Woouw - one of my lifelong questions has been answered !!!! Ever since I first watched Predator 2 back in the '90 on my parents black - white analog TV set I was wondering about that flintlock pistol gifted to Harrigan by the Elder Predator......Thanx a lot.
The Godfather Vito Corleone's real name was Vito Andolini. I like to think Rafael was his ancestor somehow and love to imagine a war between the Corleone family VS the Predator in my weird mind.
That was awesome. Love your stories and lore. I love how the in movie he is surrounded my predators and he just calmly says who’s next?? But that’s not how their code works. There is no revenge just honor.
Genuine predator fans don't consider prey real or canon, just imagination, or a dream, so many non lore mistakes in that movie, AND they made it a woke film
I'm hoping it's just a nod, because that 1718 story sounds incredible! My fave historical Pred story comes from DHP #46 (1990)- Old man tells his grandkids about when he encountered one in the swamps of Louisiana while being pursued by crooked cops, around the 40s/50s. I'd love to see an anthology film for Predator, where it's more about the hunt/Yautja/setting, than some crazy grand plot. I imagine a segment that is wordless or in a completely alien language, no subs, all based on body language and sounds, taking place on a different world with all different creatures.
I want a comic/book or miniseries where a predator crashes to earth for a hunt but he’s super early so he wins over a farming town and just helps them out.(plowing fields with his tech, harvesting crops, playing with farm cats) Then a gang or rival aliens come and he fends them off
How about a Predator landing on the outskirts of Sparta during their height? Or perhaps in the jungles of the Mayan empire? Maybe taking on a far outreach legion of Rome? Samurai warriors? Ninja clan? Feudal Chinese Warlord? The possibilities are endless.
Thank you for this! I have always wondered about this exact thing. We need more Predator movies as it is. Just so happens this subject would make for a fantastic film!
Sadly, for it to be a retcon, Disney would first have to acknowledge it as Canon, and that's something Disney has a problem with when it comes to comics and novels.
@@Jormyyy The EU absolutely was...WITH the Blessing of Lucas and Lucasfilm...until George decided to make the Prequel Trilogy. Even then, the only thing retconned was anything prior to Episode IV.
@@digitalis2977 the only reason it was ever "blessed" by Lucas was because it was making him money lmao last time I checked the only EU/ Legends material he genuinely enjoyed or considered canon to the universe was Old Republic era.
@@Jormyyy Not entirely true, as his ultimate decision to do a Prequel Trilogy instead of a Sequel Trilogy (when his original Trilogy Actors we're still fairly young and fairly willing) was based largely off his respect for Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" Trilogy and the minimal damage the Prequels would cause to the EU versus Sequels. There was also next to no Old Republic material for him to like prior to the release of the Prequels...only some Sith Empire material from extreme ancient history. Regardless, his reasons or enjoyment have no bearing on the fact that the EU *WAS* Canon until the sale of LucasFilm to Disney.
I've been toying the idea of reworking Beowulf into an Alien vs Predator story. A bit tricky to make it coherent and honorable but I feel it would be something great. One problem thou, I need to actually get started on it.
"Prey" was a pleasant surprise. The action was well done. The fighting style and heroism of the Comanche let you know how American Indians got the name, Braves.
