1. It depends on which school you go to and what professors you have (use ratemyprofessor before agreeing to classes to find out what other students have to say about the professor in order to save you the mental anguish of ending up with a professor you dont like.) 2. I go to Tyler Junior College so i dont know if university professors are this nice or not, but mine have been. 3. Yes to me high school teachers are horrible. They stack on lots of homework, always want you quiet, dont allow for food or music use in the hallways or classrooms, expect you to use the bathroom in 1 minute between classes and then still get to their class on time all while only allowing 2 kids in the bathroom at a time, not letting you go in the middle of class, and getting mad if you walk out or talk back to them, etc. 4. With high school, no. The most you will know comimg out of high school is how to test on a standardized test. The testing is way different in college. Its a pencils up, pencils down situation, and then if you do it online, some schools use a proctoring program to watch your screen and watch you through your camera on your computer to make sure you dont cheat. Also, your high school counselor or college advisor should become your best friend. They know everything about all of the stuff you need to get to get to college, how to sign up, what tests to take, ahat documents you need, deadlines and dates, etc. Also, if you go to school in the US there is a test called the TSI in order to be accepted into any college. Make sure to do everything in your power to study well, memorize the answers, and try to get your school to pay for it because its like $60 (at least it was when i took it my junior/senior year of high school 3 years ago.)
1. So long as you're respectful, YES! 2. See #1 3. Sadly, yes. 4. Don't know. The world is constantly changing. Sometimes you luck out and learn things that will be very useful. Sometimes you learn something that ends up obsolete in a few years. The best advice I can give you for the real world is: Respect others. If you don't know, say so, and ask questions. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
For the high school one, it's exaggerated but it's pretty bad. I can't answer for the college yet since I have a week before starting, but I believe you can do this. Try to find people that will help you, do your best, and I believe you can do anything.
Our college professors appear too strict but they're actually too chill. Our department head teacher was too kind. They even told us we can take a leave if we're not mentally well and that the school guidance welcomes those who need guidance if they have no one to talk to. But after those you gotta do a lot of activities and assignments which is understandable co'z you gotta make up your credit.
I got the luck of my current school *actually* preparing others for college. It's an art school so understandably more loose, we're allowed to wear basically anything (Have seen multiple people wearing cat ears and wore my own bc why not, no issues, not even w/ the bells constantly jingling) there's plenty of time to talk to friends, their entire system is "If you gotta fix it after you turn it in, go ahead, as long as the initial turn in has some effort", the teachers will tell stories and stuff, and it's super inclusive and everyone's respectful (including the students!) and the best part: My advisory teacher said, quoting directly here, "If you wanna skip class go ahead just don't hide in the bathroom that's gross" Ngl such a great school, I got lucky af to get in
I was having trouble transferring a video for an assignment to my google drive so i emailed my teacher the night before apologizing and explaining as I'd gotten in trouble for the exact same thing the year prior but this teacher literally just told me to show him the video in class. Plus he always talks to me about music despite the fact he's my tech teacher, he's honestly the best considering I go to a really shitty school
High school: “ You need to go to the *BATHROOM?* NO, they wouldn’t let you go in *COLLEGE* College: “ Omg Tracy, you can just go, you don’t have to ask me “
But these are true. When you have the chill instructors that's when you score. This feels aimed at two of my professors (one of them holds a test open for a week and finals were basically just what we have been doing through the semester)
4:51 I would literally throw the assignment at the teacher and walk out. Idc what happens, if he says this bullshit, I’m not entitled to respect him anymore.
I never learned it and I’m in 8th, it’s the end of the year and exams are coming up so they can’t teach us any more new material. Ig it depends on the school district?
5:45 no bro just no. Sophomore year of High school I had this english teacher who doubled as a baseball coach and one day randomly had us read "alas babylon" and every 2 chapters had a "quiz" on said chapters which were actually just one question about the smallest and most irrelevant details in the book. its like he wants to trip us up so he can watch us fall.
