    Love my mamba components! Pretty much everything by way on Diatone has been on point for me. When my roma got delayed at the warehouse because they were making some component changes they sent me an extra motor for the inconvenience. I really appreciate the little customer service things like that.

    Just bought this identical stack for my latest drone build and I have to say it’s even better in real life👌

    I bought a mamba mini stack and I was very impressed with the accessories, packaging and the fact there was a metal shield to reduce RF on/from the ESC. It's worked well for me.
    I'm considerinfg this stack for my next build. The one thing I thinjk it really has over the speedy bee is the VTX switch - similar to real pit if I understand correctly.

    Great review! Do you think it's worth paying almost double to get the this Mamba and others F722 instead of a Speedybee F405 V3? 🤔
    I saw there are 2 versions of this, one with the bmi270 gyro and other with the icm42. Which one yours came with?

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really depends on what you're trying to do or what you're putting this in. They are very similar. I have the ICM42688P gyro in my version. The Mamba does have some premium features and specs like a faster F7 processor, built-in storage(not micro SD-Card), 3amp BECs(instead of 2amp), and 55amp ESC instead of 50amps. Only you can decide if that price increase is justified. I've reviewed both stacks, but only installed the Mamba(I'll be installing the SpeedyBee next week), and it's working well.
      Here is the SpeedyBee F405:

    • @erikvf7
      @erikvf7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@OneManUnmanned I agree. One important thing to note comparing both f405 and f722, f722 is slightly faster but it has half of the internal memory. 1mb for f405 and 512kb for the f722. Today that is not too relevant since betaflight fits on 512kb. But maybe in the future that could have some limitations.

    Help. I have just bought the 03 plus Controller 2. Goggles, controller and air unit, all bound with latest firmware. I am using a MAMBA F722 Mk 4 with a plug designed for the air unit to just plug in. I have it set on MSP UART 3. I have video, OSD etc but the controller does not do anything. Its LEDs flash and when the Air unit connects the flashing goes solid green on the Controller but in the Betaflight Receiver tab nothing works like it does on my old Air units or other Express receivers. What is the trick to get this working?

    • @Inertia888
      @Inertia888 ปีที่แล้ว

      could be a number of things, but the first I would look at is, under the Receiver Page, set [Receiver Mode:Serial(viaUART)], and under that, set [Serial Receiver Provider: SBUS] … I have seen a few times, after flashing, default ends up being CSFR, should be SBUS.

      @@Inertia888 Hi Darrick, Firstly thanks s for the reply, it is appreciated. I managed to get it sorted out and it was the UART?MSPsettings as well as the Goggles setting they all needed some work. At this time I have the 03 working (not happy wioth the 03 due to overheating as per a video I did on my TH-cam channel) the old air units connecting and I added my Analogue system from my Gogles V1 so now have analogue working as well. About to go out and test the Chimera 7 (with the 03) shortly to see if some of the drama has been sorted. We will see. Great flying and thank you.

    • @Inertia888
      @Inertia888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chriscflint Ya, I decided to stick with old AirUnits, and stay with the V2 goggles. I think I'll spend some time with HDZero for now. If DJI shows me something that blows my mind, I might be tempted to come back, but for now, unless, I start getting into high-end optics & auto-gimbls, that will be a maybe for the future.
      >MSP is basically like a USB, for the flight controller. UART is a 'serial connection' ( as is USB) and is made up of four terminals (pos+, data-, neg- , data+) (we usually define them as R1 & T1, R2, T2, etc, but the pos & neg are a part of that connection. < in case you are not sure of what it was, or wanted more details. I noticed the "?" and figured I'd throw in a little info about it. Glad to hear you got it all sorted out. Happy🛸flying!

      @@Inertia888 Thanks again for the reply. Well, yesterday was not a good day in that the 03 worked fine on the 7" Chimera, but I could not get the V2 and original controller to re-bind with my old air units. After much frustration and trying everything I returned to home, re-set up my V1 Goggles and controller with all of my old Air unit drones and am going to leave the 03 with the Controller 2 and the Goggles V2 and Chimera as one operating set. I like you will be sticking to the old air units as they did not have the over heating issue or any other dramas. In my summary, the 03 was rushed out to get it to market to tackle the HD Zero, Walksnail and a few others, but to me the next generation of 03 (if there is one) probably will be OK. I will just be watching.

    • @Inertia888
      @Inertia888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chriscflint 💯 I agree that they rushed the 03 out, and coming generations should be better. The final nail in the coffin, for me, was not being able to use the black fpv remote controller with 03. If they come up with a way to allow for using the fpv remote2 (the black one), I may re-consider my stance.
