    This video will teach you how to tie possibly the easiest fishing snell knot for certain situations, the No Knot Snell Knot! This knot can be used any time you need/want to snell your hook quickly and easily, with a strong knot, and this video will show you the tricks to tie it quickly and effectively! We will also go over how learning this knot will teach you how to pre-tie leader lines! This is one of the most widely used fishing knots which is easy/fast to tie and can be used to catch anything from trout, perch, panfish, bluegill, largemouth or smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, muskie, salmon, red snapper, mahi mahi, shark, tuna, snook, grouper, red and black drum, flounder, sheepshead, trigger fish, mackerel... basically anything you catch with a hook can be caught using this knot! Subscribe for more knots and tips, and thanks for watching!
    Quick disclaimer: This is but one of many methods to successfully tie this knot, and it happens to be the best one I have found! I hope it works equally well for you, but if it doesn't, or if you have found something else that works better, I encourage you to stick to what works for you! I would always recommend practicing knots and testing their strength yourself to ensure you are comfortable with how they work, and to avoid flinging lures into the ocean on a failed knot (ask me how I know!). Knots take practice, so make sure you're comfortable with whatever you're tying prior to trusting it with your gear! If you have any questions about the knot, please post them below and I will do my best to answer them. I hope this is helpful, and tight lines!

    Best to lubricate the knot with either saliva or urine before tightening.

    • @JustTheLip
      @JustTheLip  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're 100% correct… at least about the saliva part! Can’t say anything about urine though… 😅

      No urine

      @@G-xi6ibyeah saliva works just fine, plus you avoid getting arrested… 😂

      @@JustTheLip I generally agree ... but inconsistencies in the lubricity of a saliva sample may make coils in the knot tighten down unevenly, which could actually decrease the knot strength. Urine is a much more consistent and preferred lubricant.

      I like to use both for lubricant, just be sure to use saliva first, I won't make that mistake twice

    im not a fisherman....but when i do fish....i only cast the line cos i have zero skills when it comes to 'baiting up'' ........ meaning from the main line to putting the bait ...to securing the bait....zip zero zulch skill.....can u do a full in depth video or multiple videos for topbrung....for any type of fish from surf to deep sea to river to lake fishing....all the types of configurations in terms of international fishing slang.....and not just america...cos we dont use imperial......think of like .....im on a boat doing deep sea fishing...what size hook to catch what fish and what bait to use and what trace type be it swivel or fixed etc...........or lure fishing in deep sea.....lets see what or how many videos in depth doing the hand motions very slowly...remember...i have zero skill............

    I never understood the purpose of snells. With all the options available I'm not sure why you would want the body of the knot on the hookshank where sharp teeth can easily compromise the knot VS keeping it in a safer place above the eye of the hook.

    • @G-xi6ib
      @G-xi6ib หลายเดือนก่อน

      It keeps the shank of the hook straighter with the mainline. Assisting hooksets. Helps the point of the hook be drivin into the fishes mouth. Vs " unhooking" motion that can occur with light tension or just tied to eye. It does help and worth a personal try.

      I do aggree with you though, it puts the knot near teeth. I would say it does have its uses. Depending on your target.

      The Snell knot is used when fishing with circle hooks.
      Watch Matt Watson on TH-cam, he is a legendary New Zealand fisherman who explains how to tie it by using the curve of the line and running it along the back of the hook so that it catches the fish in the corner of its mouth.
      Google " Matt watson , Snell knot."

    Rubbish way of doing a snell. Internally wrapped snells (Line under the wraps) are way better and neater.