I had an English professor who once hid an extra credit assignment in the directions for an essay layout. It was submit a photo of your pet or just a cute animal
My college professors were not understanding or lenient about weddings, funerals, or ER trips. The homework was still due. The tests still happened. It would be reflected in my grade, no ifs, ands, or buts. [Edit: I did have one that was understanding about me having to miss a presentation because I was in the hospital going into potentially early labor, but that was it. Yes, I was pregnant in college. I was 29.]
@@jogle9013 I was kind of worried people would think I had a kid at 19 while in college when I was actually a non-trad. The crazy thing is I temped in the university's business office a year after graduation and they couldn't believe I had a kid. They thought I was too young because of how I looked, I guess. I'm like "well...I'm 31..." But you know, even if I did have a kid at 19 and stayed in school, that's nothing to be embarrassed about. Good for anyone who does that! It's tough but don't let go of your dreams!
3:21 i dont see any bl00d- OKAY DO YOU WANNA SEE IT SO I CAN GET YOU FIRED??? nah jk almost all my teachers are female and we dont ask to go to the bathroom 😂
I’m currently in high school, and one of my teachers hates when you have to go to the bathroom. You cannot go to the bathroom until we’re 10 min into class. WelL, I got my period during class, and we were only 6 min into class. I raised my hand, and then once the teacher called on me i said “may I go to the bathroom?” He said “no, you have to wait 4 more minutes” and then he continued teaching. I raised my hand once again and coughed to get his attention. He said “yes Samantha?” I said “may I please go to the bathroom, it’s an emergency.” He said “well if you need to go so badly you could’ve gone before class started. You know the rules.” And once again, he continued the lesson. I was annoyed at this point, so I raised my hand, got up out of my seat, and without waiting for him to call me I said “ sir, I am currently on my period. If you don’t want me to stain my clothes, and bleed onto this chair, I advise you to go let me use the restroom.” The whole class stared at me, he didn’t say anything. So since he was taking so long in responding I said “well? Can I, or can I not go to the restroom?” He said “yes you can go” very quickly and quietly. I’m still in his class and now he never questions wether or not I have to go to the bathroom 🙃
My school didn’t let us leave the classroom 20 minutes after a class started and 20 minutes before a class ended. Luckily some teachers are more flexible than others on that rule.
"you should`ve told your grandfather its a bad time to pass away" How you gonna do that "Grandpa dont die yet i have an test on friday" or "Grandpa don`t die yet I have a exam on Friday"
6:37 Sir you missed teaching us about factoring polynomials its not like we'll have a calculator or Google in our pockets all the time i mean can't your family wait😂😂😂
Depends on your teacher. Some can be rather mean. But typically they're pretty chill. Also, as someone who also went to uni (before dropping out to go to college), I can 100% say that uni teachers are demons. Some of the worst people I've ever met. College is heaven by comparison.
Depends on the teacher but it's pretty accurate. Maybe not to that extent but one of my professors made an exam take home because at the end of class she asked, "okay, what are things you guys are struggling with but you can't say the whole thing" and when it was silent because everyone's answer was "the whole thing" she just made it take home. Additionally with that one, I fully slept through that exam because the day before I'd pulled an all-nighter and slept through my alarm. I also had another teacher let me leave early because she could tell i was in a bad way and wasn't doing well. Granted both of those examples were for classes that weren't like math or science but so far most of my professors have been really understanding about a lot of stuff which has be amazing
In my experience yeah, though I am mostly in the humanities. Each professor will have their own standards, but as long as you clear that, they'll generally treat you like a human adult, which is nice compared to the number of middle and high schools that will give you work for work's sake and treat you like a robot with nothing better to do.
Depends on the college I think. The more prestigious a college is the stricter the teachers are. State colleges and community colleges, stuff like that? Super chill professors!
