with Disney Lucasarts is the constant changing of old canon. There was still clones in use for a lot of operative functions. But I can't keep up with Disney canon anymore. They constantly change Empire stuff.

Not just the Clones, "Rebels" showed that the Imperial Officers deliberately restricted Cadets that were too 'competent' or 'adaptable' from being Stormtroopers as it was feared they might rebel against the chain of command if they were too smart or skilled!
Another key difference was whereas Clones saw eachother as "Brothers" allowing them to work together efficiently, Stormtroopers were trained to view their fellow Troopers and Cadets as rivals and/or subordinates at best and to snitch on any Troopers suspected of treason or espionage against The Empire!

The Stormtrooper Corps could have made for decent military not as great as the Clones but decent enough to make them proud. But the Imperial doctrine goes against what a Good Soldier is all about, and instead they teach negativity due to the Dark Side’s tutoring. Well as a former squad leader then PLT SGT for an Infantry platoon. If the storm troopers were Inferior and not worth a damn, that would fall completely on commander Cody and other clones for their poor lack of leader ship.
Clones were bred and trained for war. The Clones were far superior soldiers (with many having far superior combat experience than troopers). Troopers were humans trained for police actions. Troopers saw the clones as "outdated test tubes". What the Troopers forgot is that the combat experience (that many clones had) could have been passed to the Troopers (let us say like actually being able to hit the broadside of a barn (with a nuclear bomb). The inhibitor chips ruined the clones. The individuality of combat thinking was erased with "NAZI - I follow orders).
If Palpatine was so concerned with cost, why did he not simply give the next generation of bred clones a natural life span, rather than making them age quickly? This would ensure the previous clones would still be alive to train the new generation of clone troopers, however since they had a longer lifespan they'd be able to fight for the Empire for a long time, giving the Empire enough time to gain back their revenue which they spent in the first place.
They wouldn't have been ready for the war if they had to age naturally. You can't really a army from a bunch of 10-year-old kids fighting a galactic war. If they could have had the clones age normally after being biologically 20 it probably would have been best.

I don't understand the argument that clones were much more expensive than stormtroopers. From what I understand, clones were basically slaves, while the empire had to pay a salary to the enlisted stormtroopers. Salaries are really expensive - for a real life example, US department of Defense spends 1/4 of its budget on salary, must have been similar with the empire.
I actually prefer the regiment use of the Storm Troopers over the development of clones but I will admit that the customization of the Clone Troopers was waaay cooler

That is all true about how Clones and Stormtroopers fought, but the Empire had better gear and armor. Clone Phase 2 armor could absorb SOME blaster impact, but not enough to guarantee survival every time, whereas the Imperial armor was more protective. Even if a Stormtrooper was down, they would still be alive, depending on where they've been shot and by wat weapon. As for blasters, the Clone's blasters were meant for destroying droids, but could still do damage to other targets, while the Imperial E-11 blaster was very effective against both droids and organic targets

for most of the empires 501st vader fought to keep clones even when they were kinda old like physically the equvilant of 50 and he had a commando droid squad when the clones got to old and had robotically enhanced clones so they could still fight in old age and also i just wanted to say he treated the clones a lot better than the republic in the comics now the ones we saw with vader in the movies wernt 501st they were normal stormtroopers thats why theyre still imcopitent there.
Well as a former squad leader then PLT SGT for an Infantry platoon. If the storm troopers were Inferior and not worth a damn, that would fall completely on commander Cody and other clones for their poor lack of leader ship.

Clones were bred and trained for war. The Clones were far superior soldiers (with many having far superior combat experience than troopers).
Troopers were humans trained for police actions. Troopers saw the clones as "outdated test tubes". What the Troopers forgot is that the combat experience (that many clones had) could have been passed to the Troopers (let us say like actually being able to hit the broadside of a barn (with a nuclear bomb).
The inhibitor chips ruined the clones. The individuality of combat thinking was erased with "NAZI - I follow orders).

If Palpatine was so concerned with cost, why did he not simply give the next generation of bred clones a natural life span, rather than making them age quickly? This would ensure the previous clones would still be alive to train the new generation of clone troopers, however since they had a longer lifespan they'd be able to fight for the Empire for a long time, giving the Empire enough time to gain back their revenue which they spent in the first place.
They wouldn't have been ready for the war if they had to age naturally. You can't really a army from a bunch of 10-year-old kids fighting a galactic war. If they could have had the clones age normally after being biologically 20 it probably would have been best.

@@darthkenobi6726 Palpatine needed to move quickly to ensure that his empire. The more time he waits the harder it will be to consolidate his power and the more time the Jedi might suspect him. The Republic needed an army right away to fight the separatists as well.

I don't understand the argument that clones were much more expensive than stormtroopers. From what I understand, clones were basically slaves, while the empire had to pay a salary to the enlisted stormtroopers. Salaries are really expensive - for a real life example, US department of Defense spends 1/4 of its budget on salary, must have been similar with the empire.

Clones are better then stormtroopers. They been trained by mando's. Better gear and weapons. And they are loyal to the end(And I'm referring to the jedi,not order 66). We know how stormtroopers aim,but there has to be a few stormies that trained better. I know there was a sergeant stationed on the 1st death star,trained imperial soldiers in martial arts,probably similar like the mandalorians in a book I read. But above all the majority,clones are better soldiers then stormtroopers
That is all true about how Clones and Stormtroopers fought, but the Empire had better gear and armor. Clone Phase 2 armor could absorb SOME blaster impact, but not enough to guarantee survival every time, whereas the Imperial armor was more protective. Even if a Stormtrooper was down, they would still be alive, depending on where they've been shot and by wat weapon. As for blasters, the Clone's blasters were meant for destroying droids, but could still do damage to other targets, while the Imperial E-11 blaster was very effective against both droids and organic targets
