Reminder the girlscout troop gets 22% of the cost of the box. Thats like a dollar and a quarter per box. But a large portion of that is used on family dollar quality "prizes", a brand new uniform, badges, and books every year, gas prices for picking up and delivering the cookies, and the fee to stay in scouting. What remains is often so little even for high preforming troops, that going on campouts that arent local is out of the question. If you want to support the girls, just give the troop the money directly, and buy rip off cookies, the quality and quantity has dropped drastically recently and 6 bucks for 8-10 cookies the size of half dollars is absurd.
Honestly Girl Scouts of America always gave me bad vibes with how much they pushed unnecessary journeys and required troops to spend so much on vests and badges. Makes me wonder where that money goes when they have significantly worse camps than the boyscouts…

We almost never went camping, one time the “eating for beauty badge” was suggested to us (that’s a really patch), we spent have our time doing book work because we needed to complete journeys to do our awards, and when we did do the girlscout campout I remember we didn’t even get to do any tent camping and the one year we went to the boyscout camp all the girls were extremely jealous as it was much better and significantly better funded. Guess it depends on troop leader heavily, in my experience Girl Scouts was almost sexist.

I had to sell candy bars for choir. I sold two boxes worth (about $50 per box with 50 candy bars, so $1 per bar). My mom took one to work at the nursing home and I took mine to the playground and made bank. Easiest $100 I ever made, and I sold the most so I got a little plastic trophy.

For the rest of my time at the kiosk, which ended up being another three minutes because the guy in front of me was continuously indecisive, she locked eyes with me and stared into my soul, I can only assume because she wanted me to buy more cookies. This was when she began to speak again, although her mouth didn't move. "You fool," she cried, "you have done nothing to slow the plans of Agaroth the destroyer. Now your mind is forfeit." I was stunned and didn't know what to say. Who is this kid and how does she know of the demon king Agaroth? Before I had more time to ponder on this thought she began to reach into the inner depths of my mind, I could feel her searching. It was as if she reached her arm into my open head and started wrestling with my brain. What was she searching for? Who was she really? Why was she disguised as a girl scout? I may never know these answers. I quickly recited an incantation that one of my priestly friends told me. "Only utter these words in case of an emergency," he would always tell me. Well, this feels like an emergency to me, and the old teachings of my friend Zylkas the good flow through me causing a battle inside of my mind as I physically attempted to force the powers of this child to permanently be expelled from my brain. I could feel the weight of my soul being consumed as she poked deeper and deeper only to be met with the power of my incantation. There was a recoil out of my mind as she was expelled temporarily and I once again felt the good of my soul settle. I may have won this battle, but the war was only beginning. I paid for the cookies and left. The cookies were alright, overall 7/10