I remember being someone that always drank a lot but some teachers probably thought I was cutting classes for asking to go to the bathroom often. Once they denied me and I couldn't hold it anymore. I learned at that time to rarely drink water in school so that won't ever happen again and that I won't have to go to the bathroom ever again at school.
Same. I love dehydrating myself for school. My school has got so controlling we can’t use the bathroom in between classes and we have to use E-Hallpasses to go to the bathroom and they don’t let you start the E-Hallpass if there is someone in the class already out. Or if more than 20 people (in the hallway/ or entire school I don’t remember) are already using the bathroom.
I do genuinely wonder why this is such a common thing. Is it like a generational thing and they're unable to see that times have changed, or are they just projecting their own hardships they went through onto you?
When he asked her if she can hold her period I started yelling from the top of my lung”ITS BLOOD SHE CANT HOLD IT” my brother to scared to approach me just peeped in from my door to see if I was okay
Its times like these when i’m glad i go to the highschool i go too… it’s basically a uni but with a bit more highschool stuff (probably cuz they need to pass the education board rules), the only actually bad teacher i’ve had (not one i just found annoying because of instinct) at the school i’m at now was clarified to me as “a bit strict” by other faculty! I’ve been to some bad schools and so far this one is the best (i currently don’t fiscally go to her class, i do the work in the building where people who’s classes have been canceled or don’t have a sub go, also people skipping, and usually the skipping is arranged with faculty as a thing that happens)
Honestly, I can confirm this is very true although our highschool is a bit like a college rule It's not really that strict even eating while at class is allowed lol
1:43 is so true in High School lol. They're like, GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP OR 9 YOU HAVE A TEST!! Then make sure you don't miss your Basketball game, your debate team meeting, and your homework read chapters 5-7 of your Science Textbook :). Like they are the ones causing sleep deprivation and they are the ones against it!? Hypocrite's XD
@@CoolioMateGD It’s all about managing your time. It could be tough, but it’s very, very doable. Millions of people get more than enough sleep in high school.
@@triple7marc I learned time management in early elementary school but middle school was hell because I was in a lot of clubs but I was much better in high school.
im in highschool right now working very hard to get into a good college. and i know this is abt americal colleges and probably not true for indian ones but it still motivates me a lot.
I had one kinda chill teacher in 8th grade shed just let us play games every Thursday and every other day we could either play games, do work from other classes or just hang out (depending if someone’s working if someone was doing some class work you’d have to be quiet or something)
Word of caution for open note open book exams: if you're given one, chances are it'll be HARD. I had a week to turn in my take-home bio final this semester (open-note, open-book, you just couldn't directly ask anyone about the questions), and my god it was just awful. I had to use Google to find out what the professor was even asking in some of the questions. At least we did have a week to turn it in but I don't think anyone found it to be easy
I remember once in my first year of high school I was in the hospital for three weeks and when I got out my geography teacher helpfully reminded me I had a multi page essay on Pompeii due the next day.
8:04 made me gasp for 2 seconds because if you crashed and went to a complete stop you experience inertia, but your seat belts stops you from going far Also can happen when someone breaks hard and you are in the car or your re the one that braked. Honestly I think there is a big difference because, I believe some middle schools and high schools get you more prepared, just in case if you are faced with a teacher that isn't really understanding, like I saw that someone had some and mentioned about it in the comments.
I’ve surprisingly only fallen asleep once in class, and when I did my classmates were the ones shaming me not the teacher, odd considering 95ish% of them fell asleep at least once
On the topic of sleeping, my highschool had a Science Fiction class that I ADORED! But it was my last class and I suffer from insomnia, so I wouldn't sleep, realize it's 6 and go, "Guess I have to stay up." Cut to me in the middle of 4th period conked out while sitting in a chair. Missed half the plot of some of these movies but still had crazy wacky ideas. I'm surprised the teacher never got mad at me cause at the beginning of the semester she straight up said, "No talking, texting, or sleeping during movie time."
