As an advanced twirler trying to remember how it was to learn things, I watch your videos and try to learn it "on the other side".

I love this!!! I was a little rusty on fishtails when I started this video & it's nice to go back a break down fundamentals every once in awhile!!!

Your tutorials are invaluable! I haven't twirled in 20 years and now find myself trying to teach it! Not only am I incredibly rusty on everything, I'm having a hard time remembering all the different tricks and how to break them down. With lessons currently suspended, I have been sending your videos to my student. Please continue!

Some how I twirled for 8+ years and no one I ever worked with mentioned marking or utilizing the balance point!! Now that I've been out of competition for 6 years and I'm doing it for fun, I find out how easy fishtails are if you hit that balance point. Thank you!

Thanks for this video. This roll took me a whole lotta practice! It wasn't the 2 hand rolls that were difficult to understand, it was the recovery and connection between them. Day after day (after day) but I got it!!

I never knew this "move" was called "fishtails.' I'm not an expert twirler and never was on a squad in school. They discontinued the program the year I started high school. I was good at doing this motion and could do the basics of twirling. (I was completely self - taught, so, I ouldn't tell you the names of the moves I could do. But, I could do what I called the FIGURE EIGHT - with both hands - and the FRONT TWIRL. I could also pass it behind my back , under my legs, and up in the air. Could never turn around then, though. I was also unable to pass the baton around my neck, good. Could do that only a little. And, I could do the fishtail somewhat as she does in this video.) I was quite disappointed when the program was discontinued because I loved twirling the baton and wanted to learn more about it. That was back in the 80''s, before internet was accessible as it is now. But, I never knew what this move was called before now. TYSM for sharing this video with us. Am still able to do the basics of twirling nowadays at 55 years old !!! 😉

+Adaline Bebo Do you know how to twirl 4 batons? I remember years ago there was a man named Nick Michalares and another man named Robert Olmstead of USTA who pioneered the 4 baton. Unfortunately, they died and I have not seen any video footages on 4 baton.

    • @AdiTwirls

Hi! I do know a couple of 4 baton tricks! I've only ever done them in practice, but my friends Karrissa Wimberley & Jennifer Marcus have serious multiple baton skills, so be sure to check them out!