One day (hopefully) someone will do a Predator movie that will be almost as great as the very first Predator movie and puts in all the Predator clans and makes it good. No main actors and no CG......one day 👍
What's on my mind after watching Prey. There could be a last survivor and a witness to the brutal killings of mutinous crews of Raphael/Rafael Andolini in the Predator 1718 comic. The translator from the Prey was the captain's trusty mate (That's why he has a flint pistol from Raphael Andolini), the last survivor, and the witness in the island of Guinea. The translator lore I believe, before they land in the island of Guinea he saw the sign "Thunderbird" (Yautja spaceship entering the atmosphere), and he think it will be a bad omen for them, because the Captain Raphael Andolini stole a treasure/sacrament from the church. After he saw the horrifying scenes that killed the whole entire crew he brushes to the woods and hides. A year after the Guinea massacre, the translator was now in the group of French Trappers in Northern American plains. He saw again the sign of a Yautja spaceship entering the atmosphere (Thunderbird), he convinced the whole group to lay traps in the area, accidentally they trapped Naru while she was chased by the Predator, after that scene the French trappers cannot believe what they saw on the dead bodies of the Comanche people. Later that night Naru was interrogated that night by French trappers, the translator asked her "What did you see?", "You should be helping us", "I think this creature is a hunter" he proceeds to show to Naru his secret possession, a hunting knife from Greyback. the hunting knife was dropped after Raphael Andolini powerfully swing his sword to Greyback that disabled its cloacking device and cut Greyback's hunting knife buckel/rope. But Naru denies to give information to the french trappers. And so on his brother was captured also and they used them as a bait for the Predator. They think if they capture it, they will be paid a lot. They failed and the translator was badly injured, he give his flint pistol (second flint pistol coming from Raphael Andolini) to Naru for exchange of medicine. In the end credits Naru was visited by the Yautja clan to recover the dead body of one of their clanmates and give their trophy for being a worthy hunter prey. The other spaceships is the story of Predator: Rite of Passage (Masai/East African Warriors) Predator: Blood Feud (Origin of Hanzo)
I truly hope this movie or series will be good. We haven’t had anything good from the Predator saga since the 2nd film. Hell, the fan films have been better than the theatrical ones for the past 20+ years

What I find the most interessting: The Artist did his job excellent, but th Author failed miserabely...as always. Not one moment the author dealt with the concept of the predators. The most prominent proof: The Predator throws his weapon into the grave. Predators were always incredible careful to not let any underdeveloped species get a hold on their weapons and technology. The Alien & Predator IPs were created for intellectual nerds and now it's sold off cheap to children and idiots.

@@AcidAroma yh I have watched it. Someone said if u watch the end credits there's a hint at what's next, but I never watched the credits. What do u think the sequel gonna b ??
@@cobrakaicyberdon well possible spoilers!
But right when the movie ends they start showing the movie again in like that simple Native American drawings.. if you watch that til end when Naru brings back the head of the Predator to her tribe and it shows the movie title PREY aafter that it shows her tribe people look up to the sky and point to the thunderstorm when 3 more Predator ships appear…
Yo I ain't been read a bedtime story ever.. I appreciate you. Great work
They should have more stories like Prey. It was way better than the last 2. I would be happy with more like this.
The prey story are better than the last two of the predator franchise but it would have been smoking good if it was created & featured in the 80's like the first predator movie.
@BMARK I agree.
They wrote themselves into a corner saying this is the first time Predators came to earth in Prey. That's bullshit, I want to see Vikings, Samurais, Pirates, Cowboys, etc.
Edit: They retconned it and said it was THIS Predators first time on Earth, not the Yautja's first time as a species.
@@streetrat48 Yeah weren't they on Earth thousands of years ago at the beginning of Ancient Egypt's rise?
@@johndesalvo7157 yes they were that were when they first started to develop around the ancient egypt era, you see its all what the writer & company wants to put but they could've went further in history with the movie.
Woouw - one of my lifelong questions has been answered !!!! Ever since I first watched Predator 2 back in the '90 on my parents black - white analog TV set I was wondering about that flintlock pistol gifted to Harrigan by the Elder Predator......Thanx a lot.
I absolutely loved this. Thank you.
Thank you. There is no level of cynicism that can possibly meet the new movie, it's creators, or their goals.
The Godfather Vito Corleone's real name was Vito Andolini. I like to think Rafael was his ancestor somehow and love to imagine a war between the Corleone family VS the Predator in my weird mind.
Weird indeed. But now you've mentioned it... me too😅
That was awesome. Love your stories and lore. I love how the in movie he is surrounded my predators and he just calmly says who’s next?? But that’s not how their code works. There is no revenge just honor.
When I first saw the movie, I thought wow that could be a killer side story!
Great video as always!
Playing the elder predator in this movie was Whoopi Goldberg's favorite role, no makeup required!!!
Haha savage 🤣
A Predator movie set in the 17 or 1800’s would be epic!!
Makes no sense hiw or why a French guy would have the pistol in prey
Why not?