My current teacher in school always yells at me for having too quiet of a voice. They also yell at me for crying out of stress. They also yell at me for getting upset. They also yell at me for not understanding the math lessons.
i'm sorry you are going through this. Do you have a trusted member of staff (vp, guidance counselor, teacher etc) to talk to? Or perhaps a guardian? It seems to may that you are under a lot of pressure and need someone trusted to discuss this with. I would recommend talking with your counselor or vice-principal(vp) about this issue; a teacher should never yell at you for not understanding or being stressed.
The massage chairs and therapy dogs during finals is a real thing. But, he forgot to mention the coloring table, games (frisbee, ring toss, etc), meditation areas, and free snacks that pop up for finals week.
got a terrible bladder infection in highschool, and she almost wrote me up for interrupting class until my dad sent a very angry email, it was so bad i had to bring meds to school to eat with lunch and i was drinking 5 cups of water an hour fr
My ASL teacher won't let anyone leave for the bathroom and its just like "Ummmmm lady what if its an emergency and no we don't have time to wait 4 mins for the people getting our of gym to change then go pee and run across school we only have 5 mins! and you constantly get calls and texts in class so what??? We are late cause we are trying to not get an UTI in class?? HALFWAY THROUGH CLASS?????"
Only in sophomore year for hs, the english questions give me ptsd. A unit test for to kill a mockingbird i practically failed at was basically full name simulator and a randomly placed short answer question on quizizz
I once accidentally fell asleep in my Spanish class and my professor litterly emailed me what I missed while I was asleep. I love him.
Lol 😂

2. See #1
3. Sadly, yes.
I've never gotten so pissed then comforted so many times consecutively
I got the luck of my current school *actually* preparing others for college. It's an art school so understandably more loose, we're allowed to wear basically anything (Have seen multiple people wearing cat ears and wore my own bc why not, no issues, not even w/ the bells constantly jingling) there's plenty of time to talk to friends, their entire system is "If you gotta fix it after you turn it in, go ahead, as long as the initial turn in has some effort", the teachers will tell stories and stuff, and it's super inclusive and everyone's respectful (including the students!) and the best part: My advisory teacher said, quoting directly here, "If you wanna skip class go ahead just don't hide in the bathroom that's gross"
Ngl such a great school, I got lucky af to get in
If you don't mind, what school was this?
@@BeautifulBelladonna Academy of Arts and Academics!
High school: “ You need to go to the *BATHROOM?* NO, they wouldn’t let you go in *COLLEGE*
College: “ Omg Tracy, you can just go, you don’t have to ask me “
But these are true.
When you have the chill instructors that's when you score. This feels aimed at two of my professors (one of them holds a test open for a week and finals were basically just what we have been doing through the semester)
A good or bad professor/teacher can make all the difference. I'm terrible at math yet I got an A in the last math class I took.
Let's just all make teachers realize that if we gotta go, we gotta go, and it'll either be the sanitary toilet or our desk chair.
As they say, you save the best for last….
3:20 to 3:30 made me hate the high school teacher SO much
4:51 I would literally throw the assignment at the teacher and walk out. Idc what happens, if he says this bullshit, I’m not entitled to respect him anymore.
Polynomials is such a middle school thing lol, same with parabolas!
The conic form of parabolas is a high school thing tho.
@@claireshi7384 same with polynomials, but you shouldn’t “learn” parabolas and polynomials in highschool. That knowledge should already be obtained
@@arjunator2688 Well different schools have different curriculums so they teach things at different paces so...
@@claireshi7384 not really. Middle school doesn’t have that stuff unless you’re advanced
I never learned it and I’m in 8th, it’s the end of the year and exams are coming up so they can’t teach us any more new material. Ig it depends on the school district?
high school is strict..
