    already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

    Hi, very nice video and very well explain. I wonder : what if the fish get only the adjustable hook? Am i going to miss the hook up because that hook can slide down to the bottom of the leader before penetrate the fish. Thank you to share this great knot.

    This is a great demo. However, when sliding my leader line down in the last step I’m finding my line twisting up big time as it’s pulled through the snell, on both sides. I can untwist it of course but the line seems a bit kinked after and possibly compromised in strength. Maybe I’m cinching down my snell too much? Thoughts? Thanks.

    • @UncleHarley
      @UncleHarley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you're exactly right, it doesn't really need to be that tight just enough to make the knot stay. I haven't actually had that issue though. What pound test are you generally using? I'm using like 50 lb Berkley big game on most of my rigs and am going to get a spool of Andy monster 80lb soon and use it

    • @richs4878
      @richs4878 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UncleHarley Thanks for the reply! I’m using Berkley Trilene 30 and 40lb mono. I tried again and cinched down but not too strongly. This allows the sliding of the hook without the twisting up I mentioned. Once in place I cinch one more time a bit more tightly then cut off the tags. Sliding the hook a small amount for the size of the bait at the point causes no twists. Solved! Again, thanks for the great video demo. We caught a nice 32” halibut with ansliding hook rig tied this way. Video going up today on my daughters channel: Mimi FishFish. Check it out!

I’ve now loaded up my rig wallet with about 10-12 of your double hook sliding rigs, some with treble stingers too. Will be using them this weekend going for halibut and stripers. I’ve struggled to find a solid tying system and snelling knot process until now. Your method stays nice and tightly knotted. Thanks again!

      Sorry I didn't answer sooner. This is just a demo and those are the hooks I had handy . Feel free to use any size you have. I usually use a couple 7 ought Diiachi circle hooks when using big chunks or whole skipjack when targeting big catfish.

    It won't work. Sliding hook will slide, and 'deform' the shape and presentation of bait. Happened to me, I abandoned sliding hooks altogether.

    • @UncleHarley
      @UncleHarley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I need more explanation. Are you trying to heave a huge bait a long distance? I'd so, then yes it will deform. However if you tie your snell tightly and finesse the throw it should maintain. Thanks for watching!