@@ActiveSufi because in the comics greyback the elder in predator 2 gets it when a pirate dies
I want a comic/book or miniseries where a predator crashes to earth for a hunt but he’s super early so he wins over a farming town and just helps them out.(plowing fields with his tech, harvesting crops, playing with farm cats) Then a gang or rival aliens come and he fends them off
A mini series would be good they did chucky so why not aliens
Your narration is excellent. Love these videos you make.
What a story that would be to see on film. 👏🏽. Always wanted to know where they pistol came from. And just knew there had to be a story to it
Finally, a YT video worth watching
A movie on this would be GREAT. Pirates ⚔️
I’m actually glad I watched/listened to this.
It was great.
How about a Predator landing on the outskirts of Sparta during their height? Or perhaps in the jungles of the Mayan empire? Maybe taking on a far outreach legion of Rome? Samurai warriors? Ninja clan? Feudal Chinese Warlord? The possibilities are endless.
Alright, that was really cool. Thanks for telling that story, the authors of it put a lot of thought into it. good job.
All that work and amazing storyline was flushed down the drain in prey.
I never was into the comic books so I really appreciate this back story of Rafael adalini
Star Wars legends was never canon to begin with sooooo

Awesome job ! I now have to go watch part II again. One of the greatest lines from the 1st is in PREY. If it breeds we can kill it.
I've been toying the idea of reworking Beowulf into an Alien vs Predator story. A bit tricky to make it coherent and honorable but I feel it would be something great. One problem thou, I need to actually get started on it.
Do it!
"Prey" was a pleasant surprise. The action was well done. The fighting style and heroism of the Comanche let you know how American Indians got the name, Braves.
and they won the World Series last year too!
One day (hopefully) someone will do a Predator movie that will be almost as great as the very first Predator movie and puts in all the Predator clans and makes it good. No main actors and no CG......one day 👍
Every predator movie has had CGI, that would be strange to make one with only practical effects
Hell, the fan films have been better than the theatrical ones for the past 20+ years
This sounds like an amazing storyline to me and the new film Prey was awesome.
Would be an interesting lore tie-in if it were Andolini's pistol in "Prey."
Then they couldn't say it was the first hunt. 👀
Actual it is. And it is the 1st hunt. The gun says Adolphus adolini 1715. He acquired the gun in 1715..and ws still using it in 1719...which makes sense
@@robertreynolds2350 Not according to official lore it isn't. They fucked up the story to cater to the strong woman narrative. They literally killed the patriarchy in that film. They gave Raphael a very dishonorable death compared to the original way he went out according to the lore. This movie sucks and it was forced to be made by Hollywood bastards.
@@robertreynolds2350 It's not the first hunt on Earth. Explain the pyramids in Antarctica in AvP. They're way fucking older than the 1700's, they've been here hunting way before then.
@@robertreynolds2350 I wish people wouldn't put up with this shit and accept it so easily. It's bullshit.
I love that Prey completely destroyed this reference and the comic book connection (even thou the comic isn't "canon")
I've always loved the predator b'cuz of its "honorable" code....so I hope they do tie in the story of the pistol.
What Honor Code? It's not enough that he's bigger, has the best weapons but he has to go invisible to defeat the opposition.
@@MegaBruce247 as long as you dont have a weapon or are not an active combatant....he'll leave you alone.
@@lacygood5873 .. But we're talking about one on one. That young Comanche was whipping the Predator azz until he went invisible.
Thank you much for your Extremely well-narrated thoughts, looking forward to your insight on Prey. Stay frosty!

Awesome review/catch up, great job bud…great job!!!!
Has there been any talk about time travel with the predators? I would assume maybe they have discovered it and can go back and forth in time since each movie doesn’t show older vs newer weapons that the predators have.
I really liked this version! Good job to the creator!
That's the reason why everyone of them has a nuclear self destruction device in the first place. The Alien & Predator IPs were created for intellectual nerds and now it's sold off cheap to children and idiots.
the grave could have been buried and then had a boulder placed over it. no one back then would be able to lift it. let alone today. some undiscovered species like sasquatch bury their dead.
Nice. Love the story telling