"you should have told your grandfather that this was not a good time to pass away" had me dying
Oh look, Scott made a compilation for us, nice!😀😃😄🙌🏼👍🏼😎😁😄🤩😍
I had an English professor who once hid an extra credit assignment in the directions for an essay layout. It was submit a photo of your pet or just a cute animal
My college professors were not understanding or lenient about weddings, funerals, or ER trips. The homework was still due. The tests still happened. It would be reflected in my grade, no ifs, ands, or buts. [Edit: I did have one that was understanding about me having to miss a presentation because I was in the hospital going into potentially early labor, but that was it. Yes, I was pregnant in college. I was 29.]
damn
My mom had four kids and the youngest being 5 by the time you had that child. So you shouldn't feel embarrassed about having a kid at ALMOST 30!
Videos like these really help calm my anxiety of college (currently a HS Senior).
3:21 i dont see any bl00d-
OKAY DO YOU WANNA SEE IT SO I CAN GET YOU FIRED???
nah jk almost all my teachers are female and we dont ask to go to the bathroom 😂
5:33 thats actually such a good point
Good for you, my friend! That took guts!
You showed him who’s boss around here
My school didn’t let us leave the classroom 20 minutes after a class started and 20 minutes before a class ended. Luckily some teachers are more flexible than others on that rule.
"you should`ve told your grandfather its a bad time to pass away"
How you gonna do that "Grandpa dont die yet i have an test on friday"
or "Grandpa don`t die yet I have a exam on Friday"
grandpa: alright dear *rejects death*
Grandpa is a stand user
6:37 Sir you missed teaching us about factoring polynomials its not like we'll have a calculator or Google in our pockets all the time i mean can't your family wait😂😂😂
Now I’m starting to wonder if school is really like this or it’s just exaggerated (in a nice way, it’s pretty funny lol)
wait- for people who’ve actually been to college or are currently in college, is this accurate???
Depends on your teacher. Some can be rather mean. But typically they're pretty chill.
Also, as someone who also went to uni (before dropping out to go to college), I can 100% say that uni teachers are demons. Some of the worst people I've ever met. College is heaven by comparison.
not for most LOL but yes, a couple profs are kind of like this
Depends on the teacher but it's pretty accurate.
7:45. High school: THEY WILL BE VERY STRICT IN COLLEGE DONT EXPECT ANYTHING!!!!
College: we have therapy dogs for you to help with the test
3:43 My choir teacher does this periodically it's amazing
Lucky lol. In band our version of this is "NOW WE GET TO LISTEN TO THE FLUTES" and so everyone gets to relax except the flutes(I'm a flute) :(
@@0beep014 She left this year, and I’ll be in choir again
I teach high school seniors and I’m more like the college prof. I acknowledge they’re human…but I also hold them accountable. It’s a balancing act tbh
Or if more than 20 people (in the hallway/ or entire school I don’t remember) are already using the bathroom.
teachers : ' this wont pass in college '
college :
I do genuinely wonder why this is such a common thing. Is it like a generational thing and they're unable to see that times have changed, or are they just projecting their own hardships they went through onto you?
When he asked her if she can hold her period I started yelling from the top of my lung”ITS BLOOD SHE CANT HOLD IT” my brother to scared to approach me just peeped in from my door to see if I was okay
5:25 this is why i like having math first period i can just do it in the morning :D
wait crap i don’t have it first period next year CRAP
0:51 MY FAVORITE PART 🐞
4:13
Lukkyyyyy we only get 2 minutes
*yes my locker is at the end of the hall and my class is at the end of the hall*
I’m scared for high school. Exited for college
Honestly, I can confirm this is very true although our highschool is a bit like a college rule
It's not really that strict even eating while at class is allowed lol
Now I’m brave enough for college
But now scared of highscool
5:05 if my high school teacher was like this i'd say fuck you, leave and take the suspension
Nah, that’s a BS excuse. Getting 8 hours of sleep and setting aside 8 for school still leaves 14 hours of free time to do all of those things.
@@triple7marc 14 Hours but I don't think anyone has debate things and stuff at 11 PM but you make a point.
Scott never fails to amaze us
im in highschool but im 12 and its so hard its mostly the noise that bothers me
@Average TH-cam Enjoyer maybe they're saying they're 12 years old in highschool
Yeessss same all the noise is really distracting and overwhelming for me too
I’m going to be a college freshman in the fall and honestly this video made me so much less nervous…you better not be lying to me Scott 😂
4:39 what is in your pocket then
*Pulls out phone*
“no grandpa! *sob* wake up please! *sob* i have a test *sob* on polynomials to *sob* morrow and my teacher won’t *sob* let me do it late!” *sob*
I had one kinda chill teacher in 8th grade shed just let us play games every Thursday and every other day we could either play games, do work from other classes or just hang out (depending if someone’s working if someone was doing some class work you’d have to be quiet or something)
I would literally beat the crap out of that High school teacher. I don’t even care if I would get expelled. That guy would DESERVE IT
True dat
Your high school teacher absolutely pisses me off, great work, it’s so accurate to how some teachers at my school act(I’m a senior rn😫)
At 1:33 when he talked it was so fast idk how he did not have to catch his breath
This High School teacher is every teacher i had from elementary to college.
8:04 made me gasp for 2 seconds because if you crashed and went to a complete stop you experience inertia, but your seat belts stops you from going far
Also can happen when someone breaks hard and you are in the car or your re the one that braked.
Honestly I think there is a big difference because, I believe some middle schools and high schools get you more prepared, just in case if you are faced with a teacher that isn't really understanding, like I saw that someone had some and mentioned about it in the comments.
"Not a good time to pass away" I'm crying 😭😭😭
My English teacher also teaches collage at the same time(I don’t know how she does it) but she’s really chill like the collage teacher
i’m sorry but when you said “kacey musgraves “ i was screaming crying on the floor bc i love her so much!!! ❤️
Ok but this is illegal to be this funny
Get out of that class! Tell someone and they’ll help you out
Broo-- You are exactly like my SST teacher ! like the way you speak the way you look! amazing!!!
danggg bro is making college sound like a dream
It just the ‘CoUdOn,T yOu TeLl HiM tO pAsS aWaWy LaTeR’ got me dying of laughter
omg bro the underwater basket weaving got me cause my math teacher always mentioned it
My aunt (21-ish) is in college and she makes it seem so stressful but this relaxes me about college a little more
I think it just depends on who you get I guess
Dude the crop top made me fall of my chair and the accuracy for this is spot on
My professor cancels class when it’s windy. Every single time.
That’s not good lol. You’re paying for school, right?
4:39 the chemical compound for potassium is KCL
how did he say "you should have told him that this what not a good time to pass away" with a straight face 😆
This makes me excited for college
Once my teacher said nobody is getting anymore drinks even thought it was like 33°C outside
A little less time on tiktok when this made on tiktok I love this!
okay but is this true because if it is I will cry tears of joy once I go to college
The massage chairs and therapy dogs during finals is a real thing. But, he forgot to mention the coloring table, games (frisbee, ring toss, etc), meditation areas, and free snacks that pop up for finals week.
This is so true college is more understanding than highschool.
got a terrible bladder infection in highschool, and she almost wrote me up for interrupting class until my dad sent a very angry email, it was so bad i had to bring meds to school to eat with lunch and i was drinking 5 cups of water an hour fr
Omg the stuff on . Yes the punctuation
All these videos are like you think you know what to expect but then there’s a plot twist
Only in sophomore year for hs, the english questions give me ptsd. A unit test for to kill a mockingbird i practically failed at was basically full name simulator and a randomly placed short answer question on quizizz
Now I am excited for collage. Do they actually act like that?
Most of the time, yes!
All you have to do is show just a bit of interest, and yeah - professors are really chill.
Okay. I am excited for college now
